    Thanks for the detailed tutorial! One thing you did leave out though is if you are using a thin fabric you want to put something between the front and back to prevent the ink from bleeding through.

    I'm so glad I watched this. I watched a few other videos that had a crazy process, with tons of chemicals and having to keep the screen in the sun for like 2 days I was like whattt lol but I realize those videos were old, before the amazing use of cricut. I have been proficient with cricut and silhouette for years now, but this is the only thing I have not tried. And I feel I'm ready. Thanks

    Great tutorial! Is there an alternative option to the heat press? I own a heat gun. Can it be pointed at the shirt to cure it after its dry?

    • @DIYAlex
      @DIYAlex  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Heat guns often get way hotter than heat presses, so I'm not sure it would be a good idea to hold a heat gun at fabric for an extended period of time. It may work, but I would be nervous about weakening the fabric. You could use a household iron to heat set instead. I have also heard of people putting it in the dryer for a while, but I haven't tried that myself.

      Yes, you can wash and reuse in the same project, but then you need to wash out your screen after the project is done. You can get quite a few in one project though, probably 20-25 in a project.

    I am in the market for a cricut machine from my design class I teach (high school)...I want to use it for this very purpose of screenprinting. Can students draw their own images and load them into the Cricut machine? How does that work? Thanks!

    • @morganl2633
      @morganl2633 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! It can be a bit finicky but it does work and it’s so fun to see your own images as art. It also works with photos.
      With hand drawn images, ensure there’s a big contrast between the drawn image and background so the background can be removed from the image in the cricut app. Another helpful way is to create images digitally or remove the background in procreate or photoshop.
      Definitely trial and error the best methods yourself.
      To get the clearest image on your screen print, I recommend flooding then printing the image. This means you lay the ink at the bottom of the image, evenly but gently push the ink up then pull down with pressure.
      I hope that answers your question!

    • @DIYAlex
      @DIYAlex  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with everything that Morgan said! You can also use thicker markers like a sharpie to accentuate the lines.
