This is more like a short prologue since the Tomorrow Verse is the new animation timeline and as far we can see or tell. Constantine doesn't exist. Which is why he is scared and begs specter to kill him. Cause if he is forgotten, nobody would know you existed in the first place.
Honestly, my theory is that what he was looking at was the anti-life wave from the monitor because he said that the universe wanted it to get back and what other get back in the universe. Get aside from the anti-monitor.
Also, it's 'DCAMU' or DC Animated Movie Universe. DCAU is the Timmverse or the continuity of Batman the Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League/Unlimited, and Static Shock.
I think this was just to tie up the loose ends. This confirms that the Tomorrowverse (I guess we’re calling it that? Let’s be better nerds) is the universe that was created at the end of Apokolips War. We won’t be going back to that timeline ever again, but it does explain what happened to it.
@@WynneChadis this tomorrowverse the universe that long Halloween takes place in?
I love how Specter basically gave Constantine an “o7” as he gets sucked in by the Universe
There's only one question that we never got answered, will we ever get to see him again?
I wanna know what the universe does to John
Now that Part 3 of Crisis on Infinite earths is out this is pretty understandable
Just watched dark apokolips war and couldn’t watch any of the movies before and can’t watch this one now I gotta watch crisis 1 and 2😭I can’t watch those movies cause they have to be rented
@@2010isbetter you also have to watch all the movies after House of Constantine like Superman Man of tomorrow, Legion of Superheroes, JL War world. Those get referenced too.
You can watch em for free on certain sites :)
When I heard Spectre say “Woe to you, John Constantine.” My brain immediately registered it as “OH CRY ME A RIVER, LOSER!” I know that’s the actual meaning but still.🤣
For those wondering about the difference in punishment
The difference is with flash it was random. He had no control over how things would turn out and was along for the ride. Also we see in the Flashpoint movie that his own personal time and memories eventually get overwritten basically having the universe find an equilibrium with Barry becoming the Barry of that new timeline (also recall how Barry lost his powers in Flashpoint until he could redo the start point of his powers)
With constanine he used his magic to no only remember history but also to manipulate and control Barry during the Flashpoint event so that he could actively manipulate and control events and time to suit his own wants and needs.
After watching Justice League crisis on infinite earths part 1 I came back here to be happy that my theory was true , that the wanderer was the Constantine of the previous universe and that all this was the crisis that was coming 🤯
If anyone is wonder.. that was The Source.
Is it or are you just sayin that? Lol
What do you mean ?
@@kashifreza1993 The Source is everything. The entire fiction. It's on par with The Presence (they are not the same thing, remember that).
The source was once given a physical body and got its ass beat
He went to the universe of the wizards of waverly place
A fate worse than death
I’m surprised that isn’t a Robot Chicken skit.
I will forever stand by the fact that the only good thing in Apokalipse war was its animation. Looking at this new style just makes me want to go back to what we had.
What wdym the only good thing lol
@@griffincofell4738 I personally hated the writing in the film, and think that the way they portrayed Superman was stupid. One thing that people often forget about him is that he has super intelligence just a different way of going about it compared to other characters. The idea that he came up with to invade Apokalipse a planet made of fire by the way and still brought Marshan Manhunter and Aquaman there is pretty stupid. Also there is a scene in that movie where Shazam struggles to kill 3 or 4 paradooms only for Batgirl to kill like 5 in quick succession.
Agreed. Plot was terrible.
@@va67889 the Superman thing idk because as it showed, Darkseid was fully aware the whole time. It wasn’t a well thought out plan either because in their minds it was a now or never do or die kind of thing. The Shazam batgirl thing tho I got nothing lmao that’s some goofy shit. Gotta admit tho he really put some oomph on that last Shazam
@@va67889 THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH SUPERMANS PLAN! It literally would've worked if Darkseid hadn't eavesdropped through Cyborg and prepared a trap with the doomsday clones
"Your outfit sucks" lol I love Consantine
XD!
So you grab Constantine and not the man that causes flashpoints like a certain speedster 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 the specter everybody soooo smart
Did you even watch the movie?
@@ivanpaulcerillo2452 regardless, Flash didn't HAVE to do it. He was influenced by Constatine yes, but Flash was the one who pulled the trigger and ran.
@@MassiveBunns And Constantine used a spell to guide the flash, to change events just so Darkseid doesn't ever find them.
The flash was the bullet that Constantine fired at the timeline.
@@thedoctor1655. STILL flash should be at equal judgment too. Maybe he did, but we haven't had the chance too. And I feel living in the new timelines and it's consequences is not proper judgment IMO. Reason being is because he still gets what he wanted
U kno what the crazy part is. That only reason specter threw him in that house was to protect him, not to imprison him. He did that all on his own
Spectre not only enforces divine law of being wrath and vengeance of God, he also protects universe and its ballance.
Matt Ryan needs to be the live action Constantine again.
Had to come back to see this now that we know what his punishment is. Crises of infinite earths was crazy.
When I first saw this. I wouldn’t have thought this would have tied into Crisis on infinite Earths.
Constantine’s life really sucks in the tomorrow verse 😕
Guys if you called it baxk in 2020 that this was Crisis on Infinite Earths at the end, you just got it right. Well the live action crisis had just happened and that was my bet off the bat
in the comics john costantine is always "doing the wrong thing for the right reasons" and similar and is usually extremely guilt tripped about past events often using the "newcastle" event as a self perpetuating prophecy that can done over and over for John in any number of messed up ways. That sounds dark but its kind of the whole way Constantine has been written in modern times, so hes selfish and a conman when he can be, and the rest of the time the world is pretty cruel to him. In his mind everything is fucked and it will never end for john, if he dies, hes brought back, hes too wrapped up in the "fate of the universe" and is always some god's or super being's personal trump card, even God himself in the DC comics "uses" Constantine when everything goes to hell, usually at a cost to Constantine.
This was just a prelude to the Upcoming Crisis On Infinite Earths
From what i understand, only reason John got punished was cuz he used his magic on barry to guide him on what to change in history so darkseid would never find earth.
.
Barry could change timelines however he wants, but would never be as big as what john constantine made him do.
2:14 Is that the Antimatter Wave from Crisis of Infinite Earths?
No it's the universe
My favorite part was when he said “It’s constantime” and john’d all over the specter
I really hope they will somehow pick this story up again... I hope he is in the new universe and will find zatanna...
I think his actions should the cause of the upcoming Crisis On Infinite Earths and tie the ending of the Tomorrowverse back to the DCAMU
@@Jay-gq1mo oh that's actually a cool idea
Honestly, if this is setting up Crisis on infinite earths, I would love to see John Constantine become Pariah
This happens... I hope zatanna will glence him

I doubt it since Lucifer hates him
He’s gone I looked it up but every ending even in the comics Constantine gets punished for his actions in the universe 😢

Ah he'll find a way out. He's John Constantine.
Universe: You're going to Brazil!!!
They did Constantine dirty, the man saves billions for making sure Darkseid can't find Earth again and the universe throws a hissy fit at him.
2:16
Ok, I THINK I could see why the universe _might_ be miffed at the invoked flashpoint…
Darkseid was capital B BEATEN, his planet destroyed along with his legions, and any remaining forces would likely NEVER be what they once were again as their master tumbles in the dark as the eternal plaything of the one worst person he could have possibly been trapped with (any at best anything or anyone salvageable of the planet that was sucked in with him)…
Meanwhile pretty much every other supervillain in the Milky Way if not most of the universe was either exterminated, forced/convinced to clean up their act or were otherwise rendered a non-threat, and the surviving superheroes were poised to _eventually_ salvage what was left of that timeline. *_Good had WON. Permanently._* That movie timeline could have been downright utopia if it could JUST survive long enough to recover, but NO. Constantine felt the need to egg on Flash into another flashpoint to fix things. Knowing it could go to shit just as bad or worse, knowing that whatever happens, _Darkseid is free AGAIN to square up for round 2 later_ AND if we go by comics lore he has this divine and multiversal awareness of his other selfs across time and space. I.E, the same Darkseid in current comics is the same one from his debut and every when in between, constant retcons and reality spanning resets be damned… An awareness that spans across even other media he’s present in… *_MEANING HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT NOT TO DO AND WHOM TO GET RID OF FIRST THIS TIME._*
yeeeeeeeuup, that would sum it up nicely.
So he's being Punished by having Flash kull Darkseid as a baby
This was BEFORE that
@@mr.l8723 No, Killing Darkseid as baby is what caused the Universe to split into One with darkseid and one without. And then started Multi-verse, and then to kill this Mult-verse (universe threw Anti-monitor)
No constantine was the one that killed Darkseid. He put a spell on flash that kills anybody near him (magic aids lmao). Flash was near Darkseid but couldn't get himself to kill. But Darkseid still died cuz of the spell since Flash was near him.
Spectre - I’ve come to bargain!
I’m sorry, I had to. 😂
2:14 The Anti-Monitor?
Yes, but not 1 Anti-Monitor but Many Anti-Monitor! They hardly were able to defeat 1 Anti-Monitor
John constantine will always be matt Ryan no matter what
he didn't deserve this ending smh. hopefully he gets a good ending eventually
DC did the verse stuff so much better than the MCU
It's finally confirmed that this short film _is_ set in the Tomorrowverse.
Outta everything John has faced and not really shown fear but here he's terrified. Begging Specter to kill him says alot.
Really cant comprehend all the anger to constantine bro i mean yes he used barry to change the timeline but barry or reverse flash do that all the time without the spectre putting them on a horror mansion for eternity or the universe showing or doing something to constantine that it obviously seems pretty bad lol
Matt's voice is everywhere🤣
It was in this moment that the DCAMU died.
Anyone here also think that the end of infinite crisis will introduce the Gunnverse’s animated tie ups?
I think that the transition from the Tomorrowverse/DCAMU to the DCU will be similar to the one from the DCEU to the DCU, where it has a big multiversal reset (The Flash and JLCoIE), but doesn't actually hint at anything that comes next.
I wonder...if Constantine saw the Dark Multiverse
Right into the heart of Detroit.
John's ultimate punishment: being born as an immortal Magician's assistant. An immortal.... Rabbit out of a hat... Who can never get drunk/high.
This shows how much better the previous artstyle is..
Flash :- Creates infinite flashpoints in infinite universes
Universes :- 😊
Constantine :- Makes Flash Create flashpoint
Universe :- 😡😠🤬
So what exactly happened to him?
From what I’ve grocked, the universe is PISSED and Johnny is suffering a fate worse than death. Don’t know what’ll happen to him next but I suspect something worse than him being trapped in the House of Mystery. Again there doesn’t seem to be any specifics or whether they have a plan or not for Constantine to come back.
@@DwarfDaddyfrom previous knowledge, I want to say he was sentenced to hell. Reason being is because John knows how to escape from hell. So this will probably continue with his journey in hell, and then getting out of hell.
@@PeterPiper247 I mean if it was just Hell I don’t think he would have freaked out as much as he did.
@@PeterPiper247 I don’t think it’s hell. Judging from his reaction and how he was begging specter to kill him…I’m going to say it’s much worst.
In Dark Apocalypse, John told Flash to run back in time to change timeline (because to be fair, the earth was pretty much doom and most of the heroes were dead so might as well?)
But you'll think Flash be punish not John
I wonder if Constantine got sent to the young Justice universe as he is yet to show up in that universe yet and they are getting closer to the showdown with darkside as well. both universes use the same animation style and looks so he could fit in easily imo.
I wonder what entity Constantine falls into. Specter calls it “The Universe” but that’s an extremely vague term in the context of DC. For Constantine to be that afraid, plus the red coloring of the universe did he fall into The Bleed / Overvoid?
Just watch Crisis on Infinite Earths to find out
@@Savellioscrisis explains where he went but it doesn't tell us what force of nature punished him to that fate
@@GamingGamer22 maybe they'll show eventually on part 2 or 3.
But it could be that the universe is actually a living entity in their world, like The Speedforce. Or it could The Presence cause Spectre did say he is "The Wrath of God" or maybe Dr. Manhattan.
what about anti monitor?
Knowing how the Tomorrowverse goes we’re definitely gonna see what happened to Constantine but it’ll be halfway through the climax of part 3.
Now he's in the newest Justice League movie came out. Matt Ryan is an excellent Constantine
Coming after watching Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earth's , John Constantine was uncredited in the movie...

Could you explain when spectre puts out a distress please
Man im so worried, he literally went like "kill meeeee"
It's actually horrible what's happening to him

They really sent Constantine to Brazil
The ending seems mean-spirited considering Apokalops War finished on a hopeful note.
Imagine If Flash got sentences in The House Of Mysteries instead of Constantine

Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag looks a lot different than I remember.
He is going to be the new Pariah, isn't he?
YES! a teaser of film lauches confirmed
Yes
Constantine didn’t deserve that
And here I thought Constantine would reach out into the Marvel universe.
Crisis on infinite earths is going happen in the Tomorrowverse
The horrific implication is that that the universe itself is *evil* and it’s punishing John because he tried to make things better, which to it is an unforgivable sin because it likes that its inhabitants suffer.
If the universe is inherently evil, then it wouldn't count as a sin. If anything, what John did would be the sin.
That's like calling your landlord evil because they want to evict you for breaking the rules.
@@pillarmenn1936 thats what I’m saying.
@@TheAwesomeHyperon yeah but then it wouldn't be evil, it would be good or just wanting to survive. That would make John the evil one or the guilty assailant.
Kind off. The universe isn't necessarily good or evil. It just exists regardless of what's happening inside it. Breaking off certain rules sets the entire universe at risk not just it's inhabitants.
If you listen near the end you can hear him scream in agony
