In this shocking video, a dog aggressively attacks a police horse in London, putting both the animal and the officer in danger. It's a disturbing moment that raises serious concerns about safety, dog behaviour, and how we can stop incidents like this from happening in the future. In this video, we take a closer look at why dogs might act this way, the impact on law enforcement animals, and what...

This video is all about appreciating every moment we have with them because their time with us is so short. ❤️ Watching Freddie grow up has made me realise how important ...

DON'T Listen to Google | How Long Can You Leave a Dog For?
I think dog licencing is a good idea. (For all breeds, not just banned breeds) In NL they have dog licencing and it's very expensive, but the dogs there are SO well behaved. While there I met a few Pitts and they were just the sweetest dogs. The sit in your lap type of dogs, also social with other dogs. Here anyone can get a dog, anyone can breed. The tax meant that people put more thought into having a dog because it was extra costs a month/year and no-one was going to pay lots of money for an untrained dog. And breeding meant people had to think about "what if I can't find homes for the pups" it was extra costs.
He's gorgeous 💕
Ban the OWNERS not the Dogs!
My mum's last dog was at risk because of his breed, he was a rottweiler Husky mix. He was the soft dog in the world and i miss him dearly!
Completely agree. I met the most amazing XL bully on the walk yesterday who was beautifully looked after and socialised really well with the dogs I was walking. They should bring back dog licences. Any breed of dog has the potential to be aggressive if their needs aren’t met or they are abused or neglected. Equally any breed can be the most wonderful dog if looked after properly. Hope you and Freddie have a lovely Christmas 🎄
Exactly. I once was almost attacked by a Yorkshire terrier, the owner literally had to pin it down by sitting on it. Animals can be dangerous. So is driving a 2 ton car down the road at 30 miles an hour, that’s why we make you learn to drive. It’s all about education
oh my gawddddd he is so cute . he looks just like my dog but a boy version 🥹
And he cries like that too😮
I’ve got another dog like that I think that’s his brother
Good boy, I have a whippet…they’re all the same 😂
We have just adopted Rudi as his owner had become very poorly. He is taking some time to settle in but we hope we can offer him a comfortable place and a loving human and dog family!
Impossible to get angry at such a sweet pup!!
Blazzin LED dog collars are the best, good for over three football fields away. Try them 👍😎🐕🩺
On our third girl she's 14 weeks old and a real handful as we knew she would be.We were heartbroken when our first whippet passed away this time last Christmas, so,here we are again with another whippet puppy all legs, ears and bluster, bouncing off the furniture and walls. Our other whippet just looks on until the pup has tired and then they just snuggle up as whippets do.Of course I'm a tad biased but these are amazing dogs and once through the mad puppy stage their greatest gift to an owner is their love and gentleness.
Feel free too put his food in a dish. Do you eat from the floor?
@@terrytownsend5583 yes
Watch the 3 cheeky whippets, they make Freddy look good. 😅😅😅😅 All whippets are gorgeous, even if they're naughty they are good. Mine just looks at me with his big brown eyes, and my heart melts
They interact with their human pack members like no other breed, I adore my two boys and can’t imagine a world without them. I don’t know if I would get another (as much as I want to) as I’m getting on a bit and for the first 18months they behave like naughty children just looking to get into trouble. My favourite bit is the cuddles.
It is so handy having a whippet-focused, UK-based channel! We bought an LED collar on Amazon recently that's very similar to the second one you reviewed, and we agree that because only half of the collar is lit up, we can't see any light at all when the dog has her head down (sniffing) or if she's facing directly at us. Maybe we'll try the first collar you reviewed, but I have feeling that it wouldn't fit her well (she seems a bit smaller than Freddie).
@@matthewreynolds4382 hey man! Thanks for watching the videos. Glad you’re enjoying :) The first collar is fully adjustable. You simply cut the plastic to size and slot it back in. I should have demonstrated for the video 😅
@freddiethewhippett Thank you, I think we'll give that first collar a go. If it doesn't suit us, £9 isn't the end of the world!

Love whippets great dogs
Lights are a must at night! Love the tip about going for a blue light, great idea.
Yes they are!
I have a whippet with my ex and we love your videos! I guess all whippets are quite similar, but I think Freddie is the closest I've seen to our boy Max. I grew up with dogs, but I've never met anyone quite as goofy, affectionate and stinky dogs as whippets. Wish you the best!
Mine just licks my feet, because he knows I'm ticklish there.
Is toch niet raar een kluif kauwen in de auto! 😎
He’s at work. Stopping for a snack 🤣
What did he pick?

Waarschijnlijk die het meeste stinkt 😂
Zien en horen alles! 🥰
I know this only too well. We have a Whippet obsessed by squirrels.😅
So many dog walkers think it's ok to let their dog off leash wherever they want. as an owner of a fear agrression (reactive) dog, walking her is sometimes a nightmare with other dogs approaching her. It makes a relaxing walk stressfull.
Hey man! I’m sorry to hear this 😔 I truly believe this comes down to a lack of education with dog owners. Absolutely no off lead dog should be approaching a dog who is on lead. I’ve seen some dogs with banners on their leads that say ‘need space’. Have you tried these? If so, have you found them to be effective?
@@freddiethewhippett Yes, she always wears a bright yellow vest with "I NEED SPACE" on it in large letters, and we still have those people who think it's ok to let their dog approach. Often saying "it's all right he's friendly" I replied the other day "This ones not" only to have a retort of "that's your problem"!
This is from over a year ago. This got enough addressing for weeks. All of your videos about your dog are fine. Now you want to switch content to push your channel?
The specific incident mentioned in this video isn’t the focus of what I was addressing, and its age isn’t relevant to the topic at hand. The point of this video goes beyond that, so I’m sorry if that wasn’t clear.
@freddiethewhippett if that's the case, you just clickbait with the incident. Half a reaction Video.
@@CrimsonCr0wn I’m sorry
I'm so glad me and my dog live in the Sussex countryside, although he ended up in a field with horses, although they ended up playing and taking turns chasing each other
the issue with the licensing idea is who is going to police that? Are people out walking these dogs going to be stopped by the cops and have their license checked? It would have to be a hefty fine if they dont have a licence I suppose. But it is a lot of administration and costs to support that and all for what? so some people can own a special dog breed? It is much easier just to ban them from the public purse perspective. These dogs which were bred for fighting (their single purpose unlike dogs for protection) have no reason to exist...serve no purpose and just present a danger. As you can see from the video they were bred to attack relentlessly, since they were bred from bull baiting dogs and terriers. You cannot police owners...it is too time consuming and costly and not effective. No one needs these breeds...they are strictly a vanity project. They can also go on to be used for illegal dog fighting and so you are feeding animal cruelty by being keeping them going. Sorry but we have a lot bigger issues than saving a dog breed for a tiny minority of people who like them.
Agreed. In the UK dogs are supposed to be microchipped. The whole system is in chaos! No one to police it. Dog wardens few and far between.
You’ve raised some important points, so let’s break this down. First, the challenge of enforcement is valid. Licensing would require resources to ensure compliance, and yes, penalties would need to be significant to deter unlicensed ownership. However, we already enforce laws around driving, gun ownership, and other regulated activities. Why not apply a similar model here? With proper funding, education, and community reporting, it could be feasible. On the topic of banning breeds, this approach often overlooks the real issue: irresponsible ownership. Data consistently shows that many dog-related incidents stem from poor training, neglect, or abuse rather than the breed itself. Bans might reduce the visibility of certain dogs, but they don’t address the root problem-human behavior. As for these breeds having “no purpose,” it’s worth noting that many dogs initially bred for specific tasks, including fighting, have since been rehabilitated as loving companions, therapy dogs, and even service animals. Their potential isn’t limited to their history. The concern about illegal activities like dog fighting is real, but banning breeds won’t necessarily stop such practices; it could push them further underground. Instead, stricter penalties and better policing of these illegal activities might be a more effective approach. Finally, while breed-specific bans might seem simpler, they often lead to the unjust euthanasia of countless animals and don’t improve overall public safety. A licensing system, combined with public education and responsible breeding practices, could strike a better balance between safety and fairness. What are your thoughts on tackling the root causes rather than focusing solely on breed?
@@freddiethewhippett Dogs are bred to have traits . That is why different breeds exist. Terriers were bred to have high prey drive, and to kill. They are high energy and athletic...gameness. Bull dogs were bred to take on bulls, grab them by the face and never let go until the bull was subdued. This bull dog no longer exists but was not at all like the bull dogs of today which are docile. They had self preservation bred out of them. That is why you see the dog in the video taking on a horse and not backing down...as similar video exists and the dog only backed down when it was mortally wounded...just as in dog fighting. When bull baiting was illegal, the dogs were used for dog fighting. That is the history of these breeds. Why would you allow this dog to exist if dog fighting is illegal? I have yet to see a bully breed used as a seeing eye dog. Perhaps you mean for anxiety which any animal can be used for...not really a service dog. Unlike guns (for which there could be a legitimate need) there are so many other dog breeds available there is no reason this one needs to exist. And the issue is these dogs are unpredictable...they are very loving dogs until one day out of the blue their prey drive kicks in and they attack. This has happened so frequently there is no denying it. Guess how often that happens with a labrador, despite it being very widespread breed? You may want to watch the video Pit Bulls Unleashed a Canadian documentary about a women with two 'loving' pit bulls that one day ripped a child from her arms and killed him. Advocates claim staffys are different but it sounds like XL bullies pose a threat. Yes they are a loving breed....that is part of the problem. That is why ppl want to defend them. Euthanizing existing dogs is not necessary, just stop breeding them. Public safety must come first and policing dog owners would not be effective...or else they would do that.
@ It’s true that certain breeds were originally bred for specific tasks, like terriers for hunting or bulldogs for bull baiting. But it’s important to remember that a dog’s behavior isn’t just about their breed-it’s a mix of genetics, training, and environment. While history can explain some traits, it doesn’t mean every dog from those breeds is destined to act a certain way. For example, plenty of retrievers, bred for hunting, live their whole lives as lovable couch potatoes. Sure, you might not see a pit bull leading a blind person, but bully breeds are doing great work in other areas. They’re amazing therapy dogs, emotional support animals, and even work in search and rescue. Their loyalty, intelligence, and love for people make them great for these roles when they’re given the right training and care. The idea that bully breeds are “ticking time bombs” isn’t backed by anything. Any dog, regardless of breed, can become aggressive if they’re mistreated or not trained properly. Studies show that aggression is more about how a dog is raised and treated than what breed they are. Saying a dog will snap “out of the blue” just because it’s a bully breed isn’t fair or accurate. Let’s be honest-stories about pit bull attacks make headlines because they grab attention. But dog attacks involving other breeds don’t get the same coverage, even though they happen too. This creates a skewed view where bully breeds seem more dangerous than they really are. Some places have tried banning specific breeds to reduce dog attacks, but studies show these bans don’t actually make communities safer. The real problem isn’t the breed-it’s irresponsible owners who don’t train or control their dogs. Instead of banning breeds, the focus should be on holding dog owners accountable. Things like mandatory training, proper socialisation, and licensing can make a big difference. When dogs are raised right, they’re much less likely to cause problems, no matter their breed. Calling for bully breeds to stop existing ignores the fact that millions of them are loving, well-behaved family pets. It’s not fair to punish an entire breed for the actions of a few dogs with bad owners. Public safety is important, but we can address that without wiping out entire breeds. We should focus on responsible ownership, education, and training rather than blaming specific breeds. That way, we can keep communities safe without unfairly targeting dogs that, when raised right, are just as loving and safe as any other breed.
@@freddiethewhippetti Yes, the vast majority of these dogs may never attack, you are correct. So are you able to tell which ones are loaded guns and which ones are safe?
Hello! We got our whippet, Wilma, 8 months ago, so she's now 10 months old. She absolutely loves other dogs, can't get enough play time with them! But perhaps that will change as she gets older. I love to see her socialising though, so all good for us! Otherwise, our experience matches yours quite well. Thank you for all of these videos, you helped us make the decision to go with a whippet. Would I get another whippet? Probably yes! A greyhound is a bit too big for me, and Italian greyhounds are a tad too delicate. Whippets just check all of my boxes to be honest - they're great! If I had no dog I'd absolutely get a whippet. If I was considering a second dog, I'd maybe pick another dog just for the sake of variety.
Such a shame. If more people did their research and learn how to care for and train their dogs, I think we'd have much less dog (owner) related problems, and be able to save so many dogs from ill fates.
What is a horse doing in a dog walking park. Is a horse more important than a dog. Just asking.
@@tonyward9804 Police horses are more than just a traditional symbol of law enforcement-they serve as valuable assets in maintaining public safety and fostering community engagement. Here’s why their presence in public parks should be embraced: 1. Enhanced Visibility and Public Safety Mounted police officers provide a higher vantage point, allowing them to survey large areas more effectively than officers on foot or in vehicles. This makes them particularly effective in crowded environments like parks, where their elevated position helps identify potential safety concerns, prevent crime, and respond quickly to emergencies. Their mere presence can deter unlawful activity, creating a safer space for everyone. 2. Improved Accessibility in Difficult Terrain Parks often have varied terrains, including grassy fields, wooded trails, and narrow pathways, where vehicles cannot easily navigate. Horses can access these areas effortlessly, ensuring that all parts of the park remain monitored and secure. This adaptability makes police horses indispensable during large-scale events, protests, or public gatherings in park settings. 3. Community Engagement and Trust Building Police horses are natural conversation starters. Their presence encourages positive interactions between law enforcement and the public, breaking down barriers of mistrust. Children and families are often drawn to the horses, creating opportunities for officers to engage with the community in a friendly and approachable manner. These interactions help humanize law enforcement and build stronger community relationships. 4. Historical and Cultural Value Mounted units have a rich history and are a reminder of the longstanding tradition of police service. Their presence in public spaces like parks reinforces this heritage, adding a sense of gravitas and respect to law enforcement efforts. Additionally, they are often seen as symbols of stability and order. 5. Environmentally Friendly Patrols Unlike motorized vehicles, horses do not contribute to pollution or noise, making them an environmentally sustainable option for patrolling parks. Their quiet presence ensures they do not disrupt the natural ambiance of the park, preserving its tranquility for visitors. 6. Effective Crowd Control In situations where crowd management is necessary, such as during festivals or protests in parks, mounted police are highly effective. A single mounted officer can manage a much larger area than officers on foot, helping to guide or disperse crowds with minimal confrontation. The psychological impact of a mounted unit can de-escalate potentially volatile situations. Conclusion Allowing police horses in public parks is not just about tradition; it’s about leveraging their unique strengths to enhance safety, foster community trust, and protect the natural environment. Their presence benefits both the public and law enforcement, ensuring parks remain welcoming, secure spaces for all.
