Would love to see (1/2). This was excellent. The tenor 'Bacchus' of Jon Villars was outstanding. This must have been performed shortly after the restoration of the 'Semperoper' in Dresden. I am delighted that the great artistic tradition of Dresden continues to thrive.
This is a hilarious production. The Ariadne is proud yet sings like a jugenlich soprano which is another way to go. The trio of women are edgier than usual. The Zerbinetta is vocally silky, characterful and accurate, her the acting vulgarities are hilarious. The tempo are more rushed everything getting to the point often a little too fast frankly. The staging is Euro 1980’s art gallery camp. As goofy as it all is the whole affair worked. Even if it lacked the spiritual component completely.

the most wonderful and perfect "Ariadne auf Naxos" I've ever seen. thanks
Our pleasure! Glad you loved it. :D Thank you for watching!
You are crazy. The cast was ok with the exception of Ariadne…..they should have never put a lyric soprano in that role smh
Vocally and orchestrally excellent.

Does Ms Anthony have the slightest inkling of the words she is signing?
I think not. She seems to be channelling Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia more than anything else.
