#subscriptionsquad Hi Danielle! The second song "Usahay" (Sometimes) is actually an old song way back in 60's. It was written by Greg Labja who fell inlove with a young lady named Noemi. She is now 79 yrs old. At that time, her suitors and admirers was so many, among them captains and crew members of the boats that docked. But it was the musician Greg who won her heart. She says Greg composed “Usahay” (Sometimes) because “yung nakita nya na ako” (when he first saw me), she paused and coyly giggled like a high school junior, “hindi na nya ako makalimutan” (he couldn’t forget me). ❤❤❤ And this song was later on sang by Pilita Corales, a living legend singer in the Philippines who has a very iconic style in singing 🎙️
"Usahay", a local love song in Cebuano, a dialect of the province of Cebu, Philippines. It means "sometimes" in English. Btw, Morissette is originally from Cebu.

Hi! Loved your reaction and input. I want to mention that the gentleman that does the arrangements is Morissette's musical director, Adonis Tabanda. He was the one playing the bass in this video and backup vocals. Super talented musician and I'm glad Morissette recognized this because together they made incredible music even more incredible. That a cappella part is 2x Morissette Amon, 2x Dave Lamar, 2x Adonis Tabanda even though it shows only Mori and Dave. Migual Jimenez was on the saxophone. The idea to add both songs was Morissette's idea since both are 3/4 signature waltz style .
Usahay is a kundiman, a Filipino love song popular in the 50's-60's sang in the Visayan dialect. I am glad Morisette is reviving it for the younger generation to hear. Great reaction!
Once again.... Another great reaction Ms. D 👏😊❤️💕👍 #MoriMonday If you are wondering.... Here's the back story behind the visayan Folk song USAHAY... It is a song for two lovers who didn't end up their love story happily because one of them cheated, also, we can simply say that it is a song of a person who regrets her/his decision of loving a person who is not loyal to their partner in terms of relationship. SAD SONG BUT TRULY POWERFUL in meaning.
"USAHAY" is a visayan words, and that's old song when i was young, that's my favorite song "USAHAY" 🎶🎵💖💖💖🎵🎶 Elishia thank you for loving MORISSETTE song's, and I love your channel that's why I always watching your videos. . . and hope more videos. . . Good luck and GOD bless you always 🙏❤️🙏💙🙏❤️🙏
The back up vocals is Dave Lamar who is Morissette's boyfriend. And "Usahay" is their own local dialect. Philippines has more or less 170 local dialect. Like every region or districts speaks different languages. But the national language is TAGALOG.
The Philippines has two official languages Filipino and English. Filipino is the standardized variety of the Tagalog language, BUT it is also considered a polycentric/pluricentric language, because it also incorporates other existing Philippine languages like Hiligaynon, Cebuano, Ilocano, Waray, etc. Officially, the Commission on the Filipino Language defines the Filipino language as "the native dialect, spoken and written, in Metro Manila, the National Capital Region, and in OTHER urban centers (Iloilo, Cebu, Davao, etc) of the archipelago" in accordance to the mandate of the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines. The University of the Philippines Filipino Dictionary is considered to be the equivalent of the Oxford English Dictionary and in theory it contains all the words that are considered to be part of the Filipino language.
@@jamesandreiraguindin5801 ..,tagalog is the national language. The reason they called it filipino to make it sound political correct, in other words not to put DOWN the rest of languages and dialects.
@@mykchicano ..,fyi, under the Umbrella of the Bisaya language are, karay-a, hiligaynon, aklanon, sugbo-anon, bol-anon, butuanon, surigao-non, coyonon. Now let me ask you about Waraynon/waray waray is it part or what?
The second song she sung was a Filipino standard song as well, it goes with the Moon River, which is also a standard song. Beautiful, I was teary eyed after hearing that, I suddenly remembered my deceased mother who's fond of singing those kind of songs. 😂
Hi Danielle...the guy singing with him is Dave Lamar, her boyfriend and the guy behind editing most of her videos. They really compliment each other. Usahay, the other song is in her native dialect. Love it! Thank you for your great reaction as always...
I love this mashup!!! It's beyond perfect! It has elements of so many things visually, vocally, musically. I'm hearing it for the 1st time on your channel so I will be checking this out in hers right after this! "Usahay" (oo-sa-hi) means sometimes. It's a classic, well-loved Cebuano song. Cebuano is her native language which is different from Tagalog which is the National Philippine language.

I have a suggestion, she should invite all her TH-cam voice coaches reviewers, fans, and have a great party concert.🙏
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm here 😀 to support you by watching now....
You are one of my favourite reactors! Thanks for loving Mori! 💕🇵🇭
KAMING MGA BISAYA AY PROUD NA PROUD SAYO!!!
Hi Danielle 💕💕💕 your reaction to this beautiful mashup, 2 beautiful songs seemlessly mixed. Watched the release and it sent a chill down my spine. #morimonday. Keep up the fantastic reactions. Think it's time to react to Mori and 3rd avenue cover of Rise up, a capella version xxx
I'm so glad that you've notice me Ms. D ❤️ You've seen my photo already huhuhu my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️
another good reaction video..the location where Usahay was shoot is very captivating and so are you..
D 👏😊❤️💕👍 #MoriMonday
If you are wondering....
But the national language is TAGALOG.
filipino is the national language. tagalog is just a dialect
@@jamesandreiraguindin5801 Tagalog is the main stream language and Filipino is the citizenry
Ur facial expression is always precious
Hi Danielle...the guy singing with him is Dave Lamar, her boyfriend and the guy behind editing most of her videos. They really compliment each other. Usahay, the other song is in her native dialect. Love it! Thank you for your great reaction as always...
Hi, i really love your reactions. You should react to Morissette's And I Am Telling You- MADE in Cebu Finale
Thank you for hyping up Mori's channel! And please sing soon akin ka na lang ❤❤

First off: Thanks for the reaction, Coach. I really love your enthusiasm and appreciation for Mori. That warms my heart a lot. And I learn a lot for you.
Second: I love your sweater/sweatshirt, lol. I wanna buy it, but I still have to save up money for it especially for the shipping. Hehehe....

Please react to her "And I am telling you" cover (Cebu Finale). This video gives you the chill and sweet Mori. Whereas the other will give you fierce and slayer Mori. 👍
Thanks again for reaction!
The second song she sang is Usahay. It's her native dialect even I can't understand because here in our country, there are 170+ dialects used in every provinces.
Their performance of "Pero Atik Ra" with KZ Tandingan is a good Visayan song too.
Love your energy and enthusiasm!

The guy Dave Lamar is her boyfriend. I think it helps to sing it romantically when you are singing with someone you love.

Miguel's the one on sax, Dave is on vocals with Mori, Adonis on double bass.
