    I would be interested to know what sort of questions to ask that would help people pitch a show.

    Is it possible for a person who hasn't gone to school for this type of thing
    Is that person capable to pitch a idea for a show and get hired and make the show

      Just depends but its rare unless you're connected and white. You would need to get staffed before you run any TV Show. Look up Showrunning.

      In theory anyone can do it.
      On paper it's very rare for someone who's not connected. But maybe you can get beyond that if your idea is really good and you sell yourself really well. I mean, the Game of Thrones showrunners basically conned HBO into getting their position. Once you are beyond that gate though....good luck.

    Where in New York would be the best place to go so I can share a script I wrote up for the first episode of my show and the idea? Where I'm from is a small place, but want to move onto bigger things as soon as I graduate, New York is my best shot before getting too California. Thanks!

      @@ProducersGuildofAmericaSo , how do I know what channel Or streaming service has the right target audience for the TV series idea I have that's inspired by an on going news report ( in Australia 🇦🇺 ) ? I'm not one for knowing how to write a TV/ movie script . I barely can write songs ( sometimes that become a hit ) . Can I as an outsider of that industry , just pass on an idea & let others do all rest of the work ? ♑️✍️🇳🇴🇦🇺

    This might sound very ridiculous, but I’ve been very into the Twilight zone for a good portion of my life. I have watched all the original episodes, and I’ve even seen the new series of it by Jordan Peele. But lately I’ve been writing my own stories set in the Twilight zone (fan fiction you might say) but I have absolutely no idea on how to get into contact with anything like that to possibly have something discussed. My stories don’t even have to take place in the Twilight zone. But mentally when I’m writing it, I think of Rod Serling with his narration in the beginning and end of the story and whatnot. But one thing I do know is I’m very very big into anthology series. And it’s kind of been my dream to somehow get involved in TV. I just don’t even know the first step how to.

    Today's TV programs are pretty much crap with few exceptions. It looks like little thought goes into the storyline or even worse they all copy each other's themes. Where in the hell do they come up with some of these stories? Maybe the guys buying this crap because they believe their audience wants it should try some original but good material now and then. They might be surprised at the response.

    what if you're not a Yank or your show is not 'Murican?

    • @MrRossT1
      @MrRossT1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Tik-Tok Man then you better produce something on your own that gets awards and commercial success before you're even considered for a meeting! You didn't grow up in L.A. to make those connections, then you better be making films and entering festivals like Gareth Edwards did. His short films are what got him attention. Which led him to direct Godzilla, Rogue One, and Kong of Skull Island and many more to come!

      What is a "cartton?" In addition, your sentence structure is completely backwards and your spelling of the word, "dammit" is incorrect. That lack of care or attention to detail with a simple heading indicates to me that you probably applied the same lack of attention and detail to your project. Therefore, I have no interest in looking at your "cartton."

      Think he was just alluding to, not being long-winded, or robotic, or in a rush, or overbearing. LESS IS MORE basically, is how I took it. Wasn't bothered by it at all. I got it.
