All my whippets hated getting wet except my last one. She never minded the rain. She ran in the rain until wet then bring her in and give a good towelling, do the ears and check the toenails.A little snack then in front of fire snuggled in with blankies.
I think one of my favourite things about a wet whippet is the shake that starts from the nose and progresses down to the tail... meaning there is the little cute butt shake last.
What a good boy! My Whippet girl doesn't enjoy showers, but is a good girl and goes to the bathroom after every walk {muddy at this time year} the mud splatters everywhere {her undercarriage} when running... Mine also gets treats and dinner afterwards.
There is no question that my Whippet didn’t love the water however he completely trusted his daddy so he endured without protest with a look of ‘this too will pass’….making the shampoo feel like a massage is also a help along with praise saying his name.
Well done Jed, fantastic shower and control (no jumping out and running for Britain), but the real Superstar here is Freddy !!! Freddy just realised that: "a Whippet's gotta do what a Whippet's gotta do" and the clever boy even knew to go straight to the treat cupboard and claim his treat ... genius !!!
Thank you 😊 I love bathing Freddie way more than he enjoys being in the tub! But we get it done all for the grand prize at the end... A tasteless crumbly biscuit 🥳🫠
That’s amazing dude. Well done and congratulations 🎉 Keep me posted with your journey with the Whip! 😀 more videos to come of course. Thank you for subscribing 🙏
I pop a hand towel into the bath for my whippet to stand on during her shower and put another on the floor when I lift her out. She knows when it's shower time when she sees me getting her bathing kit out. Shower, then shakes, then zoomies in the garden in the summer, heaps of towel rubs and radiator hugging in the winter.
Sweet Freddie! During shedding season I like to use an EquiGroomer on mine, it does a good job on smooth-coated dogs like these getting loose hair and dander off.
@@freddiethewhippett we also love the “Happy Hoodie” for when we use the blow dryer. Works great during thunderstorms and fireworks as well as earmuffs for dogs!
Ashamed to say our dog went without a Bath for almost 14 years. She simply refused! No matter how devious we were in our attempts, she was always one step ahead of us. However, despite that, she was very fastidious in her personal hygiene and always smelt good (at least to us!)
🤣 Well you saved yourself a lot of hassle! Unless a dog is covered in mud or has rolled in poop of some kind. I say they are usually okay! Freddie wee's on himself daily so I have to remove the stink from him quite often hahaha. Thanks for sharing your story!
@@freddiethewhippett Oh yes...my son's Whippet was a boy and he did used to wee up his foreleg ..and occasionally his chest..Girl Whippets are so much easier in this regard {but they can be a lot more wilful than the boys}
Dogs are not meant to smell delicious. Whippets don’t smell at all. I’ve had a whippet for ten years now and never bathed or showered him. He is clean and silky soft. Save your money. He is not happy with what you are doing, mate.
@@digitalimager4946 he wees on his paws and walks among where other dogs have been to the toilet. It’s about hygiene. And as Freddie is a home pet and goes on sofas and beds. I’d prefer him to be clean. You don’t wear your outdoor shoes in bed do you? 🤣 Clean ya dog!
Be sure to check out our other videos! 🥹

Wish I could get mine in the bathtub 😂
Please enlighten us on what you go through when it’s time for a bath! 😄 would love to hear some stories!
so cute
Thank you so much for watching 🥹
If I shut my whippet outside for 5 minutes in June/July he starts that shaking/shivering 😂 proper blagger
Such hardship, poor baby!
He really does have it hard. It's a tough, tough life for him. Today has been especially hard. He had to nap for an entire day. 🥱

I think you managed to stay very dignified Freddie. Humans do like some strange smells though don't they.
🥲 they sure do!
Shampoo and conditioner? I chuck mine in the river once a month!
🤣 but Freddie is a princess!
@@freddiethewhippett I agree...warm water and a warm bathroom and equafleece jumper to dry off afterwards..no nasty cold water for Whippets!
Freddie was shivering, use warmer water!!!! 😉😉😉
🤣 it was warm water! You think id shower him in cold?! I don't think so! hahaha

How come you don't wash his head?
I do it with a dog wipe. No point in soaking his face :)
Switch to baby shampoo. I've used Johnson and Johnson's for years. It's reasonably priced.
Excellent shout! I was shocked when I saw this stuff for £10 🤦♂️
Have you noticed that you have part of your nails blue? ...oxygenation problems.
can't say I have!
