A tip if I may: before you pour oil into the fryer, put the Turkey in and fill with water to just above the Turkey. Then pull the Turkey out and mark the water line. This is how much oil you’ll need. Otherwise, it could overflow if you underestimate the size of the Turkey. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Love ya BBQ Pit Boys!
Man... Brings back memories when my grandma used to fry one turkey and bake another I sure do miss her and the times we had especially on Thanksgiving but fried turkey is awesome
Looks great. I’ve switch from the deep fryer. To an OILESS fryer. Cooks by convection, off propane. No mess. No fuss. But… no frys. It’s crazy how good it is. For those curious it’s called a ‘big easy’.
got one of them many years ago and if you have to use it, it does a decent job. but not as good as an actual fried turkey in oil. i havent used my big easy in about 8 years I bet lol
Deep fried Wild Turkey..? Man, y'all surely ain't kiddin' around. Y'all made it look like a walk in a park but in reality it's not that easy. Thumbs up! BPB4L!!
Appreciate the mention of safety in the video. Not everyone is as skilled as the pit masters. It's an important thing for people to remember how things can go wrong with this! Great video!
Years back I did this for the first time under the guidance of my brother-in-law. In the backyard of course. The oil was hot, we were about to drop the turkey, he says wait just in case we need a fire extinguisher. I said cool and dragged out the garden hose. For 9 years I've been reminded every Thanksgiving about fire safety in front of the whole family. Good times Edit: DON'T USE WATER TO PUT OUT A GREASE FIRE.
Can't believe I watched this to the end. I felt like I was there literally about to cut me a piece and give my thumbs up lol. I could dam near taste it through the dam video lol. Great work fellas
Love you guys. Just recently discovered your channel. Tried a few things. Awesome. You guys are informative, very entertaining. This old Florida boy is hooked!
what helps is you first put turkey onto stand and place it in the cooking pot then add water till fully covered then mark pot where the water ends. pull turkey out and fully dry it. dump water out of pot and fully dry it (water and hot oil VERY VERY bad mix) then fill pot to mark and heat up THEN SLOWLY PUT TURKEY IN
I made them turned out great. Hit them with some sea salt and the White pepper was a nice touch. Definitely a new favorite thanksgiving fixin. Cheers boys 🍻
Straight out no joke it's mild like farm turkey..the brine and rub kick it up by keeping it moist during the fry.. without question the best turkey you can eat is Wild..
I want to meet you guys!! Been following you guys since many years. Must be one of your big fan. I am in California right now!! Hope to dine with you some day!! Happy Thanksgiving my friends!!

@@bbqpitboys : And I am very sorry for the suede boots - which are covered with a layer of vegetable oil .. !!! )))
@@Togoheyhatiro1337 lol what boots are for, to protect your toes...!
@@timespublishing: For this purpose there are rubber boots - but not nubuck boots ..!
Screw the water. You can d the same with oil.

but well worth the effort, I'm sure you know..
It’s fairly easy bud! A good injection + seasoning the bird and drop in slowly , got you a good meal
Nothing else to say but, WOW that bird made me hungry!! Great job guys.
Love fried Turkey! That bark, the skin, is out of this world good. Thanks for sharing!
God bless all here
Looking great! Safety tip: Turn off the gas while lowering the bird into the oil and ignite again when submerged.
Exactly, my thought as well…..👍

That's a beautiful knife
That looks delicious
Nice work 💪👍🔥
Watch at 1am.. And then I'm ready for 2nd dinner right now
🦃 👍 right on! If you use the water check for oil level, make sure to dry turkey before frying !
If I don’t have a lot of cooking oil can I use diesel?
Of course but kerosene imparts a much cleaner flavor
Wow wonderful
What happens if you don't use water and double the brine you put the turkey in?
I would eat that brine as a soup .
And I inject red wine and butter mix in the
Bird .
Oh my God its guud .
thyme, sage, rosemary, salt and pepper for our turkeys. Oh, and alot of butter and some onions.
Our Poultry Powder takes care of that... thanks
@@bbqpitboys May have to try that out! Thanks for the info.
Looks great guys, great job...

Standard procedure.. as we said, read the directions that came with your fryer.
Love my fried bird tell me more about the string beans brother! What do you do with em after you fry em little salt and pepper?
Flash fry.. then we hit them with White Pepper.. pretty damn good.. something for the Vegematics as they watch ya eat the Turkey!
I made them turned out great. Hit them with some sea salt and the White pepper was a nice touch. Definitely a new favorite thanksgiving fixin. Cheers boys 🍻
Been deep fryin for over 20 years...never did a wild turkey. Is it gamey like deer? Does the brine take the edge off?
Straight out no joke it's mild like farm turkey..the brine and rub kick it up by keeping it moist during the fry.. without question the best turkey you can eat is Wild..
Best way to do a turkey
Smoke the bird first, then put it in the fryer. Smoked AND fried. Yum
The growl at 4:52 was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
