    In this video I do a full walkthrough of the pitch functionality on the SP404 MK2. I can't believe I haven't covered this topic yet but a few recent questions in the comments made me sit down and record this one.
    I hope you find it useful if you are new to the SP world, and if you're not hopefully you still learned something new!

    quicker way to reset parameters to default value in the sample edit menu is just to press DEL while you're in there

    Loved the 202 for pitch/time function. Now having the ability to record super long ambient/drones and pitching them down with lots of effects makes the 404 MKII such a great box for me.

    so glad the MK2 actually gave us a real pitching function because MFX 21 on the SX and A were hot garbage LOL. I do find myself using "vinyl" mostly but it's nice to know if you absolutely need to keep the tempo the same there are options to make it sound better depending on the type of sample.
    Thanks for sharing the knowledge bro! 😎

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah man I think it could be good for repitching drum loops maybe, but I'm the same I'm mainly going to stick to vinyl mode just for the smoothness!

  • @yvescharles87

    Great guide, thank you! Do you know how the pitch function you described in this video relates to the scales and key in chromatic mode?
    For example, if I have a sample of one piano note (C), and I pitch it up to D in the parameters, what happens when I open chromatic mode which is set to C Major? Does it somehow set the sample back to C, or does it just assume the note of the sample is the root note of the scale?
    Lastly, how does the sample’s pitch relate to the key and pitch in TR-REC mode?
    I’m not very knowledgeable about music theory and scales and such, so it’s all very confusing for me to try and calculate in my head.
    Sorry for the confusing question, if it doesn’t make any sense no worries, I was just wondering if anyone had figured it out already!
