    Another great vídeo. This whole line give me a sensation of relaxing. I think this is the best way to enjoy, better than the effect of transporting to places. I found the comparison of Acqua di Parma pretty interesting, i like those line too. They talk a lot eachother.

      @@leonardhok I agree and I wish that this would be more focused on that ‘relaxing’ aspect rather than trying to be a perfume.

      I agree. This is my favorite line from Hermes, and I love it for the clean, relaxing, calming feel that the line gives me. I've never felt like it transports me somewhere, though. Maybe this is a case of bad marketing?

      @@SteveDeMentPhotography Hermès is not a niche brand making ‘experience perfumes’, that is the issue. Ellena also has a traditional approach to perfumery and was probably following a brief.

    I have used a full bottle of this long ago. A very long lasting fragrance . I could smell mangoes and flowery notes in this but gave me and allergic reaction but I was fortunate enough to use it up. Never repurchased . I have tere de Hermes right now and it’s good smells like burnt roses to me . Got a few compliments too but it’s ok not my favourite.

      @@ra.j7210 never got any of the talked about mango note! To me it was citrus and herbs. Really good but not for me 👍

    Thank you for the review, Daniel!
    My understanding is Mr. Ellena did not have much liberty in regards to creating this collection. The oriental scents idea he had before he took the trip to Egypt were blown away by the actual vibe of the area. Allegedly, he decided to focus his attention on the green mango fruit, hence the green vegetable character of the perfume base, minus the acetone one would smell off unripe mangos. Instead, he used aroma chemicals to mimic lotus and carrot seeds, to further accentuate the special (=weird) character of a green mango.
    Regardless, as much as I appreciate the initial freshness, I think there's better ones out there.
    I'm looking forward to the next review!

      Thanks so much for the interesting insight! I’m sure that with designer brands such as Hermes the perfumers are very constricted in what they can do. I do think it’s a good scent but I agree, there are similar things out there that could be considered “better”.

    The last time I wore it, I emptied a decant while playing golf and all I got was orange rind. Very basic sillage. I might as well have been wearing a niche version of Zara's Vetiver Pamplemousse. Kinda ruined it for me. Characteristic Ellena greenness though, which I'm a fan of. But as a personal scent, I prefer Eau d'Orange Verte.

      Have you tried the rhubarb one? I hear that one is really good!

      @@SeldomlyOften Wore out a small decant and it's definitely in the same uplifting and crisp style, but I wasn't impressed tbh. I picked up Jo's Rhubarb instead for the same kick at a much lower price. Sadly now discontinued. In the Jardin line, Mediterranee and Monsieur Li were the 2 that worked the best on me. And Eau de Citron Noir was good, if it lasted more than 45 minutes. 😵‍💫 Recently tried Herbes Vives and although it's easily my fav of the H24 line, Nagel is still going heavy on the synthetics to lift up the greenness. Not so much a fan of modern Hermes. Now the old stuff....sign me up.

      @@justaddlight I really need to try some Hermes private line, most of the modern offerings to me are pretty forgettable.

    which other fragrances are more transportative that you mentioned?

    • @SeldomlyOften
      @SeldomlyOften  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really depends on the style of fragrance but staying in this segment I think the Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo line is pretty transportative and so is something like Bois 1920 Oltremare or Pacific Rock Moss by G&B
