my first bike was a 1968 yamaha jt60..still have it..got it in 1972. my older brother learned how to ride on it in 1968 and i got it in 1972 i was born in 68.my brother in 1964..we will be comin out to check it out.
Seeing the ATC brought back memories... grew up in S. Idaho on a farm/ranch and from about the age of 10 up drove these for irrigating...with a shovel under my ass, would drive through ungodly terrain. We used to haul ass and drive them across the massive irrigation ponds we had around the thousands of acres. Had one drive right up the back side of my calves trying to get it over a mainline and ripped the flesh off of my legs (was naked...was so far away from any person and possible streaking ...lol)...I digress...these are fun as shit!
In 2012 I was working at an automotive garage in northern Michigan and a Gentleman brought in a couple boxes and a frame and it was one of them Triumph bonnevilles that same series same paint job I had no book and it took me over a year to get this man his bike but we did it

Who painted the YZ250, the wizard? Look at the gas tank 9:13, Never paint a gas tank, it will ALWAYS bubble on these bikes. Just painted my tank on my cr5 and the next morning it looked like the surface of a frog.
Man I miss my 87 Rm 125 , looking st these classics makes me want another classic dirt bike. I'm looking for an 82- 84 Honda xr 500 in decent condition, but I want a bike to ride not just look at and say I have it !
Wish I could have commented sooner . I bought a 1984 XR500 new still in the crate in 1985 and saved about a grand . After about five years racing and riding on. The street and trail it was time for a rebuild ..and working at a Honda dealer has its vantages ..there is a shit loan s that enter change on the 1984 XR500 and the first year for the XR600 ..i made an expensive mistake buying a white brothers welded up regrind race cam ..the welded up cam lobes destroyed the cam follower rocker arms and the cam cost $275 bucks from white brothers...come to find out the next year XR600 cams drop in and have more duration and valve lift than the white brothers junk and for salt in my wound the Honda XR600 cam was around $80 bucks ..also the xr500 has two carbs but same size ,and same size dual intake ports ...but the next year xr600 cylinder head will interchange to the last year xr500 of the 1984 and the ports are different size as a primary is smaller along without the smaller carb..that is your left side primary port and carb that gives you more torque at low speeds in tight woods sections up to half throttle then the right side much larger carb begins to open up to full throttle..into the right side much larger intake port ...a friend at another Honda shop sold me the xr600 carbs cheap as I needed a new cylinder head after dusting out my old engine with ground up white brothers cam love powdered metal grindings it was sad .also found out that in 1988 Honda made both head pipes out of stainless steel that give the XR the look of those old European 500cc four stroke Husaberg motocross bikes with the same style twin exhaust into a single tuned pipe ...but Honda never finished with a s.s. mufflers ...but supertrapp did and with tiny mounting mods you can bolt on a Husaberg style all stainless twin pipes all the way back to the rear shock area into a single stainless steel super trapp megaphone ..but wait there's one more thing ..if you go to summit hot rod speed parts .they sell an all billet aluminum machined and polished open reverse cone end cap for 4 inch diameter super trapp megaphones for Chevy Impalas that will bolt on the super trapp 1988 s.s. xr600 megaphone that fits the two individual s.s. header pipes of the 1988 xr600 that also fits the 1984 xr500r mAking a complete stainless life time exhaust system That closely resembles in the days of the famous MX500cc Husaberg bout 220lbs that ran against 2 strokes in there day ..then KTM bought them out .but lead me to these discovered mods using all stock Honda parts that made one hell of a go fast moto-X-river bottom hair scrambles street legal trail camper Chicago Illinois River canal buster Ohio Wayne national Forest and the Illinois River to River trails Shawnee national Forest ultimate trail cursor with a 100 mph top end eat up the interstate highways at 80mph all day . Then camp out in a forest each night ..to race it in the river bottom shoot out ...go riding in the strip pits of amax coal company ....motocross the vintage class at Lincoln trail Motocross park Casey Illinois and then camp out in the Hoosier national forest for the bean blossom boogy and drag strip turning a 9.15 in the 1/8 mile against a custom cb750 Honda that turned a 9.20 loosing to race to me and loosing his helmet that he threw at me on the return lane

The condition is ''drivable'' but in the mood for a service. Not in the great mint condition as your bikes. But it runs great (So he says) and looks decent for the price. I live in Sweden so the price for the bike that he ask for is 12000 sek, that is 1395 dollars. The condition is - Slightly commondore 64 white/yellow fuel tank with some old 90's red stickers on it. - I dont know how many hours the piston have but he says it runs great. - Wrong front fender (White). - Small amount of rust on the pipe so he said he painted the pipe silver. - Rear fender has some tape on it (Probably because of a crack somewhere) - He says there is new oil and air filter on it. How can I get the yz250 for my pops, that’s the exact bike my pops had when I was growing up ,I have pics of me sitting on the bike when I was 10 and my pops jumping the bike .it had a pro circuit exhaust it was clean and quick

Definitely go for it. You can still find oem parts easily if the piston bore size is standard.
