I recommend using it right away. It doesn’t take too long to mix up a batch. I did notice one batch that I left in my work room turned watery a few hours after I finished making my prints.
I used the same screen and process to print on each of the shirts. The bleach affected them all a little differently so it looks like different colors.
Excellent directions - detailed, well edited, and with exact measurements.
Thank you- glad you found it helpful!
Great video, will be using this technique with some printmaking designs on fabrics
I’m so glad to hear that!
Awesome video, already have an idea for this.
Awesome. I can’t wait to try it. I tried bleaching shirts for sublimation but that was an epic fail. This method looks so easy. Thanks Jennifer!
Sublimation is tricky with choosing the right blank. I love that this method will allow you to use 100% or.a variety of blends!
This is crazy Jennifer! I love your awesome ideas!!!
Thanks, Rachel!
I love it. Trying this method. Thank you for sharing
Yay! I’d love to see what you make - tag me if you post to instagram or TikTok - @pigskinsandpigtails

What’s your hydrogen peroxide/water mixture? How long do you soak for

Do you have an estimate on the shelf life of the bleach gel mixture?
Awesome video!
I recommend using it right away. It doesn’t take too long to mix up a batch. I did notice one batch that I left in my work room turned watery a few hours after I finished making my prints.
What mesh number are you using? Awesome video, cheers!!!
Thanks! This is a 110 mesh Speedball screen: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/speedball-10-14-frame
Can you use Clorox Bleach Toilet cleaner instead of the mixture?
I’m not sure about that, I haven’t tested it out
Hey! Does the bleach not eat through the silk screen? I don’t want to ruin mine- they’re expensive!
I didn’t see any changes on my screen- I wouldn’t recommend leaving it on for any longer than necessary though!
Hi. how many ml of water did you put in the pan?
You can find the gel recipe and more details on my blog post: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/2022/04/how-to-screen-print-with-bleach-gel/
How did you get the color on the other shirts?
I used the same screen and process to print on each of the shirts. The bleach affected them all a little differently so it looks like different colors.
When I tried this the bleach gel runs past my design and my design becomes just a blob. It's like it seeps beyond my vinyl. Any suggestions?
I’d play with the bleach gel recipe and try to make it a little more thick
Where did you get the table for the screen print machine
It’s from IKEA.
How the screen didn't break?
I washed out the gel as soon as I was finished, so the bleach did not damage the mesh
Where can I purchase the design shown in the video?
