    I've had 1password on my Android mobile for a long time but never really knew how it worked and always thought this can't be right. until I came across your video. I can now use 1password on my mobile just like on my desktop ,many thanks great video which really has helped. I was forever opening 1password copying and pasting but no more.

    Brilliant video. Bravo encore to your competent video presentation skills.
    Just easily and happily setup my 1Password on Android (Samsung Note9) after viewing this video and many other 1Password reviews (Wirecutter, PCMag, etc ... of course comparing with other Password Mangers with the mantra that 1Password is an excellent choice).
    This video was most helpful as a followup to your 1Password review with the hands on demo and background password manager experience .
    Your selected iPhone/1Password settings allowed me to compare and select the equivalent settings on my Samsung/1Password settings.
    I am looking forward to my next steps to setup on windows and then enjoying the piece of mind for helping my family do the same with their iphone and windows devices.
    Your videos with help my family become comfortable quickly (not just because I said so).
    Thank you Adam.

      I have found the same even on iPhone and even websites when using iPhone or macOS that you sometimes have to copy and paste everything. My speculation on that is they have something in place blocking it which makes no sense or just bad programming which is what I’d put my money on!

    • @AdamOnTech

      I wish it was easier but what I'll usually do is go straight into the password app, create my login with the site/app then go back to the site/app and use that info which should then show up for being filled in.

  • @davidmason5270

    I recently downloaded the 1Password and linked to several devices.I then established a link to my airline travel site, which does bring me to the front page. My frustration is that although I can link to the website, 1Password does no auto fill my used and password onto the site and log me in automatically. On my Mac, high lighting the web site address brings me to the web site, but does not log me in, the iPhone basically does the same thing. Neither are connected to the passwords on either platform. What am I missing? I assume once linked it will autofill and launch the application. Am I correct?

    • @AdamOnTech
      @AdamOnTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never had it where it successfully auto fills the password and logs me in, at least with 1Password. I found LasPass did do that and you could control it in the settings. I’m hoping with the new 1Password8 they improve that capability but so far I have to manually tap to select the password and then tap to login. For me it also doesn’t help on many sites I have multiple accounts so I have to select which one.

    you are talking about browsers but how about apps? I can’t figure it out

    • @AdamOnTech
      @AdamOnTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be a little hit or miss with apps I have found, my guess is it depends on how the developer sets up the app. Often times it won't let me put in my username with autofill but once I put in the username it allows me to select the password from my password manager.

  • @dolbow
    @dolbow 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you happen to know if there's any password manager for iOS that will require Yubikey verification to fill in the stored passwords, rather than biometrics, and Yubikey to fill in the Master Password? My two complaints about 1Password are that you use FaceID and it asks for the Master Password too often!

    • @AdamOnTech
      @AdamOnTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know of any that will allow you to use the Yubikey in place of a password or the master password. What I have found with 1Password when it keeps asking you to put it in, open the actual 1Password app on your phone, put in your master password and then you will be good to go. I don't know the time frame, maybe once every 30 days but it will occasionally have you put it in for security purposes. As I always say, there is a fine line between inconvenience and security and sometimes it leans a little too much into the inconvenience side..lol.

    • @AdamOnTech
      @AdamOnTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the app go to Settings > Vaults. Tap on the second option and you Will see a slider for each vault, make sure all of them are selected. It Will then look at all your vaults when looking up an account.

  • @florence775

    I notice when I log into apps, my banking app for example my phone is still using face ID over 1password. Is that normal? Will 1password not work for standalone apps?

    • @AdamOnTech
      @AdamOnTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Completely normal! I know what my banking app did was the first time I logged in I used 1Password then the app asked if I’d like to use FaceID which I did so it defaults to that, still plenty secure. You should be able to go into the settings of that app and I’m guessing under a security section you could turn that off.
      1Password does work in individual apps but on occasion, very rare, an app just won’t work with it but I found the same with all the password managers I have tried, more of a defect with the app.

      @@AdamOnTech one more question if I could. How do I view social security numbers once I add them? On the web it looks like I have to click on “view item history” to see the number but I am totally stopped on how to view it on my iPhone app

    • @AdamOnTech
      @AdamOnTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem at all! When you see the number it shows it hidden, tap on it and you will see a pop up that will have reveal as one of the options, tap that and it will show the numbers. My only complaint and this goes for many apps is they try to make the interface so clean a lot of features and options become a bit hidden.

    This app works great on laptop but I am finding it a nightmare on my iphone 11. I must login master everytime I need to get into a site & then the user name & password do not autofill. I followed your instructions but it is not working at all. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

    • @AdamOnTech
      @AdamOnTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Every 30 days or so it does want you to open the actual app and login and then it won't ask you to login with your master password when using it on a site. Have you set your phone to only use 1Password in the settings app under passwords > AutoFill passwords? Also, make sure only 1Password is checked in that area. I will say, some sites/apps just don't work, I have one or two apps where I have to go into the actual 1Password app and copy & paste the password into the app but on 99% of stuff it works and I believe that issue lies with the app designer.

    • @phillipmerritt1
      @phillipmerritt1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AdamOnTech I’m having the same problem. It seems like many websites it won’t auto fill and it never generates passwords for new sites. I have to use the desktop version to get passwords to setup new accounts.

    • @AdamOnTech
      @AdamOnTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@phillipmerritt1 Hey, on the iPhone it won’t automatically fill in the password if that’s what you mean. It is most likely an iOS limitation where you have to tap on the username box and click password which will show up just above your keyboard. Now, I will say if you use Safari on iOS it is a much faster experience but I use Firefox. Creating a new account is more awkward on mobile but that goes for all the password managers. What I’ve found works well is when I’m creating a new login I go right into 1Password and create a new login for the site/app I am creating an account for then I jump into the app/stilts and use the info I just created. That’s what I’ve found to be the easiest but still not as quick and easy as if you were on a desktop!

    Thanks for your video! Just an FYI, you're talking into the wrong side of the microphone, you're using a side address condenser microphone (Not a top address like an SM7 or RE20, which are usually dynamic mics). You should mount it so the side where the logo is located is facing your mouth. Not that your audio sounds that bad right now, it will sound a lot better when you use your microphone correctly. th-cam.com/video/BwWgzn71zYQ/w-d-xo.html If you don't want to see so much microphone in your video you can have it on a small desk tripod or even boom coming from below your chest and have the side tilted and facing your mouth.

    • @AdamOnTech
      @AdamOnTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate the feedback, however, the mic I am using is made to be used through the top. It is a Heil PR-40 dynamic microphone, too noisy of a house with bad walls and multiple huskies to use a condenser mic...lol. Love the mic!! I am hoping once we have a home and are out of our rental I can better treat the room I am in and use a shotgun or pencil mic so it gives me a bit more freedom.
