Those little swatch cards with the color mixes are miniature works of art! Stunning colors! Lovely video as always.
That is so kind, thank you! The pigments offered a beautiful base to work with. They're incredibly versatile and could take many directions depending on the colors one wishes to mix with them. Glad you love the video. Thank you for being here!
Thank you so much for sharing all these gorgeous pigments with such superior quality videos. You have carved your own stunning, much needed, and unique notch in the watercolor world. Your mixes are divine as well. 😍
Your words are heartwarming to hear, thank you! These mixes are my go-to ones around this time of the year. Vivid, bold and calming to see at the same time. 😍
The perylene colours are spectacular! ❤ thank you for sharing. Helene
They truly are! Along with Quinacridones, Perylenes are excellent pigments to have on the palette. I am glad you liked the video! Thank you for being here! ❤️
I enjoy how you create your videos, awesome work! And I love the Perylenes! Who knew the automotive industry would provide such amazing pigments for watercolor. These and the Quins are in heavy rotation in my palette!
Thank you! I do strive to make this channel a destination for color and calm, where pigments and processes are the true heroes. Most modern pigments that we enjoy today are from the automotive industry and thank goodness for the heritage watercolor and oil recipes passed down by previous generations, we could enjoy these stunning pigments as artist paints. Like you, I love working with these and the quinacridone squad.
Just wow Stivi.. I never knew I needed one more watercolor channel this badly)) I also thought I was over Daniel Smith but this video gets me back (if that is properly said in english). I'll have to revisit art stores, since I don't even remember seeing perylene scarlet before.. or it just didn't catch my eye like this. Your building up of swatches, paired with all the visuals and sounds is like entering the zen garden. And by the time they dry, they all look like mini landscapes. At least where I am now at, so you make my Sicily vacation even more poetic, but then you allways do that)) Every video is pure art. Thank you! 😊
Always so gracious, thank you! Perylene Scarlet seems to be the least appreciated Perylene. It is a lustrous mid-red and it is lovely in mixes. Perhaps you've heard this from me before already but I do strive to make this channel a destination for color and calm, where people's relaxing experiences and the pigments are the true centerpiece or hero and not me. So I genuinely appreciate your kind words about the video presentation. Your comment confirms that I am on the right track and I am effectively meeting this goal. Enjoy your Sicily holiday!
I love Perylene Green
It seems to be a crowd favorite! Glad to know that you like it too and thank you for watching!
Love the potters pink and perylene violet! Lovely. And perylene green always amazes me. Looks spectacular with pb29. 💕🙏
Hello, Patty! Lovely seeing you here. I am glad you like the mixes! Oftentimes, I would also use Indanthrone Blue (PB60) with Perylene Green to intensify the pigment without the granulating texture that comes with PB29. Thank you again for being here. 💕🙏
@@stiviwonders I will do these mixes! 💕thank you! 🎨🥰
@@patti3d You're welcome! Happy painting, Patty! 🎨🥰
What a lovely selection of colours. Your mixes are also to die for. ❤
That is such a massive compliment, thank you! These colors are versatile and with a little bit of mixing, one could take different directions. I am so grateful for your continued support!
The mixes are great specially the French Ultramarine and Perylene Green.
Glad you like it too! I love how color directions could be changed by simply varying the pigment distribution. Thank you for being here!
Beautiful!! I’ve reached for Perylene Maroon when painting fall colours and have always loved the violet & green, as well. May have to pick up the other two now. 😊 Absolutely love your French Ultramarine & Perylene Green mixes. Superb, and not a mix I would have ever thought to try. Thank you.
Wonderful! Perylenes and Autumn are made for each other. As I have mentioned to another viewer, oftentimes, I would also use Indanthrone Blue (PB60) to intensify Perylene Green without the granulating texture that comes with PB29. I've listed the links below for easier reference. Thank you for your continued support!
Thank you so much. I will go check out the links. It’s my pleasure following your account.
@@lmac_z Pleasure is mine! It's been an absolute honor sharing my passion for watercolor painting with you and other viewers.
I recently purchased the green. What an amazing color 🎉. Thank you 🙏 for another beautiful 🤩 relaxing swatch session ❤
It truly is! Perylene Green sends us to magical places as soon as it kisses the moistened paper. Mesmerizingly beautiful! Happy seeing you here and thank you for watching!
Had to make one more comment because your color mixes are really inspiring! Can't wait to try F Ultra with Perylene Green, that one is incredible!
Excellent! I love knowing that you can now take these mixes, add your touches and make them your own! If I may add, I also use Indanthrone Blue (PB60) with Perylene Green if I just need to deepen the pigment without the granulating texture that comes with French Ultramarine. Or a hint of Perylene Maroon (PR179) if an intense brown is desired (for dramatic tree trunks with an Autumnal feel).
@@stiviwonders great tips!
@@SarahAndBoston Glad they are helpful!
Perylenes are such a beauty. P maroon is one of my absolutely favorite hues
100% agree! I love their versatility and extraordinary ability to convey varied levels of emotion. Thank you for being here! 🙏🏻
These are luscious colours.
They truly are! I love how moody they are.
Thank you for watching!
I have two, green and violet that I mostly use to make a lively black. I need to explore some more. Deb in Montana
I loved how you added some favorite mixes
Fantastic! I figured it would be interesting to share some ways of mixing these beautiful pigments. Thank you for being here!
Really enjoyed your series. Your color mixed at the end of the video is icing on the cake!!
That makes me happy to hear, thank you! I love that you visited my channel and I appreciate your kind words.
Love your videos and also your mixing ideas very much!!😊
It warms my heart knowing that you love the mixes too! Thank you for being here! I have more videos to upload soon.
Wow the perylene green mixes are so gorgeous! I definitely need to try it someday!
Thank you! Moody blues meet melancholic green. The mixes are mesmerizing to look at!
I think my first was the maroon, many years ago, and yes, I was struck to see how wonderful it was as an alizarin crimson replacement! I recently swatched all of my tubes and found I had at least one more! Lol!
LOL! That's hilarious that one more tube sprouted from somewhere. I love its deep, earthy burgundy appeal. So elegant! Thank you for being here!
How about pyrrole series? po73 and pr254 are colors that I can't live without.
Thank you for mentioning that! I am happy to share that Pyrroles are on the list. Stay tuned! ❤
Perylene Green knows my name and is calling to me
Hahaha! Yes, first-name basis and on caps lock mode! Perylene Green seems to know the numbers to dial. 😂
Another beautiful and informative video! I have the DS perylene maroon and the perylene green and I love them for their moody darkness and reliable colorfastness. The perylene violet looks interesting, I like the color and the way it moves wet in wet. So many colors, so little time. 😜 Thanks for the tip about mixing with PR233, it adds granulation without substantially altering the color of the violet (if you use enough violet).
Wonderful seeing you here again! My most used ones from this family are Perylene Violet and Perylene Green. Most of the times though, I'd add a tinge of PB60 to PBk31 just to darken it a bit. And PB29 if I need it to have some light texture. PR233 works the same way when mixed with PV29. It is now a scene-stealer so it is perfect for adding granulating effects. I love how Perylene Violet treats the moistened surface as a dance floor! Haha!
Daniel Smith's perylene maroon is deeper and cooler than other brands, which is my favorite pr179.
That's wonderful, that you found a PR179 that works for you!
Lovely mixes!😊
That’s so kind! Glad you love them! Thank you for being here! 🙏🏻
Beautiful.
Thank you! I am glad to see you here.
Simply gorgeous. After all of these stunning videos, I find myself curious as to what's on your main palette? Have a beautiful day. 😊
So delighted to see you here again! From this color family, PBk31 is a palette mainstay. For the projects that I love working on, I keep different palettes for different themes, but most of them overlap. I love your question because since last year, I have been gravitating towards some strikingly beautiful pigments. Perhaps in a few months, after working with these pigments for some projects, I will be confident to share that palette. Have a glorious day to you too!
Which do you like better for a primary red, perylene red or pyrrol red?
Perylene Red can be a versatile primary red but my preferred primary red is PR108. Sometimes Pyrrol Red (PR254).
Not 1st 😂.
I love the PR178. I just bought it a couple of days ago, but I haven’t tried it yet.
That's alright. What matters is you're here. ❤
PR178 is a versatile pigment. You will love it for a world of themes or topics.
@@stiviwonders Thanks! You are kind 🙂
@@awatercolourist You are too! 🙂
@@stiviwonders 😄 Thanks!
where is roman szmal? please
He's in Poland? Just kidding!
This video focuses on Daniel Smith's Perylene Watercolors. In two weeks or so, we'll have a Roman Szmal video. Thank you for being here!
Roman Szmal is a line of watercolors from Poland.
@@alexandraemrick2799 Yes! I am just being silly. He's requesting for a Roman Szmal-focused Perylene video which I will upload in the coming weeks.
@tolekz3689 I received your email. Thank you for the suggestions! I will upload them in the coming weeks.
