    Hi Andrew 🤗 We are the only species on the planet that 'have' a life, al the other species Are Life.. so are we but by 'having a life we create a duality, a seperateness which is the basis for ego which is identification with form, the content, the life we 'have'. True happiness comes with the realisation of being Life. ❤🙏☀️

    Hi Andrew, there's plenty of episodes on treating trauma, but I'm cery interested in learning what information is out there in preventing it in the first place, It's a devasting thing to have and If you can prevent it, you would be stopping a lot of heartache and suffering (prevention is better than a cure after all).
    The reason im so interested is because I'm a first responder and I'd like to give advice and help my colleagues and on how to do thid. Thanks. 🙏

    • @Cathy-e1s
      @Cathy-e1s 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      If you are a first responder, you know very well that preventing illness and addiction will go a long way toward reducing future trauma. Making enough money to live in a safe location and community will also reduce trauma risk. Knowing how to avoid unhealthy relationships would be next. For first responders, moral injury is a huge issue. The organizations you work for are inherently faulty, but you are the "end of the line" for decisions that are made. Being able to control your schedule, making your off time highly rewarding and healthy, and making an exit plan so that you don't feel you are trapped in your job, will all make massive differences. But ultimately, witnessing violence and suffering is erosive to health without starting with very strong skills and being supported by both professionals and personal relationships.

    • @mattmurphy2497
      @mattmurphy2497 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @Cathy-e1s other way round actually, I think preventing (and healing) trauma is the best way of preventing illness and addiction.
      I definitely agree that our relationships and connections are a crucial factor in preventing trauma from turning into a full on disorder like PTSD.
      But there are also other surprising ways to prevent it, like playing a game like Tetris in the hours after experiencing trauma actually reduced the chances of it affecting you later on, so I'm hoping that there was other ways and protocols for prevention.
      So many people can benefit, thanks for your comment. 🙏

      @@mattmurphy2497 I don't know any first responder with addiction or chronic illness that is not much more vulnerable to the trauma of witnessing violence and suffering. I don't know anyone that says that playing video games for hours after watching someone die helps them in the long run. And I know that lots of ER docs are ending their lives because they are trapped in a system where they cannot be the healers they aspire to be.

    Nothing wrong with having high standards but they must be realistic in my humble opinion and we should allow room for another person's faults and mistakes or red flags since we all have them and none of us are perfect.
    It is important that we heal from past hurt and childhood trauma but in spite of being healed from all of that because of iniquity abounding and the majority of men in the Church not being sincere, it makes me hesitant to trust and be in a relationship because I'm going to make absolute sure it won't be a waste of time. No more wasting my time and keeping my godly standards high!

    I remember the days when this was a neuroscience podcast. Now it's just watered-down self-help advice for people with a vague interest in science.

    I understand all the Clickbait stuff, but the term "true" really bothers me in the title. Nothing is true for everybody.
    I would much rather prefer something like "How to find happiness through science"
