Note this adapter will not give you Android Auto, you will need an AI box of which this adapter will work with the AI box. See my video on AI box options: • Android Auto for the N...
This adapter will also not give you CarPlay on the older Boom Box systems. You will need a CarPlay jumper or Harleys WHIM module for BOOM systems: amzn.to/3YPUAeA

Also, thank you for all the information you provide on your channel. I know I and all your followers appreciate it.
Most welcome! Its been my honor to provide the channel.
Just installed and working fine. Thank You.
Excellent, appreciate the feedback!
I have been using your version 1 and it works perfectly. I’ll tell others about this.
Thank you.
Yep if what you have is working stick with it!
Oh yeah! In the cart it goes. The other Maedhawk adapter, with wire & USB adapter, has been great. But, this little guy is much less bulky. Thanks for the tip.
Yep this is the smallest option!
Thanks for the info man. Yet another amazing tip on the new info system. Just ordered one. I was on the fence for a while with the older versions but this is so small and easy.
Appreciate the support! I think you will find this plug n play option will work well!
Thanks for the help ordered mine as well today!
Awesome! Let me know how you make out with it.
Ordered mine, thanks Tom!
Most welcome, appreciate your support.
I have the 1.0 version but I like the simplicity of the 2.0 version. That said, for the first time in my many years of riding, I bought the Cardo Pack Talk and I’ve really grown to like it.
Helmet headsets are the way to go if you wear a full face. I love my old Sena 20s and used it for years commuting to work. But I love this headset free setup on the weekends with my half helmet.
Ordered mine this morning. Should be here Monday.
Let us know how it goes with it! Appreciate the support!
Thank you sir! Just ordered using your link.
Appreciate the support! Let me know how it works out for you.
Just ordered, thanks!
Appreciate the support!
Thank you Sir! You are the man so resourceful!
Appreciate your support!
Finally. American friends, visiting Rome (Italy), will bring it to me soon. Thank you always for your kind support.
Awesome! These adapters will eventually come to your Amazon site.
Thanks. Maybe, one day, you will come to this old city. 👋
@@francescogalizia337 On the list!
Love Rome and Italy in general! Safe riding!
Thanks Tom!
Most welcome!
Funktioniert: 23.5 CVO SG mit iPhone 16.
Another very informative video. Thanks
You are most welcome!
Awesome Tom.
Thanks!
Thanks!!! Ordered it..
Appreciate the support!
Thanks for the video. I have a few questions that no one can seem to answer and I’m hoping you have tested some of this out. 1. With this setup are you still able to use voice commands while riding like Siri etc using your helmet? 2. With the previous gen you needed a whim and an only a HD branded Sena would work to connect car play and use Mesh at the same time. Curious, if you were to connect a Sena to this for CarPlay on the new bike would you be able to turn on mesh with or without a HD branded Sena? Thanks in advance.
This device will not work as a microphone so you cannot use Siri with it. The intent is to just use the speakers for music / navigation prompts with the new system. Since the new infotainment system supports a Bluetooth headset you do NOT need to use a Harley helmet headset and you can use all of the features of the headset with the new system.
Great video! Thanks. Did you get more snow?
About 2 feet in total, record for this time of year and killed all plans for a ride this weekend!
@ come to Vegas and let’s ride.
I don’t recommend using any adapters in the cubby compartment.
I had a adapter and then the mead hawk.
Mine melted the connection at the adapter.
Yours looks like the adapter happens in the actual mead hawk so you might be ok but I still don’t trust it.
I noticed smoke coming from the cubby when I stoped for gas.
I was able to quickly unplug it but it destroyed The factory plug.
I now have the one that plugs in under the seat and it does just like you said
It looses connection with car play and sometimes it boots back up and sometimes it doesn’t.
Hopefully there is a better solution in the future.
You must be the one others have been telling me about. I have to assume the adapter you were using had a short. The USB C is only 5v 2 AMP but if there is a short it would melt. I have not heard of anyone else having this issue but I have heard of one case and that must be you. The adapter you had must have shorted but the odd of this occurring have to be really small. I get that you would not trust it at this point but for sure this is just a standard 5v 2amp connection on the bike so extremely low risk.
@ just keep a close eye on yours.
hi Tom. another great video. I'm going to try this out. I have a device that plugs into the accy connector under the seat. It frequently loses its connection while riding. I was thinking about calling the guy I bought it from. Maybe there is an issue with it. I like the looks of this so I'll give it a go. I'll let you know how I like it. Thank you for all your hard work for the motorcycle audio community.
Besides the startup power, having the adapter under the seat is a signal challenge at times, being as close to the infotainment system helps. BUT the system overall is still buggy!
Are you using it wired or wireless when it loses connection?
both. I usually go wired. Once in a while I try wireless. But not very often. Any suggestions?
Bluetooth is impacted by other Bluetooth connections but more so WIFI connections. If you have WIFI turned on in the bike, assuming you are not using it for weather or traffic I would turn it off. Remember even with a wired connection if the headset drops, CarPlay drops. Having the adapter under the seat is a challenge for a BT Signal as it is surrounded by power and the ECM / BCM. I think you will have better luck with an adapter in the cubby / tray vs under the seat. I tried a few different adapters under the seat with the heated gear. I ended up with this UGreen option: amzn.to/40I902Y which worked really well, really never lost CarPlay with it BUT I had 2 or 3 other samples that vendors gave me that dropped frequently under the sear.
Chinese friends are so friendly. They sell it at such a low price. Amazon gets a share, and bloggers get a share, too. They are very dedicated.
Politics aside, there just was no USA option here. For me it was about offering the option to get around the crazy Apple or Harley or Government safety policy of a headset requirement. Hopefully we can see this change! Ride free and crank up the tunes!
done..thanks
Appreciate your support!
I'm still having trouble with the android auto option. I have followed your video but I still have a hard time connecting it.
A lot of possibilities here. #1 is to not use the box as a headset. Happy to look at it with you, ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
What can we use if you have a Android phone so we can use our down loaded maps on our phone or waze ??
The only way to use Navigation with an Android phone is to invest in an AI box and using Android Auto. See this video: th-cam.com/video/5ZStEbXO52o/w-d-xo.html
How does this option do for reliability? I had one plug in that cutout alot, then got an underseat one which works much better but 1/10 times will cut off and just not work. Hoping this is reliable and also curious if you going to wired only makes it more reliable. I always plug mine up so might be something i’d consider trying.
I have been using this adapter, a prototype version for about 3 months over the summer, I have never seen it drop. BUT I have seen where CarPlay would not launch at least a few times. I think this is more the infotainment system than the headset. If you have CarPlay on the screen and it goes away that is generally the headset. Now Bluetooth signals are impacted the environment, WIFI signals can cause a lot of interference. I would turn OFF the bikes WIFI if you have that on.
@ thanks will go do that now…. Keep that great info coming.
I'm having problems finding it for my 2003 Road King. 😮
lol! Enjoy the freedom of no stereo. I often miss my carbureted 2003!
so what is the use of having andriod auto or car play without a headset
Ah, if you don't want to talk to the system you can use this to have music and nav prompts through the speakers without having to bring / charge a headset.
Hey Tom,
With this adapter, will my carplay work wirelessly or does my phone need to be plugged into the adapter?
Either way! Your phone will prompt if you would like to enable wireless CarPlay or continue with USB.
@@ITFZone great! Thanks for confirming!
Shouldn’t it be a usb c to lightning to get car play
iPhone 15 and newer are USB C now. So for an older phone you would need to use the USB C to lightning cable. amzn.to/4hHmthr I believe the iPhone 14's come with this cable.
Hi, Tom. I'm not sure if the handle controls on your bike are lighted, is that correct?
The CVO's come with lighted hand controls...
@@ITFZone but if you look for it in harley-davidson parts it doesn't exist. Do you know if it is the same as the 2024? and if it will work on the ST 2024 specifically?
Yes they will work with the CVO ST. I don't believe the part is VIN locked since the ST is a CVO. Your local parts counter can help you here. I suspect we will see the illuminated option for all of the new bikes after the first of the year when the '25's are announced.
Mine doesn't work on 2023 road glide limited. Won't show up to connect for Bluetooth
Remember this solution is targeted for the new infotainment system and not the older Boom. For the Boom system you would need to have the WHIM installed for the Bluetooth connection BUT you really do not need a headset adapter you need the CarPlay Jumper or I have seen it work with a wired headset for those that have the 5 DIN headset plug in the center console.
@ITFZone thank you. What's funny is that flat cable you suggested. I got the A-to-C one and was just checking to make sure it charges my phone since I like it better. My Android Auto comes right up just using that cable. Of course, if I unplug the cable, it goes off. So it makes it wired, but it seems since I have Android Auto on my phone and use Android Auto in my truck, for some reason, it works with just that cable.
On the older Boom system you do not have a headset requirement for Android Auto BUT the bike does not support a wireless headset. So with a good quality USB cable that supports data you would have wired Android Auto or CarPlay. But my understanding is like the new infotainment system CarPlay requires a headset so you have to purchase the WHIM or use that CarPlay jumper to fool it.
@ITFZone for that carplay jumper. I see it also works with android auto. Do you have a video on how to install it?
I do not but CycleFanatix has one: th-cam.com/video/5Utlyz4yX5s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=e1PLkYGrL2PisCL-
Hey Tom
Is this only for the 23.5-24 only?
Thanks
Without the WHIM or CarPlay jumper you cannot use CarPlay on the older Boom System. So yes you would only need this for the new Infotainment systems.
Hi I couldn't get mine to work it does work with Android Auto don't it????
No! This will not work for Android auto by itself. You would need an AI box in addition as the new system does not support Android Auto. See this video: Android Auto for the New Harley Davidsons by ONINCE
th-cam.com/video/5ZStEbXO52o/w-d-xo.html
I see where the confusion is from the Amazon description, it will work for Android Auto IF the infotainment system supports it, which the Harley system does not! They note this in the description, “Infotainment system must support wired or wireless CarPlay or Android Auto that requires a paired wireless headset. Device does not convert wired CarPlay or Android Auto to wireless but only
presents as a headset for this requirement.” I have asked them to change the Android reference. If you have a motorcycle that does support Android Auto it would work.
MaedHawk has responded and will update the description to avoid further confusion but it is Harley that is not supporting Android Auto and the adapter will work for manufacturers that do. Please consider removing the review, I am trying to support their efforts with this adapter as it is an excellent option to avoid the headset requirement.
Anything like this for Android auto?
No, you can use this with an AI box or a system that supports Android Auto but requires a headset. Unfortunately the Harley system does not support AA. See my video on the AI box option.
@@ITFZone so you can use this with the Onince (sp) box???? Just plug in and pair the Maedhawk with the bike. Then hook up the Onince, then pair the phone to the AI box?????
I'm currently using the heated adapter extension cable under the seat to the Tender to micro to the Green thing. It works but as you say if you delay in starting the bike, everything resets and I have to start over, shut the bike down wait then restart.
If I try out this I still like the idea of having another usb plug in case I need one.
Correct, you can use this new adapter and then connect the AI box to the USB C passthrough. You will have much better luck. Anything tied to the ignition causes the AI box to not connect on the first attempt and once it fails it will never reconnect until you power cycle the bike again.
@@ITFZone good deal then, I'll put my order in.....
There isn’t in Italy 😢
Nope not yet! Since it is so small I would be happy to purchase and mail it to you. If so reach out in email: ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
What about for android users?
See this video: Android Auto for the New Harley Davidsons by ONINCE
th-cam.com/video/5ZStEbXO52o/w-d-xo.html
Hi, it also works with android
It works as a headset connection for any system that needs one BUT your system must support Android Auto or use an AI Box. A lot of confusion with this stuff thanks to Harley’s setup.
👋👋
Thank you! Thank you!
Great video as always. When is Harley going to release a new software update? It’s been awhile….
I agree! There has been nothing all summer. Harley has had a history of updates in January but who knows. I keep checking!
