Animals with Cameras ep 2:
Wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan leads a team of animal camera experts as they join forces with scientists to put cameras on animals. In the second episode, the team uncover the hidden lives of three iconic animals. In Namibia, Gordon joins a cheetah conservationist who wants to see if three orphaned cheetahs, who she has raised from a day old, can learn to hunt effectively in the thick vegetation. The on-board cameras, the first to ever be worn by cheetahs hunting in Africa, give the team an amazing first-hand view.

Now THAT is something I haven't seen before. Awesome!
Amazing how the Cheetah can run so fast after it swallowed the Cameraman really
LMAO HAHAHA
kuku muku 🤦🏾♂️. It’s a silly joke. He knows the camera is on its head.
kuku muku
r/woosh
Best comment!
Haha
Would be a lot better if it just showed the footage of the GoPro and not interrupting it with those useless comments of excitement
The Chamalow Destroyer Yes. Thought the Same. Spoiled the video
Did you complain when you were born??
Yaboy lmao
Agree, would have loved to see it full speed too. Seeing it slowed down takes away from the impressiveness of the whole thing.
Or once in real time before or after this slow motion stuff.
Anyone else just imagine a GoPro strapped to the top of the cheetah's head? Made me giggle:3
I surely did, LOL
Dear goodness I can't STOP thinking about it! XD
Tatsusama
that really was a GoPro strapped on the cheetahs’s head
Why you looking at me??
What??
Something on my face?? I was born this way, stop it!
Around the neck actually
Unbelievable footage: when I was a kid I always dreamed to be a cheetah sprinting on the plains of Africa...and there it is!
With such incredible documentaries we can manage to create awareness around this wonderful creature and on how to save it from extinction.
This is epic!
Steven Baumann it would have been epic if they caught the prey..
ok now thus us oeic
THIS AMAZINGLY EPIC!!!!! I FEEL LIKE I AM HIM
More hunt, less people please!
geronimo8159 right?
geronimo8159 *ARE YOU THANOS*
Agreed
This segment had potential but they ruined it with their interruptions and edit
You didn’t have to slow it down. You should have shown the chase in realtime for once at least. Took the thrill out it.
That gave me goosebumps. What an incredible view!! Really shows the tactics of a predator and the endurance they bare. And prey to protect their young even if it costs them. Simply stunning!
How fun would it be if all animals had social media like this lovely cheetah. Thanks for sharing
Great Graphics, this new game looks good. *10/10 IGN*
0/10 IGN: to much water
Wow, what a stable camera view. Great stuff.
built-in gimbal stabliser.
MrBibo2050 the animal that does this the better is the chicken, have you ever seen a chicken on a motorbike tank (hidden behind the windshield) wearing a gopro ? Looks stable AF, its head barely moves even with the tilt and acceleration. Try holding a chicken in your hands and move it around, do 8s, whatever, its head doesn't move
This wasn't anywhere near top speed though... they seem to give up rather quickly.
Cheetahs never go top speed in the wild as they can only maintain it for 10 seconds otherwise they might die
Fiyaaah they dont go top speed because they can over heat very fast and die
Dude... it was in slow-motion.
Also, when the adult Eland came into picture, they would have realised they had no chance of a kill. Even that baby Eland would have been close to 8 times the weight of the cheetah
The cheetahs didn't go at top speed because the calf wasn't going at top speed so it wasn't necessary for them, it seems they called off the attack quick because the mom was been too defensive and they perceived It as a too much risk for injury.
Proof that cheetah's love fast food too.
Phenomenal! From their perspective you can truly appreciate how large their prey is in comparison to the cheetahs. I love our planet's biodiversity, it's a shame about the humans though...
Indeed.
Whats wrong with humans?
Humans are by far and away the most diverse species on the planet...
+Alfie
Depends on your definition of diverse.
Humans are BLAND
Yes my favorite animal doing what its made to do!
Failed hunting?
Run so it’s baby doesn’t get eaten?
Nobody cares and ok
You're exactly right. That is how God made it.
Loosing?
Fascinating! More videos like this, please ^-^
I'd definitely like to see a similar video from the point of view of a shark or a bird of prey.
Just this last week I was searching all over the web for a video like this: prey and predators with cameras.
THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING MY PRAYERS, BBC EARTH! Can't wait to see this from the prey's perspective!
Where exactly did they strap that go pro on tho?
The head or most likely at the start of where the neck begins
It's willy
In Namibia
It’s cock
Finkel - Funk its leg
Camera on a cheetah's head is much more stable than people recording random videos.
Amazing footage, a different perspective for a chase is long overdue. Really got a sense for the speed they get up to in such a short time.
I love how the gazelle swerved between the bushes to slow down the cheetahs, such smart creatures
This was amazing footage, more videos like this please!
This is truly fascinating. The first person perspective of one of the fastest animals and predators on land.
Mind blown! That is epic footage. Thank you for the upload
The way the dirt was flying everywhere. So cool!
Love this First-Person Mode! LIONS, Wild Dogs, Hyenas MORE MORE & MORE First-Person
King AMMO 6090RP Think of those first person view of a prey, of a victim of terrible murder, go.
Geez! This was a great video. Awoke my senses. Made my day thanks
Incredible! Seeing the world through a cheetah’s eyes..
Stefan Salvatierra well... from top of a cheetahs head.
It's just so thrilling and chilling to hear him breath like that
Now THIS is just straight awesome cuz I don't think any of us have seen a cheetah hunt from the CHEETAH'S perspective so far. But if there's any way we could get the whole hunt in real speed and again slowed down, I'll bet that video will hit a million views! Awesome job to the people who do this for a living!
Wow 😍
Absolutely breathtaking. My goodness I’ve never seen anything like it.
Middo Yes, they strapped a camera to the cheetah's head/neck that you get to see from the cheetah's point of view or perspective of how they would work together as a team to hunt down large prey like the elands shown in the video. Elands are antelope that can weigh up to a ton in weight. And can stand up to 6 feet tall at the shoulders. And they can run up to 45 miles per hour and jump up to 7-8 feet high. Yeah, that's definitely breathtaking.
BBC, you win hands down. I've never seen a hunt from an animal's perspective in my 3 decades of existence.
This skill takes more than instincts, we dont appreciate the abilities of animals. Amazing footage
Mother's love 😥😭♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
That was amazing and epic!
that was incredible
calix dázeroth lll
Not kidding! But its déjà vù for me to watch it. Just last night I was thinking what if we could see a cheetah’s speed and the way it targets it’s prey. Thanks for granting my wish, I didn’t even had to search for this video.
Worth watching of 2:12 minutes, I wish many more such videos should be captured to understand prospect of creatures👍🏻😊
Great how the mother tried to slow down to save her baby. Mothers always rock!
It would have been a lot better if u had shown in normal speed then in slow motion
Pov shots on cheetahs look absolutely amazing with a stabilizer.
Lol I like how while the cheetah is running all you see is a little bit of fur on the bottom hahaha 🐈🐈🐈
One of the best videos i have seen in a long time...amazing..
I'll Have To Say... This Is Phenomenal
We need more videos like this...this was amazing even though they didn't get the kill...
"What on AIRTH?" Full credit to him for acknowledging that the air holds the cheetahs too.
How do they even put the camera on them, do they tranq them first?
Holy cow! That was INSANE!!! 😱🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯😵
Awesome....no words for it...the thrill of chasing..it's just amazing
Now that's the sort of recommendation that I want TH-cam, thank you!
Breath taking!!! That's like BBC nature series.
Oh i thought that cheetah could run 5min at top speed but today i learnt that its only 10seconds. Great video
This is great though please leave more of the scenes in real time, then we can get an idea of the speed in real-time.
Remarkable! This is just wonderful!
Great stuff, BBC Earth Unplugged!
More videos of cheetah like this, more of this PLS 😍😍
Incredible! Definitely creat a series like this
It is amazing how the mother throws herself between the cheetah and her baby. Either she knows she can kick its head in or she is making a huge sacrifice - either way...Brave mother.
My favorite animal; an incredible perspective!
Dope. Prefer an uninterrupted clip with only audio commentary though, but fantastic footage
This is the type of POV that I like
We need more videos like this!!!!
This was AWESOME.
Wow! This was amaazing.....i want more videos like it
Amazing how the head remains steady.
I have seen a few photos of what the camera would be when it's strapped around the cheetah's head. It's pretty unique that to see from the cheetah's point of view or perspective of how they tried to hunt down those elands. Awesome footage tho. But it's even cool when it's both normal speed and then slowed down. It just look amazing and epic as well. Did you guys strapped the camera around the cheetah's head when it's moving or did you guys tranquilizied it, like putting it unconscious and then strapped the camera around it's head? Like how you guys put the camera around the cheetah's head? But otherwise awesome video here! 👍
I applaud the camera man for riding that cheetah without falling off, crazy stuff
Well that escalated quickly...
Cheetahs are awesome!
Amazing goosebumps ... Bbc mindblowing.. wow
Every boy who played rugby knows exactly what this felt like for the cheetah. Even if you played terribly, when the silhouette of that target appeared behind the bush, you're right there with the cheetah.
awesome video
This is mind blowing. Put some more cameras on lions, cheetahs, hyenas
Man! Wish video games that realistic! That's AWESOME!
We need more of it,very amazing
Greatest thing I have ever seen
Great job.. haven't seen such a video before...
This was extraordinary. I saw what they see!
first person hunting game!
Looks like a first person point of view game lol
Really? I didn't know... Smh
Yes this was awesome
Mom did a good job at protecting her baby and switch to the left to keep the closest one away from the baby. 👏👍
Him : "Do you see the difficulties of negotiating those bushes?"
Her : "That's what I was trying to convey last night in the tent."
Ohhhh, see......now THIS is cool!
I wanted to see the cheetah pounce him but this still cool
Awesome content !!! Love it !
It's Marlice from Wild animal orphans! Great show definitely recommend
Her husband just wants to fly his plane and their son zacheo almost got eaten by their leopard at home lol
they're so skilled.. how did they even agree when to attack and which one to attack, without any vocal communication
That’s is amazing ❤️👍 I’ve never seen anything like it
Wow,that's truly epic
For a minute I thought i am on the cheetah running🤣🤣
Incredible footage.
This is the strongest cheetah yet. I mean how is it carrying a camera man on its back???
Finally something new.
Very cool. Would be even more awesome if the prey happened to be wearing a GoPro facing backwards getting the view of the cheetah chasing it.
I've seen alot of nature shows..and they need to get cameras on every animal they have on their shows...
Especially PBS's Nature.
Yay for the antilope's escape!
make more and more like this one! ,so cool
