RIP Indy car race at Phoenix don't know if Indy car will ever be back. They should have held off and given this race 2 more years to build and grow. With the new reconfiguration I think Indy Car's best days were ahead at this track, but it is what it is moving on!
These days there are a lot of F1 fans here in AZ. If they did a race out here on a road course or a street circuit, I bet there would be a lot of people interested. This was an excellent race. Maybe not edge of your seat excitement with constant passing throughout the field but that should really not be the expectation. There is no advantage to being behind here so it's all down to simply being the better driver with the better car and if you got that you could make a pass stick. That's what racing is about and in the end we saw the best driver with the best car win. All credit to Indycar for keeping the track green when possible. On three occasions, a caution could have been called but wasn't and although some might like the pack to be bunched up with a restart from time to time, the impact on strategy it has is a real burden and I am glad Indycar tries to limit cautions to when absolutely required for safety.
I still like PIR .I grew up on PIR . More seats, and less people . Sad but true . I have driven shifter karts on the road course . Nothing like waking up in the motorhome at the track .
These 2018 Indycars are beautiful. Look at how the driver is in the middle of the car, it looks balanced. But, if you look at the profile of the 2018 F1 car, there is almost 2x the space between the driver and the rear wheels versus between the driver and the front wheels... the current F1 car resembles a squashed van in profile.
Sometimes it's hard to associate myself with Indycar fans because it seems like people like you make Indycar fans and the organization itself insecure.
Mario Maker uhh don't you see it? Indycar fans always comparing itself to NASCAR,F1, or whatever other Motorsport/sport they want to compare. It makes indycar look insecure and that what sometimes turns me off from the sport.

Well, born rich then sold out fans and the series leveraging the IMS to blow up American open wheel racing to becoming even richer, so I'm sure in his mind he did very well, indeed and hard to argue, from a purely selfish point of view. That aside, SB's livery was one of the coolest ever.
I know I'm late to the party, but are they running the coarse backwards? Like using the Nascar backstretch as the front? And do they not go now onto the apron like nascar?
They are racing the old track layout at PIR before it changed just a few years ago, this was right before the moved the start finish line and tore down they old front stretch stands and they where also building the new infield at this time too. Also yeah Indycar doesn’t race below the yellow line like nascar.
I went to the race, it was Great ! I hope Indycar return to Phoenix one day I know they change it But, should leave it alone. They need to leave the ovals alone.
My Father and I went to every Indycar race IRL/ Indycar in Phoenix it was Great need race at Phoenix more , and promote right and it would be Great. I would go again. IMS is first and Phoenix is second to me. It is alot passing just make them. More than one grove of course make another grove grove and a half is good.
Actually the races this season so far have been pretty exciting and most of the cars are actually competitive, unlike last years races that usually ended in a procession.
the cars are not even close to competitive, the only reason anybody is even saying that is because MB hasn't won yet. but the gap between the top 2 and the rest of the field is embarassing
Phoenix track was the short oval so they will use the high downforce aero, but for the long oval they will use the oval kit. That means not every single oval will use the oval kit
I don't think accidentally hitting your crew member should be a penalty. It's already taking extra time for them to do their job after they've been hit. That's penalty enough.
i remember going to the races in the 90's and there was so many people some people had to sit on the hills.
That changed when PIR sided with the IRL.
