    Great spirit diy. So many mistakes but what counts here is that you were not afraid. You had most of the tools and the will. I was in the same spot with mine. Three transmissions, 2 engines and still rumming.

    You are a legend! Thank you so much for this video I learned so much from it. I'm currently on my first truck and recently had to get the starter replaced and a few months later my truck wont even turn on anymore! So I decided to try to learn as much as I can and this is the best video by far

    Nice video. I have the 3.7 five-cylinder in my 2011 truck, 115,000 original miles and still running great. I'm shooting for 500,000 miles. At my rate of driving, I'll hit that around the year 2061.

    Glad someone posted a REAL video on this engine. I'm watching it now just to see how to pull the fan. Of course I don't have a wrench. My solution... strap wrench to hold the pulley. I had an old lawnmower blade that I cut a 1 7/16" notch out of the side of one end. I used my bandsaw to make cuts on both sides of the notch then my angle grinder to make deep cuts front and back ... then broke out the center with a big pair of channel locks. I'm not making a video now but plan to when re install the motor. My intention is also to show how to remove all the clips, hoses, and wires without tearing them up! Good show bro... appreciate you taking the time to post this.
    I'm now watching you pull the motor. I have a suggestion... use a ratchet strap to hold the transmission up so you can get rid of the jack and not have to run back and forth letting the truck down.

Now this was years ago on a 351 so I can’t say what they do now, but my guess is they did that with this engine and the cylinder is cracked. Hope to find out later in this video 😊

    • @RpmAuto
      @RpmAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I would do while the truck is running unplugged number four coil pack and see if there is a change in the engine running. If so you know that coil is working and it is firing on that cylinder if not then there's a problem either with that coil , connector going to the coil or the fuel injector or you need to do a compression test on that cylinder. You can actually go through and unplug each cylinder and see if there is a change in the running of the engine and that will tell you what cylinder is not firing

    • @RpmAuto
      @RpmAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to get a vote meter and see what the voltage is supposed to be at each wire on connector. If you have the shop manual you should be able to find out what voltage should be at each one of those wires or you can take a test light and sticking each wire just to see if you have voltage.

    That's what happens when the valves aren't seating all the way. my guess is that they machined the head and never checked the clearance. If the valve wasn't seating it will burn up in no time with combustion fire blowing through the gap like a blowtorch.
