Assembling the 5.4 Navigator DOHC Long Block for Our $500 Ford F150 Project

In this episode of the $500 F150 tow rig project, we get the Ford 5.4 navigator DOHC engine almost fully reassembled up to the complete long block with cylinder heads, camshafts, and timing components installed. z
This is is approaching the point where we can put it back in the truck and try to turn the key for the first time!

Cool stuff man. I hope you washed those heads. .I'm building a navigator 5.4 also. Just completed 5.4 .020 over , Diamond 11:1 pistons, Eagle Rods, Crower stage 3 cams, Sullivan efi with a T6 88/103 turbo in a Fairmont.

Good video. I have some videos on my channel of my 10th gen F150 projects, one of them is swapping a 5.4 DOHC/4r100 into an 01' F150 I bought with no motor or trans. I did finally get my oil pan/pickup tube situation sorted out and will post an update this weekend.

@@JJinMotion Depends on who you talk to. The 4r100 is regarded as a great towing transmission but the 4r70w is no slouch either. The only reason I went with it is because I had it laying around and that was I can run the truck on a stock navi pcm

The paint on there is a no no it will leak in the future if not the paint will deteriorate an pass through the bearings probably won’t cause any damage but the paint looks very crusty around the coolant pass use a bit of rtv and the gasket

Nice project but please don't use the motor craft timing chain snd sprocket and that cam phaser that at any time will fail had a friend buy three new motors
