    Great run thru. Definitely a good tool for some jobs. I super appreciate the reminder that you can not do a 1:1 comparison from electrons to gas.

    good videos thank you ..... I own a Piaggio 1 Active and i love it so much ... this smooth silence driving is a new experience ... with the time you know how much energy you need for the different ways, so you can plan it and sometimes you are surprised how much energy you have left ... you become also a feeling for efficient driving (you will be supported by the various indicators on the display)... mine drives 68-69 km/h on level road ... i live near Basel Switzerland and i use it for driving to work 14km one way

      Great that you are happy with your purchase. I consider the Piaggio one+ for myself. I am 70kg and I hope it can manage minor to medium inclines. What are your experiences with the Piaggio one active? I live in Stockholm and its way less hilly than Switzerland. And what is your range, by the way? thank you for reply! :)

    We live in Spain and have the Active 1. In our village many of the roads are closed to cars and during events all the roads are closed. Scooters and bikes are allowed which makes it super convenient. With 100% charge it will do 70kmh even riding two up. My only complaint is the suspension is terrible especially on cobblestone streets.

      How's real world range? How long does it take to charge?
      And, can you fit second battery imnthe trunk?

      @user-se7vt5ow4e ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Sm00k we have put 1300+ km on the scooter and regularly get close to 60km per charge. Charging time averages2 to 2 1/2 hours depending on how low the battery is.

    In the 70s in the UK we actually had 50cc Vespa's with peddles!

    • @craigcampbell1843
      @craigcampbell1843 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are mopeds. Moped stands for MOtor+PEDals. I had a ‘78 Vespa Grande here in the states. Great bike. I’d probably still be riding it but it was stolen.

    • @1960ARC
      @1960ARC ปีที่แล้ว

      @@craigcampbell1843 I was trying to make the point that mopeds in the UK actually had peddles which is why they were called mopeds.
      I only know of one scooter that had peddles and that was the Vespa, all the other mopeds looked like small motor bikes or big bicycles.
      It was necessary to get around the law so that 16 year olds could ride them.

    • @craigcampbell1843
      @craigcampbell1843 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@1960ARC I can’t stand that everyone calls scooters mopeds now. They are definitely two different things. As someone that has both, it makes it next to impossible to find actual moped parts now because when you do a search online a bunch of scooter stuff comes up instead.

    Interesting that you mentioned NIU: On This Coast, Revel uses their scooters for their ride-share service, and I've ridden them and mostly like them... *when they're new* , that is. The things don't age particularly well, and age quickly at that. The riding ergos aren't great (high floorboard, for starters, and while some gripe about the limited top speed - roughly 30mph - I wouldn't want to take one much faster than that!

    • @craigcampbell1843
      @craigcampbell1843 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the exact same bike but the faster version. Mine does 50 and it still feels perfectly safe. I’ve had mine for a while and it still looks new but it’s not getting rented out to tons of tourists every day like theirs are.

    Man it’s strict there here In Michigan I have a 50cc primavera that I’m allowed to drive at 15 with just a “moped License” that’s just a quick safety test on the computer.

    On paper, the power of the original one is really weak. It looks like a nice scooter for being a 50cc equivalent and good for city commutes. On the other hand, due to the power, will it slow down a lot on the normal hills? anyone that own it can tell me? thanks!

    • @benjamingamer7629
      @benjamingamer7629 ปีที่แล้ว

      @adde ade It doesn’t slow down much on hills but depends on how heavily it’s loaded and if there’s wind blowing against you. It can’t keep its top speed uphill but with a speed limit below the mopped’s top speed, you can give a bit more power. Pushing the speed back up to speed limit. Though it’ll consume more power at that moment

    Recommend getting the M1 license. Then you’re set for that inevitable journey up the food-chain to bigger bikes.
