The character that got me into comics, definitely my favorite. Also, Matt Ryan is the perfect Constantine, happy that he will come back for the new movie.
John Constantine waves his hands a little too much in this one. In the comics he would always trick, pressure or manipulate other magic users into doing all the actual work for him - I think that was actually his main superpower 😊
I like how they switch it up every now and then. I most definitely prefer his words and cuning to be his superpower but its enjoyable to see him use a little more magic with his same old deceptive ways.
I like the drawbacks Constantine suffers from using magic. The ice dagger eventually freezes him, the excessive use of it sobers him up, and in City of Demons it exhausts him a ton.
I do enjoy how unique the using of magic is by Constantine. You know... there's always something different and he knows an array of spells with different visuals as well. Usually you see Zatanna just doing a shield, or shooting a beam, I think every other magic user usually just... shoots a damn beam. Constantine at the very least you don't even know what he's gonna cast.

can we just appreciate the fact that constantine beat wonder woman while cracking jokes, and she was aiming to kill. not many people can say that they've beat wonder woman
The thing that makes Constantine (even in animated form ) sometimes more appealing than Dr strange in MCU, is that atleast we get to see Constantine chanting the spell and casting it in a way such that audience understand what's the logic behind it, such as that scene of techno magic, Constantine gives a little vague line of what he is doing. Dr strange 1 managed to achieve it through making shapes and showing different spells, but didn't explained the mechanics of it, the scene of where he learns to use time stone was the best as it's the first time only we are seeing him reading instructions and subsequently seeing the shapes formed, but dr strange 2 took the magic aspect very lightly and showed it just like any other cgi effect, it didn't used magic at its core, rather just used it to make colourful lights, the comics actually go into depth of how Stephen acquires certain spells, and how he casts them. The only scenes in which the mechanics of Stephen's spell are explained when he first uses time stone, when he bargains, and when he casts the forgetting spell in nwh, others are just him playing with colourfull light.
Things he can do without using any extra magic, abilities, sacrifices, and doesn’t need to really even say out loud in his head or verbally: telekinesis, telepathy, making shields, energy blasts, teleportation, etc. and he can use his telekinesis to extremely quickly write out a symbol he needs (say he needs to use blood to make a sigil on the ground, he can make the pattern by moving the blood with telekinesis in mere moments) Constantine may not be one of the strongest magic users, however he’s always been cool

The character that got me into comics, definitely my favorite. Also, Matt Ryan is the perfect Constantine, happy that he will come back for the new movie.
2:00 "I give you wizard and arsehole extraordinaire, Felix Faust."
Constantine being Constantine.
John Constantine waves his hands a little too much in this one.
In the comics he would always trick, pressure or manipulate other magic users into doing all the actual work for him - I think that was actually his main superpower 😊
I like how they switch it up every now and then. I most definitely prefer his words and cuning to be his superpower but its enjoyable to see him use a little more magic with his same old deceptive ways.
he's super cool And now i'm obsess with constantine DC animation has really showed why he's such a good character we need a movie!!!
City of Demons
@@zzz7903 Beat me to it. Though I admit it was a good movie.
I love how the voice fits the character
Well this is by the same actor who played this character in the live action shows
@@Matsuna13 I'm aware
When you play a character so good they cast you as the voice actor for the animated version 💕 Matt Ryan
Constantine such an underrated character I love his magic
Constantine is the personification of having a ace up your sleeve
I love the fact that batman just looks like a background character in these scenes
Bat man is just there. You know, being Bat man and all
He's just there to sometimes go "hrrrm".
Lol he might just throw a baterang at you 👀
I want the CW’s Constantine to be revive ASAP!
@slasherflicks yea I feel like HBO and Warner bros cant do constantaine right. Only the ppl in DC animation and the cw shows know what they're doing.
Legends of tomorrow
John and now Astra is on Legends, i admit the show is too pg for his character but hey least we got one haha
@slasherflicks funfact on supernatural Castiel is directly derived from John Constantine or should I say their John Constantine
ryan I mean it’s the same actor and i believe they finished his storylines in that show
I like the drawbacks Constantine suffers from using magic. The ice dagger eventually freezes him, the excessive use of it sobers him up, and in City of Demons it exhausts him a ton.
One of my favorite dc characters a sassy- drunk- british-magic- detective.
3:53 A simple spell yet quite unbreaka- damn it.
0:46 best spell ever.
3:30 The music makes this so cool.
2:05 the mask of DOCTOR FADE OMGGG
Dr. Fate
But why is that skull like the head of Dark side??
Ah comic books mages are such a wonderful thing, they can do almost anything the writer wants them to.
If you need visual inspiration for D&D spells then this is a perfect source, especially for Minor Illusion and Firebolt.
Constantine is slowly but surely making his way to my top 10 DC characters of all time, regardless of whether they´re heroes or villains.
Constantine - I expect the worst, so I prepare for the worst, and when the worst happens, I'm ready... man, he really is something dope
Funny part is he's never ready. He wings it most of the time.
They managed to make Constantine look more badass than Batman.
The best animated Constantine video I have seen so far !! ❤️❤️ Matt Ryan is indeed John Constantine’s embodiment
*Balthazar:* Fire? I was born of this.
*Constantine:* How's Mammon crossing over, you half-breed piece of shit?
[Constantine tosses Holy Water on Balthazar’s face dissolving his human skin.]
*Balthazar:* That’s better. All natural.
[Chokes Constantine against a wall]
*Balthazar:* You can do it. You're stronger than this. Think of Hennessy. Think of Beeman. This bastard killed them. You're not going to let him get away with that, are you?
*Balthazar:* Don't fight it, Johnny Boy, enjoy it.
[Constantine reaches for his gold knuckleduster and smashes it hard against the demon side of Balthazar's face until he lands on a table.]
*Balthazar:* We'll see you very soon.
*Constantine:* Not really, no.
*Balthazar:* You can't cheat it this time. You’re going back to hell.
*Constantine:* True, but you’re not. [Constantine reaches for a Bible in his jacket.]
*Balthazar:* What are you doing?
*Constantine:* I'm reading you your last rites. [opens his Bible]
*Balthazar:* Spare me your remedial incantations.
*Constantine:* You do know what it is to truly be forgiven? To be welcomed into the Kingdom of God. Demon in heaven.
[anoints Balthazar's forehead with holy water]
*Constantine:* I'd love to be a fly on that wall.
*Balthazar:* You're not a priest. You have no power.
*Constantine:* Just tell me how Mammon is crossing over and you can go back to your shithole!
[Balthazar doesn’t respond]
*Constantine:* Okay, Bally, enjoy it.
[begins reading from the Bible]
*Constantine:* In nomine Patri, et Fili, et Spiritus Sancti.
*Constantine:* [Places his hand over Balthazar] May God have mercy on you, and grant you the pardon of all your sins. Whosesoever sins you remit on Earth, they are remitted unto them in Heaven.
[Balthazar squirms]
*Constantine:* ...How's he doing it?
*Balthazar:* No... I can't.
*Constantine:* [louder] Grant your child entry into thy kingdom! In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Amen!
*Balthazar:* [shouts] Sangre de Dio! The blood of God!
*Constantine:* He found it.
*Balthazar:* Whatever killed the Son of God will give birth to the Son of the Devil.
*Constantine:* [closes the Bible] By the way... you have to **ask** for absolution to be forgiven... asshole.
I love that scene
@@almompa And strangely enough, it's canon.
I love the contrast between how he sounds when saying spells and how casual he is when he talks normally.
5:19 this was the most epic thing...wonder woman getting dominated.
I love how his magic requires components, don't see that very often.
Still funny to know that the man who has, on record, managed to outsmart the devil himself alongside many other celestial and/or otherworldly beings, thinks that screwing Harley is more crazy than power bottoming a giant shark man XD
The fact they are able to get the same live action actor Matt Ryan to reprise is just the best!
I'm getting a lot of Rick Sanchez energy from this man. OP at his craft, everything seems to inconvenience him, has a little something-something in his pockets to make some of his spells work, alcoholic, clever, sassy, etc. Good shit lol
Love it when Constantine and Raven said her spell together....AWESOME!!!
I've been replaying that last 10 secs for countless times now and I can't stop.
My life is complete after this scene.
I need more Constantine and Raven talking about magic pls DC.
And they said that Dr. Strange would stomp him 😂.
Is it just me or do John and Dr. Fate have similar fighting styles with their magic based attacks? I'd imagine John would be a lot more creative with his tactics while Dr. Fate focuses on ending the fight as fast as possible.
Johns had the helmet on before, if they didn't hate each other that would have been a force 🤣
John Constantine is really powerful, but he’s nowhere near dr fate, who has fought phantom stranger and even the frickin SPECTRE, he is only good bc of his intellect
John its the Batman of Magic, he can´t do anything by himself but he has his brain
John is the batman of magic side and Fate is its superman/green lantern. Zatana is ww
@slasherflicks are you implying he doesnt have "formal" magical training? Juts collecting artifacts and "ooh, neat trick, I wanna learn that"?
Admit it peeps.
The best spell john has ever done is Azarath Metrion Zinthos!
Edit: thanks for the correction mates!
He’s able to materialize booze, so...
Its azarath metrion zinthos
Can't believe you spelled that wrong.
so constantie can use raven's spell but he decides to make fireballs?
@@luisalonso959 it prolly consumes more energy for him cause raven is from hell and naturally is relationated with that power
With how good he is with magic weapons and spells it makes you really wonder what his limit is or if he's more powerful than zatana you know?
Raw magic Zatanna, but Constantine has lot of tricks
@@maizen1403 good point
Yeah zatana may be more powerfull but John is way smarter, he's intelect is above Batmans
Congratulations on 12k!!🎉🎊✨😄💖👏
Keep up the phenomenal work!!👍
can we just appreciate the fact that constantine beat wonder woman while cracking jokes, and she was aiming to kill. not many people can say that they've beat wonder woman
Constantine is such an underrated character, he’s such a bad ass with his use of magic and is always quick with the comebacks and insults
He defeated wonder woman in like 15 seconds flat. What a G. Gotta love that old magic
Who else wants a Constantine and Zatanna show?
he might show in zatanna solo series, who knows.
The only scenes in which the mechanics of Stephen's spell are explained when he first uses time stone, when he bargains, and when he casts the forgetting spell in nwh, others are just him playing with colourfull light.
it feels like constantine has all the magic for every scenario.
Constantine alone = Doc Strange + Tony stark
Lol Tony stark alone is over 10 times better than Constantine. You must not read the comics. 😂😂😂😂
Alexissuperboss _27 no bro with his magic abilities he can rip of any armor of tony
@@pr0jekt_0n3_5 John can snatch Tony's soul from inside the armor or summon a demon to deal with.
Zatch BellOO7 like I said you must’ve not read the comics 😂😂😂
Zatch BellOO7 you really have no clue what they are capable of and it’s way more than that.
Wish dc would put his r rated glory in theatures hes like a detective who uses magic instead of guns would make a cool mystery
3:57 that same sound effect is when Cecil Horton from CW flash uses her powers.
I love John Constantine!! Thanks for this. Your compilations are the best 🥰🥰
Fun fact. The Va for John Constantine is the same VA that played Edward Kenway
Love the continuity of the live action actor and the voice-actor.
3:27
I love that including this scene implies one of his powers is standing still with his hand on fire
matt ryan is just perfect
John constantine is so AWESOME!! He is my favorite DC character!
Things he can do without using any extra magic, abilities, sacrifices, and doesn’t need to really even say out loud in his head or verbally: telekinesis, telepathy, making shields, energy blasts, teleportation, etc. and he can use his telekinesis to extremely quickly write out a symbol he needs (say he needs to use blood to make a sigil on the ground, he can make the pattern by moving the blood with telekinesis in mere moments)
Constantine may not be one of the strongest magic users, however he’s always been cool
He sold his soul 3 times
How can you not fall in love with this clever bastard 😍
Is Constantine's VA Matt Ryan? 'Cause if it is, his voice sounds a lot smoother than in live-action😳
It is, he's the one true Constantine
He is
@@edwardheppenstall8690 was matt ryan chosen to play the character in arrow because he voiced it previously,
or
was he chosen to voice the character because he playet him in arrow?
@@texteel good question, I don't know
@@texteel arrow wasn't his first live action, he had previously done the Constantine tv show. That was his first constantine role, VA came afterwards.
We need more shows with Constantine it's by far my fav show
Better demonstration of fictional magic system than the Dr Strange movies
JC: Yeah, yeah
*Ghosts get fucking obliterated*
I don’t think John ever really has a plan. He just wings it and hopes for the best.
like a certain Captain Jack Sparrow
If you watch city of demons he has a plan and a backup plan
I was hoping you would do this. Good job!
That J. ConstanTINE.. Is A Baaaaaaaaaddddd MAAAANNN!!! He Can Do SO MUCH! I Mean The Way He Over Powered A Darkseid Controlled Wonder Woman And Drove OUT Darkseid's Mind Control Within Her???? HIGHLY IMPRESSIVE! I Been SLEEPIN' On THIS Dude!!
