    These are such great sources of perspective from contemporary media on any given car from any time, thanks so much for posting this. You can look up practically any car and some submodels and you get this easy quick impression of how people saw it when it came out, it's really an invaluable asset for car enthusiasts.

    Love my 05 Boxster S!! Looks just like this review car except I have PASM & Bi-Xenon headlights. This car is AMAZING!!!! Bought it last year with 74,0000 miles. It was a one owner car and I paid an even 16K for it. The car is worth every penny I paid for it...Smiles for Miles in this hot roadster!

      Marc Woodward any advice for someone buying?

    • @marcwoodward8056

      @@renesanchez5333 Do allot of research on the different years & engines so you can decide which car is best for you & how much you're willing to spend to get it. Next thing, be patient...very, very patient! Check all the used car sources every few days until you find the right car at the right price & be willing to travel to get it! The car I bought was over 2 hours drive away from my house but I knew it was a great deal. When you find that great deal make sure you get it inspected for issues before purchase & always be willing to walk away when it comes up short! That's the best advice I have for you unless you have a specific question. Otherwise, happy shopping & good luck!

      Marc Woodward thank you so much that helps! I’m looking towards a 2005-2006 model S. What do you think about the IMS bearing problem?

      Where do you get the maintenance done?

    • @marcwoodward8056
      @marcwoodward8056 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nate678 I perform all of my own maintenance. The car is fairly easy to work on so with regular hand tools you can do everything yourself. In 2 years of ownership ship the only thing the car has needed are regular oil changes, spark plugs & air filter. I'm getting ready to change the transmission fluid & filter. I have the parts in the garage just haven't gotten around to it yet. All in all the car has been really cheap to own so far.

    Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou for the first review I've come across which talks about how the car handles on the track. Who cares about the stereo, interior design, or how cool it makes you look, it's a Porsche, buy it to drive on the track or don't bother getting one, that's why I'm getting one.

      I'm getting one to be more frustrated in traffic. I'm too relaxed. Driving transit buses for a living and racing motorbikes does that to a person. And my present road bike overheats in traffic on hot days and there's no boot/trunk. Have to tow friends on skateboards etc. It's all good till you have to stop quickly. You have to explain gyroscopic stability to most skateboarders. Most don't even carry tools.

    The reality is the guys that say it's a ladies car are probably just butthurt you can buy something for a lot less, that's just as fun to drive. To me the styling is more masculine than a Z4, Miata, or a lot of other convertibles.

    I have a 2001 Boxster with 75K on her. Thinking of switching to a 2005 for no other reason other than that my head hits the roll bar hoops when I put the seat in the optimal position. Would miss my 2001 with Porsche Sport Exhaust though...the sound at even low speeds is fantastic.

    Great car, loved my 2002 3.2 s Tip until IMS failure destroyed engine last year with only 28k miles, TOTALLY GUTTED:o( My fault, should have taken note of all the warnings. Buy one but get the later more reliable bearing fitted asap, best £1k you'll ever spend. Got 2010 987.2 s pdk now but still would have been more than happy with the 986 s.......

    I got mine in 05, they go for $22-25K now. You will love the feel and involvement driving a Boxster.

    A 2005 Porsche Boxster S most definitely does NOT go for $22-25k now.

    Now a teenager can afford one.

      A teenager may now be able to buy one, but will be hard pressed to maintain it.
