- This is THE best yellow rice recipe!! Once you try this you’ll never use the boxed stuff again!
2 cups of Jasmine Rice
2 cups of chicken broth + 1 cup of water
1 Green Bell Pepper, diced
1/2 a Red Bell Pepper, diced
1 Yellow Onion, diced
2 Bay Leaves
1 tsp of Thyme
1 tsp of Ground Turmeric
1 Chicken Bouillon packet
1 tsp of black pepper
Salt to taste
1. Sauté diced bell pepper, onion and garlic in oil over medium-high heat w/ a sprinkle of salt and black pepper until they become soft and translucent. (about 7-10 minutes)
2. Add your rice, thyme, turmeric, bouillon seasoning, and black pepper, drizzle in more oil if needed. Stir and sauté for an additional 5-7 minutes, until rice becomes aromatic.
3. Pour over 2 cups of broth, 1 cup of water and add your bay leaves, give your rice one last gentle stir then allow it to come to a boil.
4. Reduce heat to low then cover and allow it to cook for 20 minutes until liquid has evaporated completely.
5. Remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork or stir it gently with a spatula. Finish w/ 2 tbs of butter and chopped green onions if desired.
Enjoy!!

I just made this for lunch and it is delicious! (Edit) I did use jasmie rice. Add carrots and Habanero pepper for a lil kick.
Yum!! I’m gonna have to try the habanero.. I love spicy!
Also called Turmeric Rice in some places. I've found lately that when I eat it my fasting blood glucose is lower than normal and so is my blood pressure. I have a doctor's appointment coming up and can't wait to see my blood work results. Also, black pepper helps the body to absorb turmeric.
UPDATE: Fasting glucose was 80mg/dL(5.44mmol/L), blood pressure was down, everything else was in the 'normal' range plus my weight was down 13 pounds from what it was in December AND my HbA1c had dropped from 7.2 to 6.4. Doc was very happy for a change and didn't chastise me for anything.
My cousins started eating it often too and saw rest results
You numbers were awesome! Do you mind telling us approximately how much turmeric you consume in a day or week? I’m very impressed with your results.👍👍 Thanks
Oops, asked wrong person, sorry 😁

@@marjiens8163, I make a pot of turmeric rice with 2.5 cups rice, 1/2 to 1 teaspoon turmeric plus black pepper, pinch of salt. Can also add paprika, chili powder, celery stalk finely chopped, 1/4 bell pepper, onion finely chopped, garlic, frozen vegetables. I like adding frozen carrots, peas or a broccoli, cauliflower, carrot mix. I generally eat at least 2 bowls if I don't cook any meat. BON APPETITE!!
Finally I Found Somebody Who Gets Right Into It 🥰
Excellent recipe! I’ve made this about 3 times over the last few months and it’s just wonderful.

Thank you! Followed each step and measurements and it came out perfect! ♥️
Made this and the salt was crazy high. Skip the bouillon cubes black people. That shit is poison.

Great recipe! I used long grain rice but I had to add 10mins extra cooking time and 1/3cup more of chicken broth. I would watch out for adding the broth when you add it to the sauce pan. The broth tends to splash since the temp is still at med-high heat.
I also added frozen peas and carrots after I added the broth.
I generally put my frozen vegetables in the liquid at the beginning along with the spices.
This was a great video! Straight to the point!
Hell yeah girl! I know you can cook bc you used that Goya. Don't nobody know about that Adobo or that Sazon tho
Is the rice cooked ahead of time before being added ?
Nope! It’s uncooked
@@AverysApron thanks
do you cook the rice first I could not tell if the rice is cooked or not cooked overall this looks very good and I definitely will be trying it once you tell me if the rice is cooked first or not

Are there any healthier organic brands of white and yellow rice? I know basmati rice is still white rice but is it healthy. I been eating more brown and black rice cuz I know its healthier. I still wanna eat white and yellow rice just healthier brand
But brown and black rice have more arsenic. Does washing it remove the arsenic? I usually wash it multiple times
Hi, did you put raw rice?
Simple and tasty, thanks for sharing.
Could you sub the tumeric for curry?

I have a quick question. I saw that you had garlic powder and onion powder on the counter amongst the ingredients. Did you use them in the recipe and if so how much? Thanks.

Where are the exact measurements? I can’t find how much rice and water to use
Had some last week had to make some again 😋 🤤
Yum! It’s so good right?! I’m glad you like it!!
This looks amazing! Do you rinse or wash your rice before adding to the pot?
Thank you!! No I only wash it first when I’m cooking it in my rice cooker. You definitely can if that’s what you prefer.. since the goal is to toast it a little, you might need to wash it a couple hours in advance so it will have time to dry out. I’m not sure that the wet rice will toast up the same.
You should always rinse wash your rice is dirty
Currently making this now... 😋
i swear i feel like i can taste this as i watch u make it!! 😩😩
Looks delicious 😋
Thank you!!
It seems delicious. Definetly I'll try to do it then

Love this receipe...can I substitute long grain rice and also what type of pan is that?
Yep you can use long grain rice and the pan is just a cuisinart skillet!
Awesome recipe!!! Thank you!!
To much salt in the rice
Ty
So im a lazy sack of crap and prefer using my rice cooker, is it okay to use this recipe in it or would it cause issues to the rice cooker and/or come out different?
I’ve personally never tried it but I’ve seen videos on tiktok of people making similar recipes in a rice cooker. I think it’ll turn out fine, just follow the liquid/rice ratios that your rice cooker requires instead of the ratio I gave
@@AverysApron perfect. Thank you so much. Ill give it a try soon. :)

Is turmeric hot 🥵
Nope not at all! It’s honestly hard to describe the taste b/c it’s not very strong, it really just gives the rice a nice aroma.
It's nice but you over cook the vegetables.
I will be making this very soon. It looks so good
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it!!
How much garlic ?
I used 2 small cloves
