Don’t get too hung up on wattage. I own both the SVS SB4000 and an old Mirage BPS400. The Mirage BPS400 has a class B amp with 400 watts peak and can reach a clean 18hz at around 115dB in a 15’x24’ room and has no trouble keeping up with the SVS SB4000. It has dual opposed 12” drivers in a sealed enclosure. I wish they never discontinued them because I’d buy two today if I could. I think the SVS SB4000 is a great sounding sub and I’m very pleased with it, but it’s not just all about power. I can only turn the old BPS400 up about half way before the concrete floor feels like it’s going to crack.
Really appreciate to video. The side by side comparisons helped me with making my final decision. Been looking to buy 2 new subs for quite some time to replace some older Paradigms. The Ultra 16's are a little to big for my space so I'm going with the SB-4000's for sure! I think the SB-4000's specs are exactly what I need and the piano black is just sexy. Great reviews from AVS, Sound and Vision, and Audiohlics. I looked into the Axiom ep800 ( the fellow below ) and the specs are pretty good however, it might be the ugliest sub I've ever seen but would look great in my sisters room! Good morning I recently bought 1 sennheiser ambeo soundbar which I am really happy with. I would like to add 1 subw model svs sb4000 or svs pb4000 for more bass. I would like to ask you if by inserting one of these two models I can improve the bass sound more or given the high costs of the models described above, I only keep the soundbar? we are talking about € 2399 and € 2899. for this reason I ask you if by adding 1 subw I really gain from listening to both music and movies. I have a pb3000 that's starting smell like fumes ( no smoke) when heavy bass is going through for extended period. Any thoughts? Also I may get the sb 4000 is it good for movies, sub sonic?

Question, i have watched you both of you guys' channels religiously im building my 1st home theater. Great work, fellas. My space is 18x 17.3 it's been suggested that 2 of ultra pb16 would be overkill for my space. So my question is, how would 1 ultra PB16 sound paired with 1 ultra PB 4000, or should I just stick to 2 PB 4000.
I did a direct comparison with both versions of the 3000 and an axiom ep800. The ep800 easily out performed both SVS subwoofers. You really should trial and ep800. It is easily one of the top performing subwoofers on the market. I did feel that both SVS subwoofers we're severely lacking in the middle range, which I suggest is due to the subwoofers design to go to the low frequencies. It really is a shame because I like SVS, but as others that I have come across have noticed, the Axiom ep800 is an entire different ballgame.
that's good to hear because my Ep-500v3 is complete garbage i bought a pb-2000 that sounds 2-3times louder and better so good to hear that not all their subwoofers suck.also don't really like my M80 speaker line setup either after hearing other speakers they don't sound nearly as good as when i first bought them.
@@hddanman7263 I was talking about the ep800, and taking into comparison the RMS output of the 800 and SVS 3000. Both subs are rated at 800 watts. I noticed a lackluster performance in the midbass area with the 3000. You don't get that with any of the V4 Axiom Subs. It's good to hear that you are happy with what you have. Money isn't really an issue for me so I want the best bang for my buck. I have a $40,000 home theatre that I am more than happy with. All the best.

Also axiom ep-800 a 2800 dollar sub compared to a 1400$ sub wow how do you figure just saying don't compare different price ranges.
