I have years of experience arc gouging and my mind goes straight to that. In 10 years of welding/ cutting/ gouging, it dawned on me, I've never actually used a gouge tip on a torch. Great instructional video man, gonna have to add that to my skill set. Love these videos on yt and Instagram, keep it up 🤙🏼
Garett, as someone who taught 30 years in public schools I have to say you make an excellent teacher. You are absolutely easy to understand and follow. I used to weld for a hobby over 23 years ago..I learned how to stick weld, use a torch, chop saw, grinder and that soap stone and the "where'd I put it slag hammer". I got to learn a little on saddles as i once helped a relative who also hobby welds to put up a garage. He had the paper cutouts. One time I made this cool horse shoe brain teaser puzzles that I got to sell..I kept like 2 or 3 and still have them. I look forward to learning more from you if just to enrich my saavy. I totally understand your train of thought. My hat off to you.👍🏼🇺🇸
Garrett Another great video. I learned old school fabricating from my Grandfather. Many fond memories in his , now my shop. Love the gouging part of the video. He called it washing weld off with the torch. Learn how and save hours of grinding through out most repair jobs. Again thumbs up for a good video. Introduce the camera lady she is doing a great job also. Chris
Great video. Learning how to make those patterns on-site is a great tool in your mental toolbox. I learned a lot in the shipyard but learned more in small fab shop. You'd make a good instructor.
Just stumbled across your channel all ways looking for machining content beginner here learning machining on my own time with my own shop in my garage I’ve got a large lathe koping 16x10’ an old wells index 645 mill also a jet radial arm drill as well as some other odds and ends plus tooling
@@hebbronvillemachineshop7763 I’m more of a mechanic/carpenter than either a welder or machinist but I’m good at learning everything I can get my hands on so here I am lol
You can tell a real fabrication shop by the stuff that’s on the floor! A semi messy shop is a productive shop! Great Video 👍🏻👍🏻
That’s right lol

Awesome !! We have always been more of a welding shop than a machine shop. My dad and uncle are way better at machining than I am.
