In my personal quest to get caught up on gaming, I have realized one thing, and that is that game music is so underappreciated. So Jon, please keep these coming. This is a fantastic idea for a series.
Could make a great retro-themed episode, especially since there tends to be so much modern stuff in these videos. Maybe someone like AVGN, Joe from GameSack, MVG, Metal Jesus Rocks, the guys from My Life in Gaming or so many more. The retro gaming scene on TH-cam is quite large with many, many interesting guests and although I don't know if some of them would be willing to do this, it would be nice to give them some spotlight outside of their usual niche.
I wonder if it might be better to have more specifically themed episodes and choose guests who'd be good matches for the themes so people don't get screwed because the tracks that were chosen just happened to be stuff they didn't played too often. The spectrum of games that can be chosen from is so large that I think it's very easy for that to happen when you just choose from anything

We must all agree on this. What's That Track deserves a much higher viewing count and more recognition. It's just so good and we as a society need more of it 😑
This was so much fun to watch! Felix and Madz have such a great chemistry and they bounced off of each other and Jon super well! And I think being around the same age range as them helped a lot with my enjoyment too. Definitely could relate to them a lot more as I ALSO was not familiar with the vast majority of tracks here, haha. Give me any song from Mario or any of its sister franchises and I'll get it immediately! I'm pretty good at Kirby, Zelda, and most concrete Nintendo series, really. But everything else is basically a mixed bag as to whether I've played that game or if it's in one of those niche games that I played as a kid! Really great job everyone!
Within a second of hearing Shadow the Hedgehog I could’ve sung the whole extended thing, I’ve never been as excited for a game as I was as a kid for shadow the hedgehog (sonic movie 3 will be amazing💪)
I only got the Metal Gear Acid 2 track because of Somecallmejohhny's Metal Gear marathon and he reviewed both Acid games, that's a really deep cut. Ngl this was probably the most difficult episode for me. I knew what the franchises were, but so many I couldn't get

@@lambiepie6436 I'd say it's still surprising, I'm slightly younger than Felix and have known the Battletoads pause theme for years (not to mention knowing the series at all) It's no big deal but since he works in games coverage you'd expect him to know classics like that.

@@internetguy7319 I recognised a few but I did exactly what Felix did and guess Persona (5 in my case) as I litterally just started the game on Sunday and was like "That is Persona 5!" I was wrong, it was Metal Gear.
I was only able to identify 6 of the tracks but I did recognise all 6 of them almost instantly. {spoilers for some of the answers below:} 2:50 -- The Wii Sports Boxing results music is pretty iconic and it also unlocked a memory in my brain. I wonder just how long it's been since I last played it? 4:40 -- I got this from the first 2 notes. Satorl Marsh (Night) is one of my favourite relaxing Xenoblade songs. 8:18 -- If I got Satorl Marsh from 2 notes I think I might have got this from just 1. I am a big fan of the Splatoon series and its music and Tidal Rush (story mode final boss phase 3 of 4) is one of my favourite songs from that series, partly because its a really good song but also because of its story relevance. 17:27 -- Another one I got from 2 notes. Ori is one of those games that has really stuck with me because of how atmospheric it is and the music plays a key part of that. Since it wasn't stated in the video I believe this song is from the escape from the Ginso Tree. 19:42 -- I've never played a Katamari game but I am familiar with Rolling Star as it's a pretty recognisable song. 21:20 -- Destroyed Skyworld is not only one of my favourite songs from Uprising but it's also one of my favourite chapters in that game.
IDK why, but the music at 6:10 sounds like if shostakovich composed game music. It reminds me specifically of shostakovich's piano concerto no. 2, I guess because of the slightly different tonality they both use.

I immediately got the Battletoads pause music. I also got Pokemon Stadium. I knew it was a pokemon game, and that it played during a mini game. Couldn't place it other than that. That was it... Pretty cool segment though!
I feel bad, since he seemed really excited, but it was actually the worst performance from anyone on this show from a points perspective. He actually did worse than Derrick and Brandon.
