Playthrough Ruleset:
1. I cannot heal my Pokémon via PokéCenter, items, or other similar methods (e.g. talking to Mom, using the PC, etc.); only eligible healing is via healing moves like Leech Seed and once immediately after catching the Pokémon
2. Can only catch the first Pokémon I find on each Route (Species Clause)
3. Nickname Pokémon
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

"Free" healthcare costs 30% of your income, through taxes. The US has the most advanced medical treatment in the world (it does, there's really no argument there) and it's cheaper, if you're not too stupid to get insurance, or have a job that offers health insurance (mine costs $200/m) which is not 30% of my income.
Could be worse. We co7ld have canadian health care or the nhs.

Edit: Compiling all the presidents out of order in the vid to show that that is (probably) not the full story of how their names were chosen (or maybe they were caught in a different order than that which was shown).
James Madison (#4) and James Monroe (#5) are swapped.
John Quincy Adams (#6) is skipped entirely.
William Henry Harrison (#9) and John Tyler (#10) are swapped.
Ch'Ding is not a U.S. president.
Abraham Lincoln (#16) and Andrew Johnson (#17) are swapped. (Jolteon should have been Lincoln, especially considering Johnson basically singlehandedly botched Reconstruction and is generally agreed to have been kinda terrible at his job.)
As the other commenter said, William Howard Taft (#27) is moved out of order in front of James Garfield (#20) to make him Snorlax.
From now on, not all encounters are being shown in a consistent order in the video, meaning the following timeline errors are likely entirely due to editing.
At 31:44, the video shows a Poliwag, Venonat, and Horsea being caught. They are not named at the time, but assuming they are shown in order, they would be named after Chester Arthur (#21), Grover Cleveland (#22 and #24), and Benjamin Harrison (#23). Harrison the Seadra (accurate) is shown at 33:47. The Poliwag is shown at 39:45, named after William McKinley (#25), which suggests but does not prove a timeline error.
Calvin Coolidge (#30) is shown directly after the last three.
Warren Harding (#29) the Lapras is swapped with Calvin Coolidge (#30) the Tentacruel. (This is not an editing thing.)
Harry Truman (#33) the Electabuzz is first shown at 39:00. He is not shown being caught, so it cannot be determined if there was a timeline error involved.
Zynx is also not a U.S. president.
Joe Biden (#46) the Omanyte is shown at 40:45. At this point, Truman (#33) is still the most recent president shown in the video, making this a major timeline error.

Another fun challenge to get uncle Jimtendo on board would be one where you CAN heal, but all healing items and healing is absurdly expensive.

Washington was full hp at the start of the game, but also at the end of elite 4 and champion, a true legend.
I would argue that leech seed is a better move than absorb. Once you set it up it can only be removed by them switching out. Also it frees you up to use other moves while the leech seed ticks, as opposed to moves like giga drain and absorb. The major counter to my position is that giga drain and absorb can result in massive single turn healing if used with STAB and type effectiveness, as opposed to LS which benefits from none of that.

I dunno if it's the sleep deprivation but this felt like I was watching it for hours while I'm working and I greatly appreciate it.
So I dont know if you've ever heard about this ( I just thought about doing this but cant be the first to think of it)....The Alphabet lock...you get 1 pokemon that starts with each letter of the alphabet and evolutions are each their own thing; so Squirtle/wartortle/blastoise take up your S/W/B slots and if you catch an Abra, and evolve it you get your A/K slots but you cannot evolve it into Alakazam since Abra is taken already...might be interesting for a video

Idea: Pokemon Platinum Hardcore Nuzlocke only Pokemon Centers
This obviously means all potions, antidotes, etc can't be used. In this case, any damage taken during a route or quest stays. However, you may go to a Pokemon Center at any time, no matter what, and your ok if NPC's heal up your team as you can't say no to them.

You can do it by yourself or as a collab. An election nuzlocke! You need to have two games simultaneously, one with a blue Pokémon group, and another with red Pokemon group, who ever wins the fastest is the winning party and you can take part in us election guesses!
