    I had done Curology for a bit and then discontinued. I was prepared to sign up to Agency, but couldn’t get past the questionnaire portion. I ended up sending an email complaining about it. 6 options for gender and not a single one was “woman.” I’m open to adding categories that make a few people feel seen, but I refuse to be redefined to make someone else feel comfortable about themselves. I just can’t be silent about it. If they add “woman” as a gender choice, I’ll consider subscribing again.

    • @michy2630
      @michy2630 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      Are you serious? Woman is not even an option? I was thinking of using them too. Not now. I actually just emailed them. I see what you mean. Man or woman is not an option in the identity section. It is cisgender man or cisgender woman

    • @alleycatb
      @alleycatb ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that is pretty fussy since cisgender woman literally means born a woman and identifies as a woman.

    A change from Elta MD sunscreen 44???!!! Wow! Based on your recommendation, I have used it for two years. I love it for the slight moisturizing feel and how well it works under my makeup, nearly like a primer. And it is great by itself. This year, I am reminding myself to use it every single day. Going to work on more lightening of sun damage before my daughters wedding in July.

    I want to thank you for the recommendation of the Lancome Teint Idole matte foundation. I am 66 years old and holy cow, this is the best foundation I’ve ever used in my life. Now that I have such a mature skin, I hated using a foundation, because it always seemed to accentuate fine lines and wrinkles but this is a dream! Absolutely love it!! You mentioned Elf products and I know you are a fan of the Clinique cleansing balm but I use the elf holy hydration make up melting cleansing balm which is really good. Doesn’t irritate my eyes whatsoever. And it’s a nice price point at about $11 from Ulta I believe. Thank you for all your informative videos. I’m glad I found your channel!

    Thanks again, Angie for this excellent year roundup. I just want to mention that I used the Mychelle and adored it for all of 2021. At some point in 2022, i started noticing a reaction to my skin which I thought had to be something else. I don't have a wheat allergy at all, and I used this product for a year and a half with no issues. There's something new in the formulation, and I had to throw out an almost full bottle of the stuff. One other thing... I want to congratulate you for reaching 1 million subscribers! Did TH-cam send you your plaque yet? Happy 2023 to you and yours.

      I had the same experience. Allergic reaction that lasted 2 days after I removed it. I wrote to the company to ask about formulation changes. They had switched from SPF 30 to SPF 50 with a higher level of zinc oxide. They sent me a new supply of SPF 30 and it is more tolerable for me. I am sensitive to other all mineral formulas where I get very itchy. Seems the higher the SPF, the worse it is. I suspect it’s how small the particles are and the concentration needed to get the SPF rating. Mychelle now only sells the SPF 30 on their website.

I have followed some of your advice in terms of products and skin care and some of it has worked really well. It turns out though that my upper eyelids and the corner of my eyes are very sensitive to some of the acid based serums/products. Shame on me for not stopping immediately after experiencing some irritation. Now I have some skin tags in those areas as a result. You may want to make it very clear that those areas can be very sensitive and your followers should test a small area and discontinue if there is any discomfort.

    Angie, I use a very similar skin care routine. I modeled my skincare after your recommendations. Thank you for not changing all the time just to sell stuff! I too am 60 and feel my skin looks great! (As great as it can! Haha). Just got the Omnilux mask and love it! I also get a fraxel laser every year. Watched your video years ago. That has helped so much! Thank you Angie!

    I just made the switch from Curology to Agency. One of the things I hadn’t realized was that the Curology formula is used mainly for those with acne/etc., while Agency is formulated for anti-aging/more mature skin. I’ve only had it for about a week, so I don’t have any thoughts to share yet! I appreciate your suggestion for the moisturizer (by ELF, I think?). I want to use quality ingredients, which sometimes means spending more, so any time I can find a product that’s less expensive, I’m excited!
    Thanks for all you do with your reviews and stuff. Have a fantastically happy new year, Angie, and I’m looking forward to another year together! ❤🎉

    Another great video! Thanks for sharing. I was one who ordered Nira and waited awhile. My issues were never heard anything from them except they took out my $$. So I had to contact them numerous times. Then after not hearing from them thru various ways. I was told not in these exact words but same meaning… take away my negative comments and I would get refunded. I had noticed bad comments were disappearing where there were issues like mine. So I asked them straight up is that what they meant. And next thing I know I got refund. And no I kept reviews up. My other issue is there were at least 2 other influencers that had the same deal with Nira as you. They were even before yours. I believe Nira should have been very aware influencers at 50% off were going to get Nira slammed. That’s all on them. My comments on Nira are based on my experience and was not good.
    But did order the Omnilux and got it fast. They were great.

    Fortunately I had the same result using a quartz facial roller compared to using Nuface - I did one on each side of the face for 60 days. I believe the main benefit from Nuface is lymphatic drainage that reduces facial puffiness. As well as I ncreased blood flow and the muscles are moderately “exercised” causing mild inflammation which makes the face look slightly lifted. But Nuface results don’t last, as Angie also states … maybe a day or so. Same effect with facial roller. There are no scientific studies proven to show increase in collagen over time. I think it can be part of daily skin care routine to reduce puffiness and temporarily look more refined with a far reaching hope of some anti-aging benefit over the long haul.

    skinsciencebymira- I mentioned this post a few monts ago regarding L-ascorbic acid with copper peptides-
    Go ahead and mix your peptides and exfoliating acids! But skip the copper peptides and ascorbic acid... watch to see why.

    Share this with a friend and help me debunk this myth! I would love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments as it was an experiment for fun on my stories and you all asked for a reel.

    While peptides can be hydrolyzed (a decomposition reaction involving water where the peptide bond that connects the amino acids is broken down), this is a very slow reaction even when we add a catalyst or heat to speed things. So go ahead and layer!

    Ascorbci acid and copper peptides though... there’s cause for concern. AA is a reducing agent/antioxidant and donates electrons to free radicals which are unstable due to their unpaired electron. AA is unstable and becomes oxidized after donating as few as 1-2 electrons. Because it’s a chelating agent and can act on free metal ions like copper specifically, there has been concern of this redox reaction occurring if you layer them on your face.

    I tested this theory out yesterday on my stories. I figured that either the ascorbic acid would become oxidized OR the copper II in the copper peptides would become reduced to copper metal and turn brick red. Not a scientist so it’s just a helpful visual really but looks like both occurred.

    I suggest not layering together as both oxidation of the ascorbic acid or reduction of the copper ions could potentially reduce efficacy.
     Follow for me for more nerdy investigations lol.

    Shoutout to biochemist Dr Pickart who did all the research on copper peptides and warns against this combo. I also love both the @dermalure and @ncnskincare products pictured here, they're excellent.

    Happy Birthday!
    I'm not a guy, I still enjoy your videos.
    2022 has been good for me. I have been using the Omnilux LEDs for nearly 3 years, now. The results are so noticeable. I use them before I go to sleep for the night.
    When using the Omnilux gloves, I wet my hands then apply CeraVe Vitamin C serum. The skin has thickened & all brown spots are gone.
    Also, I use the Omnilux LED masks for face, neck & chest for 20 minutes before bed, then, wet my skin with a light mist of water. Then, apply CeraVe Retinol Serum. All fine lines on my face are gone. The banding that was beginning on my neck are barely there & fading. The skin has tightened & thickened. Great results with Omnilux.
