From the Old World to the New - Wargames Atlantic Conquistadors - Perfect for Mordheim and Warhammer

- In the first mini review with Selrahc Games, we take a look at the newly released Conquistadors from Wargames Atlantic. Among other games, these minis are excellent for Warhammer, Age of Sigmar, and The Silver Bayonet. You could even make a fancily clothed bard for Dungeons & Dragons using the drum part. Even more than that however, they are absolutely perfect for Mordheim.
Selrahc takes a look at the sprues and starts assembling these Conquistadors to build his warband for exploring the City of the Damned.

Awesome review.I would suggest investing in a decent sprue cutter
Thank you! I've started looking for one
Dude, this is perfect for Silver Bayonet!!! Found my Spanish warband.
I'm happy you think so too! Thanks!
I received a bunch of older Imperial flamberge sprues awhile back that I figure would work great with this box!
Awesome review 😊
Yay thank you
i got a box of these for my army of sludge. such a great kit as well as their aztecs.
Agreed!
Perfect for representing Estalia
The Morion helmet is perfect for Estalia and other places, and the different heads in the box can work for most types of mercenaries I think
I bought a sprue of 6 to try them out and I have been very impressed. Two handed weapons that have the offhand molded onto the weapon have been difficult from other manufacturers but the pikeman and greatswordsman were a breeze to nicely fit together. I am going to buy a couple of boxes now for Oathmark and Tactica: Conquest of Ilium.
I am happy you liked them so much!
Superb review
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it
Good stuff! Make that pistol conversion video!
Thank you! I just uploaded the pistol conversion video!
@@selrahcmoonandstar I saw that! I've already watched it. That video is a godsend for anyone making a Mordheim Warband. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I ordered these after watching this. I am looking forward to the pistols conversions video too!
I'm happy you liked it and hope you love the minis as much as I do! I just uploaded the pistol conversion video!
@@selrahcmoonandstar Thanks very much. They are helping fill out my Mordheim type town's folk.
Hey dude, thanks for the video. I ordered this kit after this review. I also subbed to your channel. Keep it up!
I'm happy to hear that! The dream is that they'll send me kits to review someday
Please get a propper nipper/sprue cutter and a good exacto. Please ❤
Edit: also, great vid thank you.
AWESOME terrain piece too! Would you consider making a vid about that too?
The nippers are on the way! And I will absolutely have some videos about my cardboard ruins in the near future
Take a random irish man, put a gun in his hands and bam! instant bandit.
😂🤣😂🤣😂I shouldn't be laughing this hard! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Hahaha I'm really proud of that joke
Damn I’m sold.
Really nice review! I love these for Mordheim. (I have that orc shaman mini!)
Love the orc shaman so much
A little note from a living history nerd. Those sleves are puffy. if you raise the shoulder up a bit so it isnt sitting quite flush it would look a bit poofier
I am always looking for ways to make my sleeves poofier, so I really appreciate this
Ooooo these might be nice for Frostgrave as well
Combined with the Wizards kits and some arms for bows and daggers, they would have a fantastic Renaissance look for a Frostgrave warband
Can you arm everyone in the box with one type of weapon?
Great question, it looks like there are enough parts so that you could arm everyone with: spears and swords in scabbards. Then you're left with a mix of the crossbows and muskets, halberds, swords, and two handed swords
Super glue! On plastic?
* faints *
Hey dude, awesome video! May I ask where you got the handpuppet for the frostgrave cultist, looks really cool!
The hand puppet arm is from Frostgrave Wizards II (the female wizards), I believe. One of my very favorite kits of all time, I plan to review them as well!
I have an idea. Can you make a video of band versus band? The band you made this video versus the band from episode one and two - they stole a gold skull.
They do look good, though some are a bit heavily armoured for Mordheim (if you care about WYSIWYG).
That's true, but I'm pretty free and loose with what you see is what you get (especially for armour in Mordheim)
Lol he does look like the guy from Shrek 2
Who also looks like Jamie Lanister
How do they scale with GW empire state troops?
I don't have any GW empire troops myself but I saw on a fb group that they scale pretty well, maybe a bit shorter but shouldn't be a problem if you mix and match, kitbash them together
@@selrahcmoonandstar Ok awesome, thank you!
Great video and I subscribed 😉
Prince Charming is Irish?!
In a way, aren't we all a little Irish?
Can i ask what you meant when you said the Perry miniatures warband was "disastrous"?
They got absolutely wrecked by my opponent's undead warband
Creative. I like it.
Thank you, glad to hear
Does this look out of place (as in scale and proportions) if I mix it with GW and Warlord Games miniatures?
For an imperial army.
I would like to know that before buying.
PS: I only saw you compare them to orks and chaos, wish it could see them compared to imperials.
I don't have any GW Empire minis, but on the Wargames Atlantic Legion facebook group someone posted a comparison of them and they look really good together. If you put them side by side the WGA Conquistadors might be a little shorter, but if you mixed and matched I think they would work well.
@@selrahcmoonandstar Thanks!
what glue do you use?
I think at this point I was using a super glue, Loctite Gel Control, but shortly after this I started using Tamiya Ultra Thin plastic glue/cement and it is so much better
