    Team RWBY fucked over Remnant hard and there is no coming back from it. Heck, Salem didn't even have to try. The 'heroes' caused more damage than she could (and it is funny how the 'heroes' ended up destroying 2 Kingdoms. The fall of Beacon looks tamed compared to this).

    What pisses me off the most is RWBY had no good reason to lie to James in Vol. 7 and NEVER attempted a compromise when he did find out about their betrayal. All the while immediately trusting a thief they don't know anything about, and Emerald, who was partially responsible for two of their friends' deaths and Yang's dismemberment AND their school being destroyed.

    • @samflood5631
      @samflood5631 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      I agree. RWBY should have been honest with Ironwood after all that he did for Yang and Weiss. Giving Yang a fair punishment after attack Mercury unprovoked during the tournament by disqualifying her. Giving Yang a new arm after her bravery during the Fall of Beacon. Defending Weiss after she lost control of her powers and tried to attack that snobby rich woman. And how to they repay him? By lying to his face and leak information to a known criminal behind his back.

  • @Ch1l1C0nCarnag3
    @Ch1l1C0nCarnag3 ปีที่แล้ว +69

    I still find Ren's "I can see emotions" power to be so stupid. His power was always that he could hide people from grimm by basically supressing the emotions so they can't be detected. To me, an extension on that power would have been the ability to redirect the source of those emotions. Such as him using his power to hide someone who is fearful and then redirecting that fear to a grimm, that way other grimm see it as the source and attack it thinking it is their target, as long as it is one of the less sentient grimm.
    But no, gotta give their exposition mouthpiece the ability to just state how other characters are feeling because the writers can't do that any other way.

    It amazes me that the white knights are still defending this hot garbage show. That they would justify the writer's terrible choices and bad writing over anything they do. They can make Team RWBY start killing innocent people and the fandom would cheer for them, the writers lame excuse" they didn't had a choice." It's mind blowing how badly the heroes are written and the fans don't mind, they eat it up like there was nothing wrong with the show.

    Alright this is going to be pretty so long I apologize in advance.
    1. When it comes to Ironwood I don’t necessarily have a problem with him spiraling into complete insanity after everything that happened: everyone crapping on him in volume 7, the fact they comment on the fact he looks tired along with his beard shows he’s most likely hasn’t gotten much sleep (and even if he did it most likely wasn’t good), having to deal with Robyn and her cronies, learning about Robyn knowing about Amity during a high stress situation, learning that Salem can’t be killed during the Grimm invasion, sleeving his arm to stop Watts, the chess piece in his office, Salem appearing and basically saying “I’m on my way”, Yang defending her and the cat’s stupid decision of telling Robyn about the Amity Project, Yang complaining about his plan which he used to lure out Watts (which worked). So yeah after all of that it’s not a surprise he went crazy, my problem is that none of the characters react or care that he does, Qrow spends all of volume 8 being angsty about a guy he knew for (at the very most) a few weeks and wanting to gut James like a fish, only to be talked out of if by Robyn of all people. Ruby and the help flounder around trying to save everyone. But even after all that they still could’ve salvaged his character if they had him go out like any of Noble Squad from Halo Reach, Grifter from Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox or even just have Qrow go through with his plan of killing but have it legitimately be seen as a sad moment/and or mercy killing. Have Qrow’s killing of Ironwood be like Optimus Prime from “Transformers” after Megatron dies: “You left me no choice Brother” or Daryl from “The Walking Dead” as he mercy kills Dale while claiming “Sorry Brother.”
    But he doesn’t even get that, right up until he dies he’s still being shat on. Hell the only one who seems remorseful and sad at how things went down is James (his crying before he fights Winter)
    2. Emerald very easily could be a plant (just like Robyn could’ve been).
    3. Qrow not only starts the fight on the ground, he also has enough time to switch his weapon to its sword form and then stop look at Tyrian, he has enough time to stop and look at his weapon it gets knocked out of his hands and finally he attacks Clover when Tyrian is tied up on the ground when he isn’t a threat to anybody.
    4. Ruby and her gaggle of morons should have a “Spec Ops: The Line” type of realization.
    5. Marrow is honestly one of the biggest tools in the entire series.
    6. The entire end of Volume 8 gave Cinder the same amount of plot armor as a character named Prometheus from a comic called “Cry for Justice” from DC.
    7. Watts’s rant while undeniably amazing and filled to the brim with over the top scenery chewing was all in vain all in the name of making Cinder look cool.
    8. The whole “Military bad” and Marrow’s asinine “THEY’RE JUST KIDS!” line are insanely stupid, a fully functioning military would be welcome in such a world and any notions of “kids” being kept out of the conflict would be tossed aside out of basic necessity for survival (sort of like the Walking Dead) instead of most of the kingdoms relying on what are essentially wandering mercenaries.
    9. The people of Atlas and Mantle also come form a frozen tundra and Vacuo is a desert, these people consist of improvised, malnourished poor people or aristocratic assholes who more then likely have never had to live off the land, not only that but the people of Vacuo have chips on their shoulders for people from Atlas as Atlas screwed them over during the Great War and finally Vacuo has its own set of Grimm (with what are basically the sand worms from Dune of Beetlejuice). The plan to move all these morons to Vacuo is a logistical and strategic nightmare and would realistically end with them all dying in various ways (lack of resources, shift in climate, Grimm, their fellow man).

      Couldn’t team RWBY just send the refugees to a more secure area with all of the protection and resources they need to survive? Like Vale, Argus, Haven or maybe Mengerie? Sure there will be racial tension between the humans and Faunus on the Isle, but Mengerie has the resources that these refugees need to survive. Better than sticking them in a desert kingdom that has a grudge against them. Face it, the Vacou Plan was doomed from the start. Who cares if Shade Academy has the best Hunters ever. What these refugees need is food, shelter and a perfect environment to survive. I mean, everyone from Atlas and Mantle would suffer from Overheating and Dehydration because they spent their entire lives in a cold environment that snows 24/7. It’s like throwing a Polar Bear into a desert to see if it will survive on its own.

    To me, the most insulting part of the second half of v8 is what they did with Jacques.
    After spending most of the volume occasionally using him to make a few cheap jokes where he acts OOC, Winter tells him that he’s going to be rescued from the destruction of Atlas, but then decides to insult him by telling him that it was Weiss’s decision, implying that Winter hates him enough to wish he was dead. We’ve never been given any reason as to why Winter hates her own father this much, much more than Weiss, but it’s expected of RWBY to give us the bare minimum of backstory.
    Then after dangling a carrot in front of his face after he found out that he’s going to lose his home, his fortune and his company, facing guaranteed poverty on top of being led by a band of vengeful communist terrorists, they make Ironwood shoot him with one blast so that there’s nothing left where he was.
    Now some may argue that he had it coming by being a dick to James right before, but think about it, he had no way of knowing that it was team RWBY, Oscar and Emerald that were actually responsible for Atlas’s impending collapse, which both his daughters were complicit in, he probably has no idea about Salem. Of course he’s going to blame James for this, since as far as he’s concerned, he was in charge of Atlas until team RWBYs coup.
    Rooster teeth seems to genuinely hate him and ever since ‘as above, so below’ has taken every opportunity to humiliate him and beat him when he’s down. All while rewarding terrorists like Robyn and Emerald who are far worse people, with forgiveness and being there ones who lead the former residents of Atlas, and acting sympathetic to genocidal narcissistic maniacs like Cinder. At least Arthur Watts got to exert his Chad energy against Cinder, Jacques got nothing.

    A agree with a lot of what you say but there is one thing that you got wrong. The reason Jaune's semblance worked on Penny ios because her aura is not artificial. It is why she was able to become a maiden as well. her creator is more like her father. Her literally severed part of his aura, his soul to give her life. She doesn't have a fake aura but a real one. She has computer programming, but she also has a soul. So as ther Virus was trying to control her, her own spirit was fighting against it. The fact that the spirit could fight the virus shows boosting her aura to make it stronger would keep her in control.

      @samflood5631 To be fair, Team RWBY hoped the portals would lead the people to the CITY of Vacuo. Not some random spot in the kingdom. Thus, everyone got stranded because RWBY wasn't specific. It's a Monkey's Paw.
      Think like in DBZ, when Krillen, Gohan and Dende wished for Piccolo to be brought back to life and to be sent to Namek. But instead of being teleported to their feet, Piccolo was teleported to a different spot on the planet.

    I don’t find it clever cause the story still breaks these rules. During Neo fight with Ruby, she falls back though one entrance portal and Cinder goes back though it(coincidentally the portal where Ironwood and Salem are)when it being a one way ticket would apply to the entrance portals, not just the exit portal.

    Eh, not really. For anyone to care about Oscar losing his personality. We need to have an actual reason to care about Oscar as a character to begin with. That is a valid criticism and good point. For example just like how killing a random red shirt character that no one cares about has no meaning in a story. We need a reason to care about these RWBY characters before we can be expected to care about their struggles, demise or death of their personality. In Oscar's case his personality is practically non-existent, his character is wildly inconsistent. No one has any real reason to care about him being possessed because Oscar is more of a plot device than a character to even begin with. And the show itself doesn't seem much care about Oscar being possessed either. It shows Oscar being a butt monkey.
