I just love vintage silver Pioneer - bought my Sa-9900 in 1980.
She still produces awesome sound today.

What a wonderful informative video. I sold mine just about a month ago for a SA-7800. The SA-7800 sounds completely different to the 708...a little more subdued but a beautiful sound. I wouldn't mind loaning mine to you for a few days to see a comparison video between the 708 and 7800, if you are around Johannesburg. 😉
excellent video. i have that one stored, sadly haven't used for 30 years cause is 220v and i currently have 110v. i still remember the great Quality sound, and beautiful look

I believe those output transistors are actually from the Japanese Fuji Electric. I wonder if the MT200 Sanken transistors like 2SC3264 would fit. Still obsolete, but much more recently.

Hola, muy bueno tu video. Tengo un SA-510 desde 1980 y suena maravillosamente bien. Ahora adquirí un SA-708. Estoy enamorado de él y de la linea azul de Pioneer. Que parlantes me recomendas para el 708?. Saludos desde Argentina

Estos amplificadores son realmente muy buenos y están bien diseñados.
Cualquier buen altavoz moderno es el mejor para conectar al 708. Como los modelos de B&W y JBL.

You will be fine just dont drive the amplifier hard.

Does this amp sound better than the new line of Pioneer like A 616 and 717. because I like vintage amps and receivers and I'm thinking to change my A 717 for one of those.
I dont know if it sounds better but it does sound very good!

Are there any major differences between this model and the SA 608 model other than lower power (45w)?
The best is to compare the two circuits but I know Pioneer never scaled their circuits. Each model had it's own circuit.
Savez pourquoi les faisceaux bleus de cette série on tendance a être désynchronisés visuellement ( droite et gauche ) en cours d'écoute ?
Les circuits de comparaison sont un peu primitifs et donc la réponse pourrait être compromise. Si votre appareil est très déséquilibré, les potentiomètres ne sont peut-être pas réglés correctement. De plus, l'âge des condensateurs est un gros problème. Je remplace tous les condensateurs d'un coup.
@@elektrickerybydee merci de m'avoir répondu , sur mon sa710 oui il y a un déséquilibre de faisceaux pas non plus éxhorbitant mais assez génant tout de même notamment sur les sons ambiants
@@elektrickerybydee donc cela viendrait il des potentiomètres , impossible en tout cas de régler le soucis en jouant avec la balance , j'ai fait révisé l'"appareil dernièrement le gars m'a certifié qu'il ne pouvait rien faire a ce niveau , et ce qui m'inquiète c'est que j'ai vu d'autres appareils identiques sur you tube avec le même souci visuel , j'aurais besoin de votre opinion , merci d'avance 😉

Hi! Yes it is a very good amplifier in any standard. It will be a good amplifier for life. Get it serviced.

I just got my SA-708 serviced and doesn’t sound the same,it was louder before it went for service.
I wouldn’t think of turning the volume past 4,now even if I bring it to 9 it doesn’t even reach the same loudness as it was before
It is possible that your service tech has messed up the circuit! Get it checked by someone compitent!
