Never fried a shoulder but internal temp to pull it should be around 195-205f to break down the connective tissue Problem is that the bark could get blackish to get the internal temp correct.. practice.. it will work.. serve it as a roast for slicing with a lower internal temp.. keep in touch
So are your fingertips just numb, or do you coat them in silicone? Because I've worked in kitchens basically my whole life and have a high heat tolerance. But I couldn't just calmly have my hand holding a ham right out of the fryer while I cut it. Damn.
Bark? Look burned. Barks are made from dry rubs. This had no rub on it. Love most of your recipes but this one ain't it for me. See you in the next one though!
That really looks good!
When I was younger I saw someone cover a whole ham with a 5lb bag of salt. Then he threw it in the fire. Turned black but was amazing. Give it a try.
this method traps the injected moisture within the deep fried crusted ham.. producing a flavorful and tender ham..
I know what did here LMAO.
A lot of things cooked like that including fish and other meats.
You guys really know how to ham it up! Hippy Easter!
Got my mouth watering 😋👍
Will have to cook one soon.
Blessings from Georgia USA 🪶✨

I promise you you these people can brine and smoke their own ham from wild hogs. To me that's impressive.

Only thing that's missing is some lightly fried up pineapple slices to go on top of the ham slices. Or some chunky homemade applesauce.
You got it, add those on!
Not gonna lie needed bout 1.75-2 min per lb gotta remember that ham was already cooked

Ya really should try it Einstein, you don't know what you're missing. These guys forgot what you think you know.
We have been frying turkeys, hams, pickles, candy bars, etc. in the South for 150 years or more!
150 years? South Jersey? Wow, must be a record breaking long life ya got going on.. ..btw. happy belated birthdays!
Bark? Look burned. Barks are made from dry rubs. This had no rub on it.
Love most of your recipes but this one ain't it for me.
See you in the next one though!
Damn…….give me a big roll with mustard on it and I will have the best ham sandwich ever concocted.
ham def not better than a turkey
Got my thumbs down at the horseradish and wine
A bit of good horseradish can grow hair on your chest. Maybe not a good thing for some.
Why would you deep fry something that’s already fully cooked!
Why? Aristotle said
the ultimate purpose or goal of something is the key to understanding its existence. ...try this method and get back to us...
Lost me at horseradish.
No thank you.
No it's not. Lol. Seriously it's not
Professor Turkey speaks, but not for all of us! Ya'll work for Butterball, eh? Deep Fried Ham is the bomb..
