    Just got one of your intakes for my Fiesta ST and uploaded the install video. I'll be buying the cleaning kit later this week as I bought it 2nd hand. Thanks for the video.

    hi. I live in turkey. I can't find the oil you used here. What is the technical specification of the oil you use for the filter?

    Hello, what foam is that that you use, and what foam (texture and density) can be used?

    Won't using that much oil ruin the filter and/or MAF? I want to clean my Revo filter but might just buy a different filter because of the lack of instruction and reviews on how to clean it.

      As the video shows, yes you can use dish washing liquid. They are using Fairy washing up liquid.

    • @SpencerPlanton

      You cannot use washing up liquid. It will sort of work but I did some tests with spraying the ITG oil on a plastic bottle. Washing up liquid didn't really touch it when I tried to clean it off but the ITG cleaner melted the oil clean off with no effort. It is formulated specifically to chemically react with the oil and break it down quickly and efficiently.
      You will get close with washing up liquid but it really is going to take a long time and you wont get all the dirt out.
      I thought I would try washing up liquid on my own filter before my cleaning and re-oiling kit turned up. I thought it was clean. Then, when my kit turned up, I used the solvent and a load more grit was released from way inside the filter.
      If you are worried. The cleaning and re-oiling kits are not a use-once item. Plenty in there for several cleans and re-oils.

    Should the filter sit and "dry" after it's been oiled or is it ready to install instantly after oiling?

    • @sebgp9102
      @sebgp9102 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Billy Joe I would leave it overnight on a piece of cardboard or newspaper to allow any excess oil to drain off.

    are there any risks to over oiling the filter with the technique in the video?

    • @sebgp9102
      @sebgp9102 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      illogik Yes. You don't need to use anywhere near as much oil as shown in the video. I ruined a Ktec air filter following the oiling advice shown. Use less and massage in.

    • @Labatomy242

      I heard a mechanic say to use less oil but to keep the filter in a plastic bag and massage it in. Made sense.

    • @SpencerPlanton
      @SpencerPlanton 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have just done that. Large zip-lock bag. Massage in, leaving over night to soak through and then some more massage tomorrow to be sure.

    The cleaning advice is good, however you don't need to use anywhere near as much oil as shown.

    What a faff. Life's too short. Just use paper one and bin it.

    • @SpencerPlanton
      @SpencerPlanton 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Paper will clog way faster than these. If you renew your paper filter every couple of months then fair play but most people don't. ITG filters don't perform much better than a new paper filter, but the paper filter clogs RAPIDLY. It's not about flowing more air, it's about not restricting it artificially as soon as the dirt builds up. 😁
      ...they also sound really cool as well.
