I have been using Krita for a while and I hope it gets optimized soon. Transforms are difficult without crashing and this video is just what I needed for better alternatives.
Krita is in fact NOT a vector animation, only hand drawn animation and if I remember correctly, the creators are going to keep Krita as a hand drawn art program. Sure, it has vector, but you can not animate with vector. (A Krita user)
Thanks for the video, very informative. Although it' s not a 2D software, I would add to that list Blender, with its powerful Grease Pencil tool, which is continuously improving and is great for 2D animation in a 3D environment. Sorry for the mistakes.
Thanks a lot for the feedback and suggestion! We're actually pretty interested in Blender (as a 3D package but also as a 2D animation software). We cover it extensively in the 3D channel, but we're definitely planning to cover it more on this channel too. Stay tuned ;)
does krita have animation features now? Not working on anim now, but I remember used inkscape for scratchs, krita mostly post production, and syfig for anim. But krita didn't have animation features if I remember well.
Krita is mostly for hand drawn art and animation. Sure it has tweening, but it's not the best if you compare it with other programs. It's like Flipaclip where moving the objects themselves is better than using the tweening tool (tried it, not the best option for animations that mainly uses tweening but it works / no Flipaclip does not have a tweening tool, but it's the only program I have experience with).
"Shojo no Piero" or "The Doll" by "D`Art Shtajio", it can be found here on TH-cam. Unfortunately it's only 2 minutes long and there doesn't seem to be any sequel available.
I myself work with Adobe Animate and edit with Premier. I have been working with Flash for more than 20 years, I started with Flash MX. I do animate a little differently, combining tweens and frame by frame. th-cam.com/video/0diXKJzjbqQ/w-d-xo.html

Me too hahaha
Krita is nice, but crash easly
I wouldn't say Krita is for vector animation. People who've tried would know why I say so. it's a good vector drawing program, though.
Agree, I actually came here to look for an alternative because the lack of vector control is slowing me down since I am not really into drawing.

Wrong information about Krita.... NO VECTOR ANIMATION.
Theres but yeah thats not very much for vector
It's moreover bitmap. I use krita for frame by frame and I want to use a different one for asset animation.
Yaahh but drawing by vector in krita is ready
adding another thanks for the video, good stuff
Thanks good stuffer xD

It does! I do pixel art and animation using Krita.

Fun fact: all the 2d shots in "diary of a wimpy kid" movie was made in Moho 😉
I will use Toon Boom Harmony soon.
Awesome Video. Thanks
I wanna import my characters (in PSD) and my backgrounds (in PSD0 which one is better for me?
Yeah I love Moho .
If *SynFig* made it in, then I think *Clip Studio Paint* deserved a mention, as well.
My thoughts exactly!
Clip Studio Paint uses raster animation, not vector.
@636 You can still use Vector Layers and use those advantages in creating the art. Besides, when the final render is done, it's all pixels anyway.
Cool Thanx
They are all good
Anyone knows the name of the anime movie show in the Toon Boom Harmony segment with the old man working with toys? Thanks in advance.

thank a lot
Does anyone here has experience with Synfig or Enve? Whats your thought on that?
Does krita really support vector graphic animation?
yes
can i draw a vector character with illustrator !
How about:
Flipbook
And Blender Grease pencil
ClipStudio Paint also. Is the most popular in Japan
Krita's animation feature kinda sucks, and I'm speaking as an artist who mainly uses Krita.
people, tell me, how to vector animate in opentoonz?
It’s kinda annoying that Krita is just frame by frame animation and not like adobe animate with assets and stuff
Basically you need to be skilled to draw
moho is not free
Mi daresti un elenco dei programmi e il link per scaricarli.Grazie ancora
Does moho have a free version?
You can only benefit from a 30-Day free trial for the sake of testing it before making a buyer's decision
Microsoft paint?
tahoma2d and enve2d
clip paint studio
Adobe animate vs Moho🙏🌷
Thanks for the suggestion! It's on our list of "coming really soon", we're going to focus a lot on animation this month

You will like it too much.
