Prague army is there because Markvart is the Hetman of Prague, he took that position from Radzek Kobyla. Markvart is in this game Sigismunds main represntative in Bohemia since Sigismund is probably on his way back to Hungary to keep order there. Sigismund and nobles allied to him (mainly Rssenberg family and Bergov family - owners of Trosky Castle) control Prague and its army, they of course do all that officialy in the name of king Wencesalu who is on the forced "vacation" in Vienna under sigismunds care. Henry and Hans will try to convince nobles to chage side and go agianst Sigismund. HUSSITE WARS WONT BE FEATURED IN THIS GAME only in other sequels possibly.
Hi about the Prague army , is because many nobles was not satisfied with Wenceslaus rule so the form a League of lord's (pánská jednota) Sigismund as Wenceslaus Brother was seen as obvious choice so bohemia was in kind of civil war wich each individual nobles align with Sigismund or Wenceslaus, the nobleman behind Markvart is head of Rožmberk family (one of the richest In bohemia) wich was with Sigismund, markvart was set as leader of Prague army while Wenceslaus was in vienna captivity. (Wenceslaus was later rescued by Lichtenstein and jobst of moravia) and ruled there until beginning of Hussite wars, where he died because of stroke due to first defenestration of Prague.
I am fresh out of creating a sort of "story trailer" from the footage we have so I would like to give you some input: The camera angle on Hans at the small white keep switched horizon positions. The camera was shooting to the right on the overhead shot A but then to the left on close up shot B. Hence his back is not against a white wall, the background instead shows the pitched roof behind him that is also visible in overhead shot A. On the Hussite wars: They have already said that KCD1 takes place in the early summer 1403 and KCD2 just after in the same year. The hussite wars did not start off until 1419. Mutt is a clear indicator here. He is prominently shown in the trailer and dogs don't live long.
In some interview on the first KCD2 trailer release it was said that start of KCD2 is only 2 DAYS after KCD1 ending, so 1403y but 2 days later and also was said that in KCD2 wont be any of timelapse jumps (for example, from 1403 to 1412 hussite time wars start or 1433 to the end of hussites wars) ;)
I am quite sure, that the game wil not include Hussite war itself (but most probably many sentiments that led to it). It is confirmed that second game starts immediately after the first game. And Hussite war started almost 16 years later. Time jump that huge would be real nuisance in open world RPG, where player can travel between maps and finish sidequests almost whenever he wants. Besides, Daniel Vávra claimed from the begining, that he wanted to portrait that interesting and troublesome time period before Hussite wars, which is almost unknown (due to being overshadowed by famous hussite history). That red coat of arms with white towers was traditional crest of Prague back then. Not related to Hussites (they used it and slightly altered it later). You are right, that Prague in Hussite war mostly opposed Sigismund (at least most of its parts - there were huge inner fights at the begining). But in the time of the first game, when king Venceslawus was abducted, Sigismund pretended to act in his name. And he held the Prague during that time. I don´t think the guy with mustache is Jan Žižka. Žižka (most probably) lost his first eye as a child according to historians. But I would not be surprised, if we will meet him in the game (and they just don´t want to spoil it in the trailers). The smaller one of besieged castles is theorised to be Nebákov castle. It is just a ruin nowdays, but it is in simmilar position to Trosky castle to what we can see in one shot of the trailer. And drawings of his theoretical appearence are very simmilar to this castle in game. The larger one is theorised to be Suchdol castle. There is a mention of triscalion in the crest of a noble family, that owned Suchdol castle in the time of the game.
Didn’t he lost his first eye during polish campaign in 1410? And I’m pretty sure that he will play a big role in KCD 2, because for a very long time Jan was serving as a page in Wenceslav’s court
Something important to note is the shape of House Rosenberg’s roses on the old fella on the right’s arm emblazoned in gold at 8:01 If you remember, the House of Rosenberg’s rose banners were actually present at the sacking of Skalitz, Alex describing “[Lord] Rosenberg and his Cabal” as the primary driving force behind the growing unrest in Bohemia and Sigismund’s rise to power. Undoubtedly this also proves that the soldiers we see with the three castle heraldry are men sent by Sigismund from Prague, that being Prague’s city heraldry. Remember from the introduction cutscene at the start of KCD1 that Sigismund holds Wenceslas hostage currently, the men from Prague and the city itself under his control still. I predict Sir Markvart has been handed control of this force by the Rosenbergs, hoping to stamp out any resistance in the land, likely from Sir Han’s retinue, the guerilla force they’re building (what I predict to have that tretske heraldry) alongside the Lords of Bergow Hans and Henry were sent to recruit. The man on the far left is obviously Erik, Istvan Toth’s lover and right hand man. This indicates to me that the chase for Radzig’s sword isn’t done, and imo makes the Hussite route an extremely flimsy take, especially since sources now have almost guaranteed the game takes place in 1403. What it also confirms to me is the presence of Toth’s men somewhere in this place as well, likely filling the roll of the generic bandits the same way they did in the last game, though now likely the cumans and standard bandits are also supplemented by Bohemian soldiers situationally depending on which map you’re in. Just my theories and maybe a couple critiques! great video the same!
I believe it is set in 1403 or 1404 during the power struggle between Sigismund and Vaclav and partial power vacuum in Bohemia when different factions (noble families and cities) were fighting each other. (KCD1 was set in 1403 iirc) Zizka is believed to have lost his left eye in the childhood already, so I'm not so sure about that "mouschtache guy". He was also barely known before ca 1410. He lost his second eye in 1421 and the Malesov battle occured in 1424 - too late for this game in my opinion. The banner with white towers on red field is the CoA of Prague.

8:32- that definitely is a Hussite banner. The communion chalice with the Host above it is a symbol of the Hussites' doctrine of Utraquism- that is, the laity, not just the clergy, should receive the wine as well as the bread (a doctrine the Church held to be heretical). The problem with regard to the story is that it was Sigismund who opposed, and Wenceslas who (partially) defended, the Hussite cause. That specific banner is that of the Prague Hussite militia, whom Sigismund crushed - so why would Sigismund's commander Markwart be using it? I also think the moustache guy could be zizka more likely in which case he could lose an eye at the end of this game or it could be someone else. Sigusmund loses in 1403/early 1404 as the revolt that jobst spoke of in the first game happens forcing him to retreat also releasing the idle(fun) king from captivity. Markvart getting himself killed during the seige of kuttenburg was major part of that though it took place in 1402 and by all accounts should be dead when the game happens and i think the game will cover until his death at the hands of Henry in 1403 instead of 1402.
