I am in Canada & have a SA-8800 I just love . I have other amps in my collection but this is still my primary day to day listen . The fluoroscan is the thing that's mesmerizing .
Hi Thanks to your review I made a decision and bought a Pioneer SA-708 amplifier. Beautiful sound. There's also a TX-608 on the way. Best regards from Chile!
It's a nice sounding 80 watts per channel , more than enough power for my HPM speakers . Keep up the great videos & thanks for taking the time to respond .
@@Boterberg Definitely a good combo. These amps of the past are underrated and over performers ! Those are beautiful speakers and can handle more power but they would sound beautiful together 😊
Had one, was my favourite amp and sold it when I moved. Now I am looking for one once again, really miss that typical sound and the blue light shining in the dark.
Very interesting thank you ! I am having the older cousin SA-606 with black VU meters. Is it true that those "blue line" are little different in midbass because of the preamp section ? I am reading the service manual. And because I saw your SXs reviews, can you tell if it is better to have Pioneer separares (tuner + sa) vs. receiver - your opinion :) in the same family 1977/1978/1979.
Nice amplifier, I was going to buy one of these last year, delivery from UK. But I did not because I was worried about the sound quality because I don't like the 508. But now that you've done a review of this 708 amplifier When I have spare money and one is on offer I may snatch it up.
What speakers and pioneer blue line amp would you recommend . I will be listening to everything, absolutely everything from soul to death metal. Any recommendations are appreciated. Love the pioneer blue line thinking 7800. 8800. I have no idea about speakers
I have the same Pioneer units and i love them ! I have them paired with a CT F750 Cassette Deck and hooked up to a pair of Realistic Optimus 8B's and sounds amazing. Was thinking of also getting the synthesized TX-710L Tuner . Does anyone know if these tunes are good? Will it match the set ?
I had a 608 and a 610 next to each other for making my choice. My previous one was a sa 420, an updated sa410 actually. For sound between the 420/610 and 608: The 420 is good for its size and price point, but you have to crank it up till 3 out of 10 (quite loud!) to get the best sound out of it. The sa610 sounds like a beefed up sa410. Not bad, a lot of power, good sound right on, good with the mids, acurate. If you did not know better you would say the 610 is a perfect amp. But the 608, that is an amp that make you understand what the difference between gut and gutless is. I have not heared a 708 yet, I assume it will have even more. The sa-x08s do color the sound though, you have to like it. Like women with black stockings, some men like, others prefer bare skin. The 610 has a more bare sound for that matter. ;-)
Thats not huge diference, 0.009% is a marketing trick because 0.01 does not seem convincing. The difference between 0.009 and 0.01 is 0.001% (berly audiable or measured), and the difference between 0.01 and 0.02 is not huge!

Andre Henery The 8800 is very rare and i believe a very goo sounding one. More than enough power.

Would they have enough power for pioneer s710?

Just for the looks I would say the Pioneer Blue Line is my favorite stereoset ever. It's like Miami Vice, that is how cool they are :D

@@22Doerk next to a sa 610 yes, though it is not a very big difference. Both amps are quite enjoyable for the money they go!
