@@DW98rosy those were so clunky and ugly, I hated them. I loved returning to the classic open rear wheel style. I must also say, the aero screen on the current cars have grown on me compared to 2020
Thank you for posting the full race! I attended the race with my wife and kids , had a blast and really enjoyed the increase in excitement and overtaking !
you really think so? the pit stops and strategies are easier to understand in f1 because there's no refueling, and with the tyre rules, you know when someone is yet to stop. The onscreen info is probably better in f1 as well, more detail and to static list on the side is better. I really don't like the commentary for IndyCar either, there's not a lot of analysis, even from the ex drivers, and they were completely silent at the start. F1 isn't as complicated as people say, only the technical side is, which if you have an interest for, you can eventually learn. If you don't, you don't miss out on anything. Its still in a bit of a mess with rules though, hopefully it'll be ironed out by 2021, but it's not something that'll change overnight. I love that IndyCar has full sessions available on youtube though, thats great for non American viewers, shame it won't ever be that easy for F1
Omg thank you Indycar, I was really disappointed when I saw that no TV channel in Quebec would broadcast the 2018 Indycar season, and now I can watch it on youtube, thank you
BT Sport has pretty good coverage. They get the same thing as above (largely) but they fill in the advert breaks and 'side by side' stuff with their own coverage (they only go to adverts during some yellow flag periods)
You guys are awesome Indycar ! You really treat fans well. I missed the race. Forgot to record it. Oh, that's right. Indycar is that lone awesome racing series that posts it after the race. You guys rock. Seriously. This is awesome.
Thank you so much for uploading these races. They're the only way I can get to watch them. To pay you back I always 'like' and as often as poss, let the advert run. It's only fair ;-) Looking forward to the whole season with you! Just one thing, it's bAnzai, not bOnsai... (the first is a cry of enthusiasm often associated with the 'banzai attack' - ie yelling enthusiasm as they go for it. The latter is the small tree sculpture thing) Hope this helps ;-)
Stark Raven I'm disappointed that no action was taken. Rossi lost control before he even got to the quarter panel of Wickens to attempt to make a dive pass. Whether or not Wickens squeezed is irrelevant because Rossi was already out of control.
I'm an American motorsports fan but I've never tried out IndyCar :( The cars look awesome and I'll definitely be following for the 2019 season. Thanks so much for uploading the races!!!!
Seems like there is more competition and more action with this new chassis. This new Indy Chassis is beautiful! Reminds me of the Panoz Dp-01 champ car!
I totally expected there to be extended post race we didnt get watching live. Yes, the telecast went into NBA Countdown, so I figured that ABC/ESPN still did interviews with Rossi, Wickens, Coyne/Vasser, the podium, etc, and that "off air" content would be shared. Boy is this disappointing
Wish IndyCar would bring back some crazy high fown force aero packages like the 2016-2017 cars had. They looked awesome and were the fastest IndyCars on road & street courses ever!
What an amazing race! Thanks to Indycar for uploading the broadcast. I will follow Indy throughout the season. Indycar is sooo much better than the highly overrated F1. Thanks for the great racing America!
Indycar is quickly becoming one of my favorite motorsports. And Helio is becoming one of my favorite drivers. Was mostly into motocross and rally when I was younger. Getting into pavement sports more over the last few years. NASCAR - Gave it an honest chance. Barely gagged my way through the opening prayer/invocation. Format is unnecessarily convoluted, races are boring, driving is dirty. Drivers are allowed to get away with so much garbage, it's more of a survival sport than a competitive race. Endurance (WEC, etc.) - Good to leave on for the weekend and have it follow you around on different devices. Wish there were more cars in the LMP1 field. Much more team oriented, so individual driver talents are hard to distinguish. Highlight-oriented, hard to sit and pay attention for 12-24 hours. MotoGP - Hard to put anything above MotoGP if you have any love for 2-wheeled vehicles. Intense, competitive track action throughout the field, good mix of winners from week to week. But still possible to dominate with a good bike and phenom level rider. Rallycross/Stadium Trucks - Flashy, exciting, and fun, but will never take the place of precision-based motorsports. Indycar - Good mix of everything. Cars are advanced and quick, but don't do all of the work for the driver. Indy 500 is the only oval race I find watchable, and it's one of the best events of the year. I would love to see this series visit more tracks around the world... but then the "GP2" jokes would be unbearable.
Sad to learn about Wicken's crash later in his rookie season putting him in a wheelchair...glad to learn he's on a path to rehabilitation and got in a car a few months back: edition.cnn.com/2021/05/08/motorsport/robert-wickens-race-car-wellness-spt-trnd/index.html

I really have to compliment this racing Series, the broadcast is so smooth, the commentary has some good insight and its quite humorous too. Driving is exiting and I plan on watching the whole season until the new one starts in March! I am really pumped for the new season!
De Apenhoofd I think his team was confused about whether the race was going green. Sloppy job from Indycar making it clear the race was green. That’s why Wickens was late on the gas. Hopefully we’ll see him back soon! Get Well Wickens!
Rossi clearly got a line inside of him and instead of adjusting he just continued on his line. Rossi has more right to be angry because Wickens cost him the win IMO. Rossi made a clear legit move for the lead and was about to pass Wickens in a legitimate move.
Gaming Room I’ve always liked Helio, but he failed to deliver a championship while many teammates won them. He didn’t deserve anything... he just was not able to deliver when it mattered. I remember him having many weak races which translated to a lot of 2nd place finishes in the Indycar championship. I think that’s why Roger decided to move him to his sports car team and only bring him back for Indy.
lol Indycar officials don't penalize things like this because they want to encourage aggressive racing (it's better for the fans). Rossi even said afterwards that Wickens has "a right to be upset". Rossi was impatient, he could have waited until the next lap to attempt an overtake. He didn't have to banzai into the corner.
Eh, I can't really blame him for losing traction a little while everyone's still adjusting to the lower-downforce cars. Especially not on the second-to-last lap on a street circuit. Looks like there might've been a brake balance issue, too.
As an F1 fan i want to see other Motorsports bc F1 is getting boring Indy looks very attractive should i watch it ? (And do they upload the whole season here on youtube ?)

looks like they got it right with the car's aero. It's great to see opposite lock steering(oversteer) I think Indycar and Formula E are going in right direction with elimanating some downforce through the simplifying of wings and winglets etc
I've watched this race for the third time and have commented enough about Wickens being robbed from his first Indycar win. However, the one thing that I am now realizing - the ABC sportscaster here are really not bad. Cheever, Goodyear, and Bestwick put on a good commentary for this race. Not really sure where all the 'hate' is coming from for Cheever and Goodyear. ABC and their coverage - timing with ads, camera views, additional air for pre and post race - now those are all atrocious. Glad to see NBC taking the entire kit and kaboodle for 2019-2021!

Saving weight and money is the official reason given, but in reality they want yellows for ad-breaks & artificially spicing up the "racing".
