Reminds me of that SiN deathmatch level.... luckily general gravity still worked, so by throwing a grenade you could see if you were on a wall or perhaps the ceiling.... Or possibly kill yourself when you were at the floor. Was kinda fun trying to shoot some who walks and jumps on a totally different plane....bit less so trying to hit them with a grenade. ;)

After boxing day I convinced four of my friends in my apartment complex to play it with me. We played for three days straight, and when we got kicked out of apartments by one of our parental sets because we were making too much noise, we went and played in the top stairwell of the building. The stairwell was dark and creepy and had this weird red carpeting. We had our flashlights and played in the dimness of the stairwell. After we had played though it and I could find no one else to play it with me again, I painted all miniatures. I didn't play it again until my 20's, when I told a new group of friends all about it. I pulled it out of my closet and they were impressed with my paint job. We had a blast. Faster forward nearly 10 years and I'm now starting my career as high school English teacher. I started the games club (literally as an excuse to get someone the play heroquest with me) and the club went off. I had a blast introducing the game to the students. I left my game board in one of the classroom closets, and because life moves quickly I forgot all about it. I got married and found another teaching position and left the school, but I had left my heroquest game board and all my painted figures behind, forgetting all about it. I went back years later and it was gone. Just this week I spent way too much money and bought a complete set on ebay. It arrived today. The nostalgia hit me hard. I wish you great success and look forward many more fantastic videos after this unprecedented new exposure you have received. Plus, for all the love I've had for GW over the years, I still love seeing them comedicly bashed constantly.
I have watched this roughly 57 times during the past week. Pure brilliance, and facts only. Heroquest is the best game ever. Also, the best thing about Heroquest is the shop board that is probably forgotten in Europe... (atleast it dont appear in the Finnish edition, but US version I have has it)
With all the jokes aside it was a simple game that had great sculptures and 3D cardboard furniture with about 12 dungeons that were all different. Characters could upgrade a few equipments but the stats basically stayed the same. It had a lot of physical charm and mystery elements to it. The original price I think ranged from 20-40 dollars so it had quite a bit of equipment for its price at the time. Today a game with the same things cost much more. It was a real good way for those not looking to be overwhelmed by hundreds of rules in.a RPG setting but sill get a great dungeon slashing experience.
I want you to pitch every project I work on in the future of my existence. Absolutely brilliant. I would buy a snow cone in the middle of a damn blizzard from you. MORMONS!
My oldest brother had this game. I never played it, but I was fascinated by the box and the figures. I completely forgot its existence until this moment. Incredible. Thank you sir.

Every time I watch that part I hear "Oh no, Mormonts!"
I don't know how I got here.... but I like where I am.
... to the FORTRESS O' PERIL
Indeed, crucial choices made in my life has led me to this very moment.
I was absolutely thrilled when I was working in the local Salvation Army op shop and two copies of Hero Quest were donated on the same day.
I am currently looking for a third set so I can attempt the Fortress O' Peril.
or gravity land
Not only is this a regular watch for myself, but now my children love this video, and request it almost every day. I am always pleased to oblige them, because the next generation must know what the best thing about Heroquest is!
Aye!
Instead of a funeral I want all of my loved ones to watch this for one hour
Sarah von der Haar it's next week, right?
try not
I thought the exact same thing! haha
broken weapons, masking tape to keep box together - classic sign of well loved herosquest
I can see we have walked the same paths, brother!
Agreed, thanks for the great video, keep it up.
My family moved around so much, I have no idea what the fuck happened to my Hero Quest. I miss my Hero Quest! *cries*
I think the wizard and the elf broke both their ankles. I must have broken my left ankle earlier this year out of solidarity.
keeping all your character sheets and looking back over the puntastic character names! :D
The best thing about HeroQuest is all the Oscar winning actors who learned their craft watching this award winning, phenomenal, and timeless video.
Legend has it that BardiBrODEcasts is still playing HeroQuest to this day.
The Best Thing about Hero Quest is this Bardic Broadcast 🖤
"This is an abomination, this a gargoyle"
"You can't even tell what this is!"
GOOD LORD I COULD NOT STOP LAUGHING
I... I don't know what I'm suddenly watching, but I can't stop laughing. Subscribed, sir! (Thank you for the tweet, Jared)
2:12 ...
Collab with the Bard...WHEN?!
I love your videos.
oh you are the pokemon guy from way back then
Browd sowd!!!
Look at the Musc U larity.
Brode Soad!!
why hasn’t anyone ever made a “Bro Sword”. why does a sword like that not exist?
@@Femaiden Because you've not created it yet.
indeed
I was today years old when I discovered this. My life is better for it. Thank you.
I keep coming back to this on hard times to lift my spirit. Thank you hero quest!
Aye! May it always be there for ye.
This is like the thirtieth time I've come back to watch this crackin' video. Now I'm going to go pet the box in the game room.
Many happy returns!
We need more classic game "reviews" and cracking unboxings like this in our lives.
This is the most brilliant video I have watched in months.
I very much appreciate that, Leonard.
(atleast it dont appear in the Finnish edition, but US version I have has it)
thanks for the best quest for adventure games.
I thought I knew the differences between the US version and the European one, but what do you mean with "shop board"?
Oh My God. That is quite literally the best TH-cam video I've ever seen! If the Queen played Heroquest, a knighthood would surely be coming your way!
"Adorable bunny...."
"Symbol of immortal evil"
😂
To this day, I call them The Bunny Rabbit Dice 🐰🐰🎲🎲
Same thing, in some cases. Depends on the context. Is Yoshimura involved? Where's the intent?
This is the best video about HeroQuest ever made, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong!
Yet I'm still none the wiser about why it's apparently so good. 🤷♂️
MORMONS!
Agreed. He could sell me anything in that manner.
But would you buy a "Brode Sode"?
+Arland Black I would buy TEN broad-soads from him, and a cracking good door for my apartment!
My oldest brother had this game. I never played it, but I was fascinated by the box and the figures. I completely forgot its existence until this moment. Incredible. Thank you sir.
speaking as a game designer, this is the single greatest game review in the history of mankind.
Thanks Sandy. Love your Doom levels (and other stuff).
"The dreaded Fortress O' Peril, and Gravity Land!"...I freaking lost it at the end! This is just brilliant!
"Browdsowed!"
Brode Sode *
The Bro Sword
_Fiar of Wroth_
Brawauad-sauwaud.
7 years later and I'm still watching this.
Seven years, already? Forsooth!
@@BardicBroadcasts Are you going to make a video for the Hero Quest 2022?
Rejoice! A remake was announced by Avalon Hill! And even if it's trash, I'm assuming there will be an unboxing video!
Oh no! The new miniatures are the rubbish kind.
@@randomaccessfemale Yes, but they're UNNAMED. Bard should be pleased.
Ummm... @WanderingYinzer - I think you mean CRACKING unboxing... of Hero Quest...
way to see the silver lining!
I come back to watch this every few months. Never fails to make me laugh.
i had a realy bad day today, going back to a classic Bardic presentation always cheers me up. good man!
It's been a few months since the last time I watched this. Which means it's time for another cracking unboxing!
This is floating around Facebook and it was so great I had to come here to TH-cam to find it and put it in my playlists
Floating around facebook eh?
I don't use facebook at all so I was unaware. I had to hear it from my mum!
I too saw it on FB. I quite enjoyed it. "Gravity land" killed me.
I actually went out of my way to re-post it from the actual youtube page since I know that most facebook videos are not circulated by the actual content creator.
Your videos are fantastic, and this one had me laughing the whole way through.
facebook.com/GamerProblems/videos/1724860727768238/
Frustrating that this happens. They do provide a link to your channel, but not this video. I personally find that very annoying as it's theft.
OH NO! MORMONS!
The sound of his fist bumping the the table is PERFECTION
I literally read your comment as he slammed his fist down and it was glorious!
The best part about HeroQuest is pounding the table with your fist. Losing the battle against evil? NO SIR! Turn the tables by flipping the table and live to fight another day.
This video continues to remain a classic that I can come back to whenever.
