From this I would share, I value more what I do passionate about and let the money follow me because aspire to do the best by never let money be what drives me more than the purpose empowered my passion. Money is not the most important when 37 years I live my life money still cannot buy me, my common sense, my loyalty to trusted alliances which never jeopardise the core principles, my conscience, my judgement, my character also my behaviour even my choice which determine me as human being that are worth more than the value of money been offered itself. Kindly do not misunderstood how I value money to compares with others. All of us individually need money and did agreed it does affect everything important in life. How we want to live our life if no money right? Only the ugly truth side, we could see for example money also can buy justice. Believe it or not money can obviously seen could play with other's justice. #JusticeDelayedIsJusticeDenied After seeing this, a key lesson about living a good life with money is when you do not need to know what is justice and injustice until it came to you. By trying to live your life hoping no one would bother to do anything unexpected are so naive and impossible right? People who want to control everything will only end up frustrated with their results when the injustice also served them what they deserved and I am to be a reminder to them of why I'm here, what fuels my hustle, and just how short this life really is. “Money has never made man happy, nor will it, there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness.” - Benjamin Franklin “There is a gigantic difference between earning a great deal of money and being rich.” - Marlene Dietrich Better to have a short life, which is full of what you like doing, than a long one spent in a miserable way.” - Alan Watts Respect others choices on how they valued money when having lack of or gigantic amounts to compared with ownself which more valuable are the best way to me. “The lack of money is the root of all evil.” - Mark Twain 7 Deadly Sins; - Pride/Sombong - Greed/Tamak - Envy/Dengki - Wrath/Marah - Lust/Nafsu - Sloth/Malas - Gluttony/Rakus “Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” - Lord Acton #TruthCrossesItsOwnIdeologyAndPrinciples 🧠 HUMAN.1987.WOMAN
Thinking about virtues, put me in mind of my dad. He was one of the wisest & most humble people I've known, and given he passed 28yrs ago, he remains so even now. This v self-effacing gentleman, was kind and showed genuine compassion, in a quiet way and did good things for others, often without the need for them-nor anyone else-knowing about it. If he called by any of his daughters homes and we weren't in, he'd go way and buy flowers from somewhere, to leave on our porch -just to let us know he'd been there. The day of his funeral, I couldn't have been prouder-for this calm & polite man, the church was so crowded, that someone passed out and the friends he had of all faiths, also attended the Catholic service. There were people standing outside, because there was no room left inside. Out of all things, even his senior work colleagues, spoke of how they knew even though he was excellent at his work, his family were his first and always. To me, though he earned an average salary, he was the richest of all men.
I have read morgan's both books and was referring to his outlook on life overlapping with that of Andrew because he has shared similar perspectives on guest podcasts with robert greene, martha beck etc. Should have added "looking forward to watch this". Hope that clears it out bro :)
18:01 hearing this after being at the same job for 2 years was kind of nice. I’ve been in the same place. No growth. Going crazy. I’ll be going back to school for my masters. And while I may lose some money and time freedom throughout the week, I applied to do substituting. People keep telling me (and I tell myself) how lucky I am to not have a stressful job that’s so easy. The downside is that I’m in the same place career wise that I was in 2 years ago. I’m finally ready for the change even if it means a little less money and other perks.
Dr. Huberman and guest, wow, loved the discussion (like always, no surprise). You are my favorite online personality. I often wonder the kind of pressure you (and other science and information podcasters) feel to keep continuing the work you are doing. I hope and wish you all the happiness for being an awesome human. Thank U.
i just lost my job. i'm 27 years old, and i'm right in the middle of rebuilding a new chapter in my life with a new career and am looking for a new job. this podcast couldn't have come at a better time.
Thanks Morgan and Andrew. A good friend gifted me a book called the “Psychology of Money” 2 weeks ago and I read over the first chapter, which was different than most books on finances(money) not awfully practical but more so analytical of the behaviors of one which courses the way they utilize money. I put the book down and this morning as I am heading out the house for work, I picked it up to go on to chapter two…I open TH-cam and typed Andrew Huberman, and this episode came up! Which has been very instructional. great insights and valuable information from these two wonderful brains. I look forward to completing the book and assessing my own thoughts and beliefs, as well as those beliefs ingrained in us from a young age, growing up!! It’s truly fascinating how complex this can be and without even you being aware…so much is always ongoing…
Kids need good money models. Financial classes are no match for parents that waste money or have massive debt. Studies have been done on this. The classes don't change behavior. It helps to know people from all financial levels and look hard at their lives. My art professor explained what my income would be if I pursued my passion. I chose healthcare, and can afford to visit museums around the world and buy nice prints for the home I own. So I do. Love art. Also love heat, a nice home in a safe place, and a new car. Only rich kids become art historians. Or people who like being poor at 40. For the sake of art.
@@jessicadora7213 Just not very likely. The studies have been done; from universities that graduate MFAs, and from IRS information. By "well", do you mean incomes in the 6 figures, with a home and car that aren't in disrepair, and a solid retirement account? Because that is what I consider "well". All the artists I have known that aren't trust fund babies have a spouse that pays the bills. They leave, and it is rice and beans.
¡Hola Profe!Thought provoking conversation .Made me think about how my childhood. Growing up in Soviet Union, there was almost no point talking about money. Empty shelves, fixed salaries and a feeling lucky to stand in line only for an hour to get basic necessities like toilet paper kind of eliminates a need to have this talk. Success and respect weren't measured in money. We sure had a lot to learn about the world after Soviet Union collapsed.Thank You for all Your hard work and care for all of us.

Loved this book! I shared how I implemented what I learned in it in a few videos and it was neat to see how Morgan’s work and expertise resonates with so many people. So helpful! Excited to see him here with you!
Can you Dr. Huberman create more contents about psychology of money in the context of reducing procrastination. Great content always from you Dr. Huberman
The being young and broke and hungry thing that drives success and innovation I've noticed in the world of musicians/artists. I'm a fan of rock music and many rock bands create their best, most amazing albums in the beginning of their careers. Once they get famous and get the money, most bands get lazy and are unable to create albums that continue to be as amazing or ground breaking as their very first up and coming years. There are exceptions to every rule- u have your bands and artists who withstand the test of time, but these are few and far between.
Ensuring just a decent level of living for you and your closed ones (kids, parents) already costs A LOT. I mean, being able to live in a safe neighborhood, choose a specific (not elite) school and college for kids, healthcare for the family, dealing with random bad events. Yeah, maybe billionaires can't stop earning more for their reasons, but for the majority of ordinary people that's just the only way to secure some safety, and not a very high one.
Love how the video was sped up a bit 😅 made me pay closer attention. HubermanLab implementing learning tricks to their own stuff! Love it! And loved the interview as well
Sry to say that but your grandfather wasnt very wise. Its a rather obvious insight. More interesting would be to measure sad and rich against happy and poor.
@ my grandfather was explaining something to me when I asked in high school. So it wasn’t obvious to me at the time. He had an interesting life in that he went from so little to so much. At the end after his wife had died, he always used to drive to the race track and make bets on the horses. He was able to drive himself up to age 94. He had money to burn.
It’s amazing how much beliefs they teach us around money hold us back. How is nobody talking about 'The Architect of Riches' by Alexander Pierce, it really opens your eyes.
Dr. Huberman, thank you for your incredible content! Could you consider covering psoriasis and its connection to joint and bone issues (psoriatic arthritis)? It’s a complex condition affecting many, and your evidence-based insights on its mechanisms and potential interventions would be hugely valuable. Hoping you’ll explore this topic!
Thank you Andrew for another great episode. Must say, Andrew has a nice masculine voice made for podcast but Morgan Housel's voice is little bit hard on the ears on this occasion.
Id love to hear a podcast on spina bifida. From your expertise it would be great to hear the latest information on preventing it, treating it, and things to test for. My first baby has SB and we are thinking about having another but nervous about repeating our first experience.

When he mentions billionaires that are rich without independence I think of Bryan Johnson. I think he's going to have big regrets when he's 250yo. I think work/life balance is the key. And I absolutely love Independence+Purpose! That's exactly how I have tried to live my life without knowing it
hello Dr huberman, I have listened to a lot of your podcasts and I'm a humongous fan and believe you are doing some amazing work. I appreciate all the intense efforts you put in to make the episode fantastic. Since we know that testing yourself is the best way to learn things, have you thought about maybe putting like a mini very basic quiz over the episode at the very end either? Just to have the option so we can remember the episode a bit better
Hello Mr. Huberman, my daughter’s in university. She has a great sleep schedule, although struggles to stay awake in classes that are really hard is this because the brain is so taxed it wants to shut down to remember the information. this has become an issue for her it seems that she’s disinterested, but she’s very interested. Medically she’s fine. We’ve checked that Avenue just in case. Thank you for your time and everything that you do.
Andrew where can we hear you lecture? I would love to come and be amongst the sophists...it would be a bucket list highlight honestly! You are an inspiration and role model of mine.
Great podcast I totally agree with Morgan regarding how our genetics play a huge role in our mental health and our decision making with regards to money you see parents desperately trying to teach their children how to save but you either have the wiring to save or not I remember so well in my twenties when some of my friends were saving to buy properties but most were overspending on clubbing etc it's all down to how lucky you are with your genetics
Being sick is very bad for your income. Avoid concussions and stupid accidents because you speed, ski on ice, plunge off cliffs, etc. Try hard not be an addict. Very hard. And for goodness sakes, don't remain in a relationship with someone who intentionally harms themselves. Run. Fast.
Andrew please give me suggestion I have lots of problem with concentration and focus and at the same time I always remain in my head. I always think about something , I don’t want to think . I always saw your videos for guidance. I am confused which meditation is good for me exteroception or interception, because I have focus and concentration problem as well as I am always in my head … Thanks 🙏
Andrew you talked abt your friends who can afford night nurses for their children and how much better they look due to being able to get a full night of sleeping/rest 💤💤. I would love to see an in depth discussion on this topic, maybe w an expert guest! From an attachment perspective etc. etc.
They have to be a true expert in their field. I have to want to talk to them. And I have to feel that they have the ability to share things that are real use to a very broad audience. Most are scientists or physicians, or clinicians and some are not but still make the cut based on what I feel is the opportunity to share information of immense value. Such as today’s guest.
@@hubermanlab Thank you so much for your replay. In fact we enjoy the entire content of the podcast, specially that latest episodes that focus on Psychology and related issues. Keep going Doctor Andrew. you have great influence in our lives.
What would one do with all that wealth? Love this podcast! Could you please make an episode on Puberty and like how to get the best of it when you're going through it in like height and stuff? That would be really helpful for teenagers and interesting for older folks!
As a personal trainer and dancer of ballet. I recommend gymnastics for young men. It teaches body weight + core strength, balance while increasing flexibility. 💪🏾☀️
Most gymnast learn posture which reflects confidence to the ladies. 🤭🤗
Can you bring Dr. Ellen Langer on mindfulness?
Love how the video was sped up a bit 😅 made me pay closer attention. HubermanLab implementing learning tricks to their own stuff! Love it! And loved the interview as well
From my grandfather, who grew up poor and died rich, he always said he’d rather be sad and rich than sad and poor
Money is like chess, as long as all parties agree to rules - it works. It is no more than social contract!
Happy Holidays
Hope you are staying warm & joyous!
Exactly what I need

I think he had a cold...
Morgan Housel is the GOAT
His book was fantastic. Looking forward to this discussion
This guy is so sharp and relatable, thank you for the recommendation. 🤙
What a coincidence I just reading his book and impressed by his intelligence and Sir Huberman take him hubermanlab ...thanks 🙏so much
Id love to hear a podcast on spina bifida. From your expertise it would be great to hear the latest information on preventing it, treating it, and things to test for. My first baby has SB and we are thinking about having another but nervous about repeating our first experience.
Into the Wild is one of the most depressing films I have ever seen, but I am glad I watched it one time. You may want to edit this video and remove the spoiler, Andrew. Also, I interpreted the deeper meaning of the film differently than you did. You might benefit from watching it again?
How about an episode on the psychology of gift giving. My famiy is all over the place on what, why, cost etc.
I LOVE Morgan!! Absolutely brilliant mind!
Fabulous Beautiful...Totally Relevant to our Aquarius Age...evrryone doing it their own Way...and not worrying about the Jones'es....Early on in life. Blessings Professor 🕊️🕊️🕊️✨❤️🔥
When he mentions billionaires that are rich without independence I think of Bryan Johnson. I think he's going to have big regrets when he's 250yo.
I think work/life balance is the key.
And I absolutely love Independence+Purpose! That's exactly how I have tried to live my life without knowing it
This one hit me right in the childhood
Interesting, please say more about this
Grew up poor and that came with a certain way of thinking which never helped me@jessicadora7213
It’s Monday!!!! Yay!!!❤🎉😊
Grateful for you! 🙏🏽☔️☀️
What an original conversation!!!!
hello Dr huberman, I have listened to a lot of your podcasts and I'm a humongous fan and believe you are doing some amazing work. I appreciate all the intense efforts you put in to make the episode fantastic. Since we know that testing yourself is the best way to learn things, have you thought about maybe putting like a mini very basic quiz over the episode at the very end either? Just to have the option so we can remember the episode a bit better
Good idea! Especially given what we know about testing and retention of knowledge: www.hubermanlab.com/episode/optimal-protocols-for-studying-learning
It’s better to be rich and depressed than poor and depressed!!!
So timely!🙌🏾👏🏾
Right on time for that post sales guilt!
She's bored....
Dr I love you and will always admire you
Andrew where can we hear you lecture? I would love to come and be amongst the sophists...it would be a bucket list highlight honestly! You are an inspiration and role model of mine.
I’ll be doing a live tour later this year 2025
Great podcast I totally agree with Morgan regarding how our genetics play a huge role in our mental health and our decision making with regards to money you see parents desperately trying to teach their children how to save but you either have the wiring to save or not I remember so well in my twenties when some of my friends were saving to buy properties but most were overspending on clubbing etc it's all down to how lucky you are with your genetics
Thank you ANDREW for this conversation with MORGAN 👍❤️
Love this video. What an edifying and thought provoking discussion
Great content, can't wait for Morgans new book. Thanks again HubermanLab
Excellent tubecast. Thank you !!
Dr huberman is trying to organize Life
Yes money can buffer stress but ultimately it depends on HOW you earn it, sometimes it brings more stress
Thank you Andrew Huberman! 🙏🏻
Thank you my best and lovely brother that you shared knowledge for us.❤❤❤ love you brother
It would have been funny if Morgan's first point was not to get sucked into Black Friday sales.
Just watched you on Shawn Ryan show your knowledge is awesome and I’m looking forward to adding you to my list along with Shawn
Being sick is very bad for your income. Avoid concussions and stupid accidents because you speed, ski on ice, plunge off cliffs, etc. Try hard not be an addict. Very hard. And for goodness sakes, don't remain in a relationship with someone who intentionally harms themselves. Run. Fast.
"Carrot and stick, that's how the brain works." ~Andrew Huberman~
Andrew please give me suggestion I have lots of problem with concentration and focus and at the same time I always remain in my head. I always think about something , I don’t want to think . I always saw your videos for guidance. I am confused which meditation is good for me exteroception or interception, because I have focus and concentration problem as well as I am always in my head … Thanks 🙏
Andrew you talked abt your friends who can afford night nurses for their children and how much better they look due to being able to get a full night of sleeping/rest 💤💤. I would love to see an in depth discussion on this topic, maybe w an expert guest! From an attachment perspective etc. etc.
How do you choose your guests?
All guests are EXCELLENT communicators and use very few filler words. My 2 cents.

Very much appreciate this episode
Love the podcast! Can you do a podcast on stuttering?
What would one do with all that wealth? If I had some to spare, I would invest it in charity, I would open orphanages for children from deprived homes, I would open a hospice for horses who otherwise are put down, there is soo much good I would live to do!!!! Doing charity work gives one greatest satisfaction ❤❤❤
Money only fixes money problems.
Brilliant discussion ❤
