@@waterbreather9448 Nah a desk job makingt about 89k a year. Just out in middle of nowhere and the town there is just country hickville and terrible schools so I live closer to civilization
It's nice to see a longer term ownership review. I found a dealer that doesn't charge a mark up or add a bunch of unnecessary things to a car so I placed an order for an EX with the premium package in gravity grey with the black interior about 6 weeks ago. I went back and fourth about what car I wanted but the K5 checked off a lot of boxes plus they look and drive really good. Once it gets here the windows are going to get tinted and I'll have some PPF put on at least the front of the car and the door handle areas by a local shop. I'm not really a huge fan of Pirelli tires so I'll probably end up dumping those for something different. How well do the auto highbeams work on these? It seems like most cars can't tell the difference between reflections or street lights and other cars. I can see myself turning off the auto part and just using them manually.
Honestly I regret it I should have bought a Honda Toyota anything but this POS car transmission acting up so is the engine the cheap ass interior making all kinds of noise now when you drive a/c not blowing cold all this with 11K miles and Kia customer service bah they have no customer service I know you don't know me from Adam but listen do not buy a Kia stay away ... Not to mention with 11K miles the most I can get in a trade in is 15K
My K5 GT LINE has 21.000 miles on it, and the pirrelis on it still have plenty of tread on them !! How did you burn them down with only 9000 miles?? I also get consistently 28, 29 mpg around town, and 38 39 at 75 80 on the freeways here in Southern California. Also, I never have issues with it peeling out, unless I'm really giving it the beans. You must have a heavy foot to be dealing with that! Lol.
Never trust Hyundai Kia dealership on additional work. I actually don't even bother going in for inspection even while under warranty. Just visit local cars hop for oil change and basic maintenance. Costs far less.
I bought a kia k5, in 2021, but I kept my 17 Elantra I bought new in 2016. Its been absolutely awesome, o repairs, 0 isues, it has 98.000 miles on it now. Every time I've taken it to the dealership for an oil change I ask them to check everything out, for 5 years, not once, did they tell me it needed anything. They just tell me, everything is in good shape, it doesn't need anything.
I don't even understand how the EX is a higher trim than the GT, GT gets you 100 Horse power and if you throw in the GT1 package (4k) it will be maxed out feature wise. I have a 2023 GT with 30k miles with the OG tires and I haven't experience anything like what you have with the EX witch is lacking 100 HP and turbo.
I have the exact same car, it looks beautiful clean, I was to obsessive with every microscrath but I personally enjoy washing and waxing with Meguiars Ceramic Wax, hides a lot, I get a lot of compliments on it. Love hate thing. I originally brought home a sapphire blue GT line that I loved, but if I could get any other it’d be wolf gray or maroon.
To be honest I have noticed little to no difference. Actually seems I lost 1 mpg since it was installed. Not really surprised but had slight hope with the turbo maybe I’d notice it more. Biggest reason for install was to be done with the $30 oem filter with no real after market replacements. After one cleaning of this filter it will have paid for itself.
Use the the recommended oil but instead of the sae 20 use the sae 30 instead which is thicker and accounts for all heat conditions instead of the 20 which is thinner and the oil problem will go away!
Dont waste the money on the drop in. Only benefit is not having to buy a new filter just have to clean it. But you will still need an original to use after you clean the filter and let it dry. No fuel economy or power gained.
2+ years deep on my 2022 k5 gt line. At 50,000 miles and still driving wonderful.
thanks for the comment purchasing a 2021 with 59,000 miles. seems to be a solid vehicle as far as reliability and looks great
I got it 3 years 100,km and working great few things like gas door and the gear shifting didn't like it but car still doing the job

12:00 this is not a sign of wear down it's only dirty u should clean it with a leather cleaner and a brush
Brush cleaned and have religiously used leather treatment and cleaner.

Totally agree on the tires. My wives car had pirelli tires and sucked.

Blue or wolf grey. If not those white would be my third choice. Black looks so nice but ages terrible.

how's it running with the K&N filter?
