Saw your comment on a sim racing vid. I have my private as well, immediately subbed up when I saw you are a pilot, apparently you have pace on iracing. Oh Monterey area, right by Laguna. Beautiful view.
Hey man! That’s some cool stuff! I got my PPL in Madera a few months ago and Im studying at UoP in Stockton. Im planning to get checked out in one of Skyview Aviation’s Cessnas soon. If you are ever down to fly and split the cost of rental then lets do it. 😎
Great job, fantastic video. Private pilot here - out in the East Coast. I see more green when I'm flying haha. I noticed you calculated in your head when to begin descending. As a pilot, it is one of those things I'm still working on. What do you do in your head to decide when to begin descending? Again, great point of view in the cockpit, I may have to consider that spot for a camera!
Thanks! People have different styles of doing it but I judge my TOD based on the altitude I need to lose and a vertical speed of 500fpm. I had to lose 2500ft to fly over the airport at 2000ft. 2500ft ÷ 500fpm would mean I would need 5mins to lose 2500ft with a constant groundspeed. When the ETE on the GPS was at 5mins, I started my descent from 4500. I ended up over the field at 2100 because my groundspeed went up a bit as I got lower.
Good hands! You’re smooth.
Thanks!

@@lanceguballa That is a great way to do it. I'm going to try it on my next flight. Thank you!
