I vividly remember the quarry off Dodworth Road. We moved into Branksome Ave in 1972 and it was still there packed full of wildlife, particularly frogs. Long gone now.
I have a feeling I recognise my great great great grandfather in the Blacker Hill quarry pic. He lived at Blacker Hill. I have a letter he wrote from there to his father in 1896. Robert Wilson.
Apologies Stuart. It’s just that some of them look familiar to others. I suppose it’s down to the similarity of the different structures built over the years plus the colour of the pictures.
