- The Oshkosh Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) is an advanced tactical vehicle developed by the Oshkosh Corporation for the United States military. It is designed to replace the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), also known as the Humvee, which has been in service for several decades. The JLTV offers significant improvements in terms of performance, protection, and payload capacity compared to the Humvee.

But they forgot to design some way to secure the front of that turret...
It's supposed to swing like that so the gunner can cover is firing arc without needing to turn the whole turret.
@@drkriegkorps294Ik but when turned you could take shrapnel or rounds through the side that stays uncovered
@@RABBIT_VR1It isn't a tank. Too much armor that high up will raise the center of gravity
One of the reasons why I love living in Oshkosh WI.
Why ? What benefit does it give you other than you acting like a ham sandwich 🥪 when you say Duurrrr: I wiv where they tighten bolts 🔩
Why?
@@EricTheActor805 Also my job makes steel plating for the military vehicles too. My work can be found on many of vehicles.

Huge waste of tax money
@@EricTheActor805 Yes, and no. If a large scale war kicks off it would be nice to have them in war
One awesome rig. Oshkosh has been building massive trucks for the construction industry and trucking industry for a long time. The motor is the best available and there survivability is almost 100% . As long as there's no nukes going off, there electronics will not be a problem. The Humvees can still run after an EMP. Same with the 5 tons
I like how the turret on top, keeps rocking around and moving all over the place.
I saw that too lol, it really seems like it could use some type of simple gyroscopic mount for the gun in particular at least, I don't think it would need to be able travel very far up & down or left & right, just enough degrees to make going over rougher terrain not effect its point of aim too severely
Looks like it's locked due to no gun being installed in the turret. Is probably bouncing back and forth on its locking pins
For anyone wondering, you cannot buy these as a civilian. Posted my PPA with $230k, was denied due to "availability", ridiculous!
400k already
I would love to drive this vehicle.
I used to build and work on these, they are surprisingly agile. It feels like you’re driving a two door sports car. You can’t see a damn thing out of it though, but there are computers with screens inside and cameras all over it. Blind spots are covered really well
Sure beats the Hummer 😊
I don’t care unless it has AC included
I'm not to sure how that suspension system will handle in a airborne unit after multiple high altitude drops from a high performance aircraft in the middle of the night, I've had those kinds of suspension systems fail on my personal vehicle but hopefully they can function properly
That engine might have gm casting makers but it’s every bit a banks power engine
That front grill looks very vulnerable.
Looks yet it still protected through the inside
What to do with the hood, which is made of fiberglass and can be shot through with small arms?
I’m here bcos of Orlando and P diddy
Lord forbid it has a gm transmission
It’s not scaled down. It’s scaled up ^ with a partnership with Banks
Does it have a flat bottom? Plenty of mines are currently being used in combat. If GWOT taught us anything, it's that flat bottoms are deadly for the inhabitants should ordinance go off underneath.
For some reason, I found it too big - a sitting duck for any rival.
looks like a beaver
It has all that equipment and features and shit but nothing to lock the turret in place
Lock the turret please 😮!!!
Looks familiar!😂
Very
Price please 😊
Great. Powered by a Duramax. One of the crappies diesel engines made today.
Why does it look like bmw got into military
Back ground music name
The OP five or any diesel is dead, nuts, reliable when you takeoff the emission system which the military is exempt from
To bad Oshkosh lost the contract to make the JLTV
How many liters/KM or Gallons/miles ?
Yeah they don't measure military vehicles in MPG but range per full tank
Is that much power justified to carry just 4 soldier
But modern warefare says its a Russian military vehicle...
Used the wrong motor. Needs a Cummins or CAT.
What doesit cost us?
Around $250k-$400k per.
Yeah but does it have air conditioning?
No
Yes
TÜV sagt nein
the JLTV is an oversized garbage barge. We needed a replacement for the Humvee and got a computerized tank that you have to be 5'5 to drive. It has more blind spots than a Hellen Keller convention, and cannot be effectively used for CasEvac.
Isuzu engine 👍
You don't know what your talking about.
Duramax's are usually what GM uses in Chevrolet/GMC Diesel trucks, don't know where you got Isuzu from lol
@@lastmanstanding-xp3ub They are Duramax, I live in Oshkosh, WI. All I can say.
Brother, please do your research. The initial Duramax design came from Isuzu. However, these engines have been designed and built right here in the US for over twenty years. There’s not much to credit Isuzu for. This is a GM engine built at DMax, LTD in Moraine, Ohio. Not by Isuzu.
"more powerful than don't think..."
really, do you proofread your posts?
Their videos seem pretty AI created to me. That could be the problem here 😅
AI? I’m sorry, you wrong.

@@Intrusive_Thought176 look at specifications... Better mobility, higher capacity and better protection... Also... A lot cheeper
@Djordje Todorovic better protection? Armour for the jltv is classified
@Djordje Todorovic The Joint Light Tactical Vehicles Family of Vehicles (JLTV FoV) is an Army-led, joint-service program designed to replace a portion of each service’s light tactical wheeled vehicle fleets while closing an existing capability gap. Intended to provide protected, sustained, networked mobility for personnel and payloads across the full range of military operations, the JLTV FoV will restore the fleet’s balance of payload, performance, and protection.
The JLTV FoV consists of two variants: the four-seat Combat Tactical Vehicle (CTV) and the two-seat Combat Support Vehicle (CSV). The CTV will support the General Purpose, Heavy Gun Carrier, and Close Combat Weapon Carrier missions. The CSV will support the Utility/Shelter Carrier mission. The JLTV is transportable by a range of lift assets, including rotary-wing aircraft, to support operations across the range of military operations. Its maneuverability enables activities across the spectrum of terrain, including urban areas, while providing inherent and supplemental armor against direct fire and improvised explosive device threats.. idk bro other than capacity they are basically the same
@@Intrusive_Thought176 M16 have stanaag 2-3
Overpriced for what its job is. A $26,000 Kornet missile would toast this thing
or a $3,300 155mm round as an IED can destroy it as well.. So what? You still need to deliver the round or missile and hope either isn't seen so its not defeated.
@@jkutnink87 figured you’d think about an IED. It’s overpriced you didn’t address that.
And a .30¢ bullet will kill a human, a $9000 shell can destroy a 10 million dollar tank. To evaluate a piece of equipment’s value by comparing its cost to the munitions that can destroy it is moronic.
@@T34theAmericanheavy actually it’s not, not at all, it’s what general attrition warfare is. You are just a warthunder player run along now
@@timyrabbit we produce 320,000 semi trucks a year in the us, we can produce these things out the ass
400Hp is not enough for this huge armored thing, common!
There are street SUVs nowadays that have over 7-800 Hp, this should at least be at that level
6.6L turbo diesel only 400hp, yea that’s way low for that size engine.
I wonder what kind of torque numbers it's putting out, since it's a diesel powered Duramax motor (diesel Chevrolet trucks usually come wjth them), it probably doesn't make a whole bunch of HP but instead has a shit load of torque.
@@lastmanstanding-xp3ub good point
You guys don’t understand that diesel engines put out major amounts of torque
@lastmanstanding-xp3ub reports are that it produces 800 fr/lbs of torque and can travel at 70+mph.
Cool till the electronics go out
Doesnt the taliban have these too?
Only in right-wing anti-Biden wet dreams
The talibros they will have it in the next war
