    You inspired me to jump in and start screen printing. It always looked like a daunting job that needed a lot of materials. Thank you for all of your tutorials and sharing your experience with us.

    Thank you for posting this video! I started screen printing and my first project was 4 sweatshirts and I wasted so much vinyl thinking I had to use a new one for each shirt 😢 now I know I don’t have to!
    My next project is close to 60 orders and I hope I get it right this time and it doesn’t bleed under the vinyl. Seems to be an issue for me.

    • @pigskinsandpigtails

      Thanks! This method is best when you just need the design one time-the vinyl will start to come off when you wash the screen. Check out this video to see how I make a permanent screen that can be washed and reused over and over again: th-cam.com/video/w_A1V5IUM5Y/w-d-xo.html

    • @pigskinsandpigtails

      There are lots of different screen sizes out there- I have a few aluminum frame screens that you might recognize from some of my videos. I have them in 16x20” sizes, but there are some even larger! www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/aluminum-frame-16-20-frame-110mesh

  • @christinecarandang5869
    @christinecarandang5869 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank youu for all these great tutorials!! I tried this method and one of the problems I encountered is there’s a bleed on the back of the frame after one print. And this stains the fabric and also not giving a sharp detail of the design. Does this also happen to you?

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m glad you liked the tutorials! When you are going over the design with your squeegee, be sure to use a good amount of pressure and try to keep it at the same angle all the way across the screen. Some materials will absorb ink faster than others, you may only need one or two swipes. Going over too many times can also cause the ink to bleed.

    question, so if i have a screen with a vinyl template on it, and i use the screen once, can i wash it with the template still on and have the template stay on and then reuse it??

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are really careful, you may be able to wash and reuse the screen with adhesive vinyl, but I don’t recommend it. If you have a design that you know you are going to want to reuse, I recommend making a permanent screen with HTV instead: th-cam.com/video/w_A1V5IUM5Y/w-d-xo.html

    I have a dilemma. Since vinyl comes on tightly wound rolls. I'm finding it difficult to to eliminate the wrinkles left by being rolled up. Would heating the vinyl slightly help flatten it.

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven’t tried that, so I’m not sure. I wonder if it would be helpful if you unrolled the vinyl and placed something on top so that it could rest flat for a while? If you are screen printing a lot and going through lots of vinyl, you may want to consider investing in a big roll of vinyl. I find that having the vinyl on a large roll helps keep it nice and flat: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/oracal-651-rolls

    I can't wait to try this. Wonderful instructions. One question, when you use your heat press, you don't have to put butcher paper, or parchment paper over the shirt to keep the ink from getting on the press?

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Give it a try! As long as the ink has air dried completely (ideally 24-48 hours), it’s fine to heat press without parchment paper

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What kind of vinyl are you using? Using the right vinyl and making sure that your screen mesh is tight will help make sure that the vinyl stays on the screen. I recommend Oracal 651: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/oracal-651

    Your videos have inspired me and I finally screen printed my first project. I'm getting ready to do try my first multi colored project and am wondering if I need to let my screen dry after washing before moving on to the next color?

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love hearing that! If you are using the same screen for the second color, yes. You want to make sure that the screen is completely dry before adhering the vinyl for the next color. If you have two screens- once you finish the first color still wash that screen so the ink doesn’t dry. That will give the first layer of your design time to dry before you print the second (you want that to be completely dry before placing the next screen on top)

    I know you have a video on bleeding, but what should I do if ink DOES get under the vinyl after only a couple uses? Should I wash the entire screen with the vinyl still on?

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try to get the ink off the back with a qtip. If that doesn’t work, you can try washing the screen. Sometimes the vinyl will come off so just keep that in mind if you decide to wash it.
