  • AC/DC performed "Hells Bells" live at the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina during their Black Ice World Tour in 2009. The concert was recorded and released as a live album and concert film titled "AC/DC: Live at River Plate" in 2011.
    The live version of "Hells Bells" from this concert features the iconic ringing church bell introduction, and it's one of the most memorable moments of the performance. The band delivers a high-energy rendition of the song, with lead singer Brian Johnson's powerful vocals and Angus Young's electrifying guitar solo.
    The song is a tribute to fallen member Bon Scott who was know for raising hell, hence the phrase Hells Bells!
    If you're a fan of AC/DC and haven't seen the concert film yet, I highly recommend checking it out!

    Yes you are exactly right Angus played with a wireless setup!!!!! The very first system he used was in 1977 at the show in NY at the Palladium and it was a Schaffer-Vega diversity system, which was a bulky system, the transmitter was usually duct taped to Angus’ guitar to avoid any movement or disconnection from the guitar jack, at one point it possibly even being implanted into the cavity of his Gibson SG to help with stability of the unit during Angus’ wild stage antics. Angus would continue to use these systems for at least a decade or more. More recently, Angus (and Malcolm) have been using the Lectrosonics wireless guitar systems on stage. You asked!!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!!! 😎🍸

      If you pause at 05:09 you can briefly spot the powerpack and transmitter attached to the back of his strap. In those days the jack was corded to that, but now I think its all in a jackplug 😮

    Guitars at that time were using a radio signal to connect to the amps. AC\DC uses a lot of amps in their set up. This is very much a live performance and this was one of the quieter songs.

      I've seen them 17 times live. They were never "quiet."

    • @br1t00
      @br1t00 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      with ac/dc it's impossible be "quiet". They use the amps to the highest level. They don't use gain, overdrive or distortion. The use only volume. So they are the opposite to be quiet

    • @HRConsultant_Jeff
      @HRConsultant_Jeff ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Guys, I was using the term "quiet" in terms of a AC\DC concert. They are never quiet and maybe a better term could be "a little less energetic?" I think you know what I mean.

AC/DC still rocks hard considering they're all some kids grandpa!!!! You guys just gotta sit back one day and play the whole Back in Black album!! When this album hit, the people were awestruck at how powerful it was ,it played on the radio everywhere you went for literally a year straight and dominated the airwaves !!! Angus Young believe it or not drinks milk and eats chocolate bars, he doesn't do any drugs or drinking of any kind. He is a force of nature on guitar and stage presence!

    Malcolm Young - the greatest rhythm guitarist ever was also battling Alzheimer at the time, but managed a 200 date world tour. He had to practice the songs he had written and played for decades every day to keep fit. He is an inspiration to all with the same battle, don't give up on life and your passion - my close one is battling the same battle and Malcolm is a huge inspiration.
    Sadly he passed, but left a legacy that will be the Mozart of our times, still remembered, played and referenced centuries after we are all gone.

    Their amps are actually under the stage, connected through wireless transmitters to receivers then channeled out to each amp, Angus regularly has 8-9 amp heads with cabs under the stage, then mic'd. What you see on stage are mock ups, their on stage sound is through foldback monitors. If they had guitar cables running across the floor you know that with Angus running all over the place it could be a problem. Also, the amps can be driven harder by pushing the signal harder from the wireless receivers into the amps. Wifi setups for instruments are fairly cheap and good these days but originally Angus had a big ol' bulky one that helped get his 'sound' because it could naturally overdrive his amp. In some of the older videos you'll see Angus with a 'school satchel' on his back, a handy place to stick an old school radio transmitter. I play guitar too, though obviously nowhere near these guys, but at gigs, I use small wireless units and you can't even tell any tonal difference, they are battery powered and small enough to just plug into the guitar output and stay right there, can only tell if you are looking for it. I've seen AC/DC twice here in Australia, the only place to be is in the mosh pit, the energy coming off stage is off the charts! Imagine all those amps under the stage just pumpin' away....rock and roll baby.
