    I think that partial knockout of the second sleeper will be much much much stronger than if it were two sleepers knocked out. Turned out great. I can't believe how level you got that window. Such engineering skills you have.

      I think I am so lucky that I got to watch and help my grandfather all my childhood. Everything had to be done to perfection! I learnt so much from him.

    I can tell you now you made the right decision I put a window in my pond and when I filled it the water pressure pushed the sleepers uot so I had to put stud bolted from back to front to stop it 😔😔

      Oh no, that must have been a nightmare to re adjust. Yes rebars on upright sleepers is a must.

      Hi Gaz. Thank you for your kind comment. If you go on my channel, you can see the work. The titles of the video explain what I am working on. You will see the pond, the window, the pergola with the roof and the filter house. Still working on it, or around the pond should I say.

    Great work!! One suggestion, possibly use a impact driver to drive in screws easily...
    Can I ask plz, where did you find information on how to install and build the pond? Cheers

      Hi, I didnt have an impact driver :-) Most likely to be a tool I will buy one day. I didnt have any information as such, I just had a picture in my head of what I wanted and I built it.

    Hi I’m looking to making a sleeper pond just wondering how much did you pay for the sleeper and for how many thank you

    • @LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection
      @LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, the price of wood and timber has really gone up since I bought my sleepers in March 2021. I am sorry I honestly cannot remember how much I paid. Just tried to look on my stuff but can't find the receipt. It also varies from one place to another and what size and thickness you get. I got the wide and thicker ones as I knew I would put them on their side with rebars.

      Ok thank you I’ll shop around and see what is the cheapest I love your pond I would love to have one like yours

      @@jay-_meister hi, thank you that's very kind. But you know, no ponds are ever the same 😊 so I just found this morning my invoice. Each sleeper was £21.99 (VAT excluded) and I had 14. They are still at that price from what I can see. Dimension of each sleeper 2400 x 240 x.120 mm. So slightly bigger than the standard size.

    There's nothing wrong with overkill if it gives you peace of mind, good decision on the size of your window.

    Hi Lau, what dimensions is your sleeper pond? I'm planning a rebuild and can't decide on size and yours looks a nice size. Cheers

    • @LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection
      @LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, and thank you for watching. My sleepers are bigger than the standard size. Still 2.4 m long but 12 cm thick and 24 cm wide.

      @@LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection Thank you, I just can't decide how big to go but that gives me an idea. Your pond is really coming along nicely. Cheers

    • @LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection
      @LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JamieLawrence88 well my advice is go as big as space and finance allow you to. And also the upkeeping/maintenance of the pond, and the cost of water, electric etc . It's all down to what is manageable for you, physically and financially.

    • @JamieLawrence88
      @JamieLawrence88 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection Your very right there. Its funny as everyone always says go as big as you can but mine currently is 3m x 3m and sometimes feels like a big area to maintain was thinking possibly going 2.4 on one side this time around. Cheers!

    • @LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection
      @LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JamieLawrence88 so 3x3 metres is actually bigger than mine! How deep is it? Mine is 1.20 deep.
