Mate I've had a complete balls up the last 2 days. Got an electric shock off the water due to faulty electrics in the house and got problems with the filters. More videos coming soon on it all

Even though my pond has been professionally wired every thing in my filter house also has it's own circuit breaker...stay safe mate 🙏

So I am just about to install a kockney koi skimmer box on my pond just wondering how best to install it. The skimmer box is around 1 inch above the main water level on my pond. well I hope it is the pond seems to be level know. So what advise would you give about fitting a skimmer ? the skimmer seems to be a 1/4 above what will be the water level. I in vision the water level of the pond will be about 1 inch below the top of the sleepers. Above that will be a capping piece of wood which is about 50mm in thickness.
The biggest advice would be to use a proper rubber EPDM liner rather than a cheap one. There much easier to get a good seal on. I've not had any experience with the kockney koi skimmers. But use plent of sealant, also around the joints on the skimmer. Not sure if you've seen his channel but AD's koi has one of these skimmers

Nearly there, apart from the electric issues 👍 Did you not think about having the BD purge line the opposite way, so that it could go into the same waste line as your drum? Stay safe.
I did think about doing that but my drum waste is only 1.5" and I wanted the full 4" to give it a good flow to purge properly. I'll sort something out with if for the future

For that price I would like them to come and fit it as well! But it does look like a great bit of kit. Think I need to learn how to plastic weld! I want a custom bakki shower anyway so that might be an option.

It's from absolute koi. they don't actually make a basket for it. I did see a TH-cam video with a link for someone who makes one. If I can find it I'll stick the link in for you. I don't use on. Everything just go's into the drum
It's an ultraskim from absolute koi. I had it made narrower to fit my sleepers. And yes it dose screw into the sleepers. Not cheap but well worth the money in my opinion.

The bottom drain in from jbr. The skimmer is an ultraskim from absolute koi. Although jbr do a similar one. Good luck with your build 👍

Most of my fittings i got from coastal koi. Some of the pipe from them and some from plasticpipeshop.co.uk
