That "Usahay" is a classic Visayan Song sang Originally by Pilita Corales a Bisaya Song. All Bisaya understand that native dialect. As we all recognizes that LOVE have different faces and languages and crosses all barriers.. even we cannot understand other's tongue but our HEARTS accepts and respects love. Proud to be a Bisaya and Filipina. Mabuhay ka Morissette for making our Filipino Classic Music be recognized from all around the world. Very Proud if YOU! Love from Filipino in Brazil🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

To me ,Morissette.is like what ,Messi is to football, like Ali was to boxing, like MJ was to the music industry, she is the G.O.A.T. of female vocalists, yes i have been lucky enough,to have grown up,and witnessed the arrival's ,of Whitney,Mariah.Celine and many other amazing female vocalist's,through the years.but Morissette seems to have the Gift of all the vocally gifted all wrapped into one ,truly she does, and sounds just as amazing performing live, than she would have on a pre-recording,can sound amazing ,no matter the genre of music she singing, and one big plus, she has a personality ,to match that of her vocal prowess.simply on a different planet from all others before her.

Usahay is a Visayan word for "Sometimes." Visayan is one of the many local languages in the Philippines. Born and raised in Cebu City, Philippines, it is actually Morissette's true native dialect (not Tagalog/Filipino). So proud of her singing this timeless, classic, Visayan song.
    English translation:
"Usahay nagadamgo ako nga ikaw og ako nagkahigugmaay."
(Sometimes I dream that you & I fell in love (again).)
"Nganong damguhon ko ikaw? Damguhon sa kanunay sa akong kamingaw."
(Why do I keep dreaming about you? Dreaming of you in my loneliness.)
"Usahay magamahay ako nganong nabuhi pa ning kalibutan."
(Sometimes I regret living in this world (now that I no longer have you).)
"Nganong gi-ti-aw-ti-awan ang gugma ko kanimo, kanimo day?"
(Why did you have to play with my feelings for you?)

You are correct Adonis Was in her Fly Like a Bird performance also was in her Rise Up acapella version along with her Shine performance on the Wish Bus so you might want to check out the Rise Up acapella and Shine performances. Miguel is playing the sax and Dave is doing backup vocals with her. Dave is also her boyfriend who makes the music video for her. These two songs could not be more perfect for each other. She is singing in her own language Bisayan. I think it was shot near or in Cebu her hometown but I could be wrong on that. Great reaction!!

The Contents means:: Sometimesshe is dreaming that him and her are lovers, that why would she dream of him all the time when she is lonesome. Sometimes, she resented why she still exist in this world., that her love for him is being toyed when her love is real and it’s only for him. This song is 70 yes old.sang by Old folks.

Just so you know, "Usahay" (pronounced O-SA-Hi) is a classic love song from the 1960s sung in Cebuano language (alternatively referred to as Bisaya language). Cebuano is Mori's mother tongue.
    Just an FYI:
The Philippines has over a dozen languages. Cebuano and Tagalog languages together have native speakers totaling nearly 50% of the country's population.
PH population is about 110 million according to recent census.

Welcome to the Gitanos family! We need someone expert on Morissette here!

@@patrickpost4294 Well I can't claim to be an expert about Morissette Amon. But she does have a fanbase who knows nearly everything about her performance. One person that I often see commenting about Mori is @Terri Bora. Isn't it Terri?
But I do know something about Mori as we both came from Cebu. Mori's father, Amay Amon, was or maybe still is a member of a Rock band in Cebu (sorry I am not privy to their family but some of my friends and relatives know something because they live in the same town). Growing up, she learned singing and the associated vocal techniques from him.
As I wrote in a different comment in this video, Mori's mother tongue is Cebuano (alternatively referred to as Bisaya language). "Usahay" is sung in Cebuano/Bisaya language.
However, her original hit song titled "Akin Ka Na Lang" (means "Be Mine") was sung in Tagalog language which is mostly, albeit incorrectly, referred to as Filipino language.
I'll spare this thread the details of this language mess :-(.
For foreigners and most Filipino who didn't study Philippine languages, Tagalog and Filipino for them is the same.
So for most of my comments of Mori's videos I just simply write Tagalog/Filipino. It's easier for me.
By the way, the Philippines (PH) has two official languages for transacting business: 1.) Filipino and, 2.) English
Everyone learns Filipino in Elementary and High School. It is mandatory.
English is use as medium of instructions in schools, for subjects in which Filipino language is not the mandatory medium of instruction, like Science, Technology, Medicine and Mathematics.
Going back to Mori. In her early teens, she had an operation on her throat. And it was kind of miracle that her voice wasn't affected a tad bit from that operation. She even went on to win some singing competitions in the Philippines and further developed her vocal tools. She is only 24 years old now. Many believed her singing abilities are still going to get even better going into her 30s.
Lastly, for those single guys out there ;-) Sorry, Mori is already taken. The guy doing backup vocals in this video together with her is her BF. His name is Dave Lamar. He is also a singer and does most of Mori's videos and mixes.
      I hope that helps.

You gave me another hint that you were/are a singer too. What don't I know to find you singing? I'm sure you are hiding in the 'CLOUD' somewhere! Morissette is phenominal!

    USAHAY = sometimes
A 1960’s song popularised by Pilita Corales.
It is a Cebuano dialect here in the Philippines.
Pilita and Morissette are both Cebuanos.

YAS Morissette again finally! You still haven't reacted to perhaps her most iconic performance "Rise Up" on the WishBus. The original video was taken down because it got more views than the original artists music video but people keep uploading it to YT over and over again. There is at least one out there with tens of thousands of views. Please react to it next, you will be blown away! EDIT: Yes, you're right. Many of us feel the same way. It is a shame/crime that arguably the greatest female vocalist of our time is largely unknown in many major countries. She's widely popular on TH-cam and just recently (a couple months ago) was featured in an interview on America's MTV TH-cam channel so hopefully that will help.

Yes, it is Jimenez as you pronounced it. Lots of Filipinos have Spanish last names.
She is singing in Cebuana-Visayan language, one of the many local languages spoken in our country. Filipino is our national language and based on the structure and intonation of the Tagalog local dialect in Luzon. Cebuano-Visayan is largely spoken in the southern islands of the Philippines. The song, “Usahay”, is a Kundiman which is an old Philippine genre of music, a love song with sweet haunting longing and regret but could also be mixed with strong whipping conviction of getting back for being scorned but still in a sweet way. I speak Cebuano-Visayan and this song gets me back in the past where my Lola (grandmother), Aunt, would sing this song and sometimes sung it in a fun way.😎..with mimes and all.

She sang Usahay in Cebuano. One of the many languages spoken in the Philippines. Usually in the central and southern provinces of the country. It is also Morissette’s mother tongue.

Im a Filipino up north but I can only guess, that segment was in her native Chabacano tongue in Visayas where Mori hails from. Yet it does not show in her any of her English language songs. She is simply just as perfect in her dictions, enunciations and pronounciations that matches her perfect pitch vocals...

There are mpre than 700 local dialects (languages) in the Philippines and USAHAY is just a word in one of them. It is a Visayan dialect and Usahay is a very popular song which was popularized by a Filipino singer, Pilita Corrales. The background view is MT. Kitanlad in Mindanao, I think.
