  • First, I am no mechanic, please don’t take this info and run with it. It’s strictly for entertainment purposes only.
Second, I apologize for being behind on posting videos. I’ve been slacking. But I got a lot of content coming for you!
Lastly, hope you guys enjoy this quick little maintenance video, like I said I’m no mechanic but I love learning and being an owner op it’s something you should strive to do. Plus who doesn’t like saving money? Haha
As always, stay blessed and God bless! 😊

Hello from Fairbanks. You got a job up here anytime. Cleaning the pads is fine, glad you checked your free play. Good luck!

No, it was about 8 homeless people. I picked a really bad hotel unknown on Choice Hotels. It was crack central

Why on Earth would you reuse axle grease contaminated parking brake system and service brake pads?
Once contaminated with that kind of axle oil, brake clean does not solve the problem.
Parking system repair might be questionable, but there is no excuse for reusing greased-up brake pads, they are cheap.

Because I just got them. I said 20k miles but it was more like 12k miles on them. I was told by a mechanic I’d be fine cleaning them up. If they were more worn then to replace them. My parking and braking has been fine. But next brake service I’ll be replacing everything including calipers

@truckertavis no reputable mechanic is going to advise you that you'll be just fine cleaning axle oil off brake linings.
It will never work properly again.
When it comes to things like this, a reliable source on the Internet is better than some mechanic said, honest to God.
Would it ends up doing is making the friction all different and you end up ruining your rotors in the long run.
Parking brakes don't have much Dynamic activity, you can cheat some there
The rear brake pads you do not have that option, these are hard-working friction items.
Doesn't matter how old they are, cut your losses, start over, and do it right, or pay more of a price later on.

Don't get me wrong, I think hard-working men like you need to be respected for what they do.
If things don't move, nobody eats.
What I'm saying, in an older brother kind of advice vibe....
Is it going to transport and make a living at it..
Do not, I repeat, do not document improper brake repair on the internet with video.
If you have an attorney, he is clenching.
Or maybe salivating, depending on your retainer.
If you don't correct this, your pants just fell down.
